@SpaceOP

Polo necks or any high necked top. Not only does it over emphasise the bust area, but even if I wanted to do that for some reason, within about 5 minutes I'm sweating, red-faced and generally look a mess as i just get too hot. It's awful.

Also any kind of basic round toe ballet slipper type shoe or slip on. I have a bunion and they are always unbearably uncomfortable. Have eyed up the more brogue-style from places like Russel and Bromley for years but have never had the hundreds of pounds to actually buy any. Cheap knock off versions always have the same problem as the more standard style (I assume it's a cost thing - there's more leather and more work in a shoe that doesn't end at the toe line?). Even M&S wide fit, which I do have a few shoes from there, fit weirdly and uncomfortably in that style.

A shoe stretcher which includes bits that stretch the area occupied by your bunion will be your new best friend, as it is mine

@JeremyIronsBenFolds

Trench coats. I have bought several expensive ones (including Burberry and Aquascutum) and they are just body and awful and make me look like Inspector Clouseau’s unstylish sister. Sadly Parisian chic will not be for me..
Oh me too - I wrote a post about this on another thread recently. They just don't suit me.
beepbeepsheep · 28/10/2020 19:36

Short sleeved crew neck t shirts, makes me look like a square with enormous tits and fat arms. Not a good look.

TheQueef · 28/10/2020 19:39

Has to be a very slight wedge, M&S secret support slipper ∆°.
My feet have gone feral as have my tits

Flackattack · 28/10/2020 19:51

We should all wear anything we want!

I do not want to ever wear things again though!!! Bye bye up the bum! Grin

Flackattack · 28/10/2020 19:51

Thongs!!!!

SpeckledyHen · 28/10/2020 19:53

Size 10

QueenPaws · 28/10/2020 19:54

Dungarees
Anything high neck - big boobs and it also makes me feel strangled
Baseball caps - I look ridiculous
Anything you can't fit a full bra under - strapless don't exist in my bra size

Sexnotgender · 28/10/2020 19:55

Skirts/dresses without tights or with nude tights. I have a varicose vein after the birth of my daughter and it’s horrible looking 😔

TheYearOfSmallThings · 28/10/2020 19:57

any top with pocket flaps on the boobs. They stick out at right angles over by large chest

YES!! What idiot would stick pockets there?

Musmerian · 28/10/2020 19:58

Dungarees - look ridiculous. Halter neck tops. Long dresses/ skirts. High necked tops

Tempjob · 28/10/2020 20:02

Skinny jeans - just don't like the feeling of them
High heels
I have a very large bottom so many things I cannot wear that accentuate it

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 28/10/2020 20:09

Suit of armour - it's a bit tight around the tummy, and I can't seem to be able to let it out.

Jozen · 28/10/2020 20:13

Tassly, flowing, long hippy skirts with little mirrors sewn on with tight crop top and Dr Marten boots. I rocked that look!
I'd look like an aging fortune teller from the local circus nowadays.
I saw an 18/19 year old wearing similar this week and she looked amazing.

Stilettos
Hipster jeans/trousers
Purposefully oversized jumpers/cardis used to look great now they just look big and shapeless.
Thin strapped bras- since babies and breastfeeding they are really uncomfortable. I like to feel supported even though I'm not that busty.

Grapefruitcauliflower · 28/10/2020 20:24

Since my 20s I’ve had to ditch:

  • Low cut tops (my once-splendid bosom now resembles the ears of a sad dog. Thanks DC!)
  • Too much black (once my colour of choice, now makes me look haggard. Goodbye half of wardrobe!)
  • Eyeliner - after 30ish it started to make me look 100 and unhinged
  • Heels (just cba)
  • Underwired bras: ditched them during pregnancy and never looked back!
PontiacBandit · 28/10/2020 20:45

As a size 16 hourglass I can't wear:
Low waisted trousers
High neckline tops
Coats and jackets with no waist shaping or belts.

As an Autumn I don't wear:
Black or white
Silver jewellery

gindinner · 28/10/2020 20:48

Slip on shoes
Have finally accepted I don't know how to wear a skirt
Hats
Hair clips/Alice bands
Big collars
Yellow
Very long legs so high heels make me look an odd giraffe

teta · 28/10/2020 20:52

Wool jumpers.
Polo necked jumpers.
High necked t shirts.
Silk nighties ... Due to age & hotness🔥.
Underwired bras.
Heels - sold them all on eBay.
Skinny jeans - so uncomfortable.
Polyester - makes me smell so bad.

clary · 28/10/2020 21:45

Very short shorts. I had a pair of Gap pink cotton shorts that I wore (on holiday only!) until a couple of years ago, but even if they fitted me now (which they don't, thanks newish sedentary job + COVID) I am too old for them. I am mid-50s.

Also I strongly suspect very high heels. I don't own any atm to try. I do still wear heels, but they have to be carefully chosen. I've got a great pair of Clarks that look higher than they feel IYSWIM.

YY to polo necks too, tho that's always been so tbh. Hats as well but ditto, my head has always been too big. Also I am not a fan of things on my head. If you ever see me with a hood up, be warned - there is a hurricane or a blizzard going on :D

WonderMoon · 28/10/2020 22:03

Roll necks - I have big boobs and high necks look awful on me. They make me look bigger then I am.

Whiskas1Kittens · 28/10/2020 22:15

Everything that I could wear is not perfect really, in some way or another. But as I can't go naked, I accept it and wear most things. Admittedly, the only things I avoid in public are short shorts and short mini skirts - though I would wear them in the back garden.

Alvertan · 28/10/2020 22:38

Jumpsuits. I look as though I’ve arrived to fix the boiler.

DelphiniumBlue · 28/10/2020 22:50

Short skirts with bare legs - used to be a staple look and so easy, just throw on a tshirt or jumper, but it's not such a great look on me these days ( to be fair, not for the last 20 years).
Jeans without a long top - currently too rotund for anything tucked in at the middle. That could change, though - day 1 of no carbs today successfully completed!

OnTheBenchOfDoom · 28/10/2020 23:00

Bare legs
Bikini knickers - roll down into my c section scar
Shorts with tights
Heels
Anything sleeveless
Anything oversized, I don't look trendy I look like I don't know what size I am.
Plain dresses, I like pattern now to hide the imperfections

StarlightLady · 29/10/2020 06:45

Short skirts;

Heels;

High necks;

Knickers without any stretch;

Dungarees.
