@EatPrayYoga

That's nice Ochon I want to do something nice for DH and every year I don't get around to it and buy one! If I start thinking about it now maybe I can do something. What do you use for the actual calendar? I'd maybe buy a cloth one...

I use one of my old beauty ones. Whichever one makes it down from the attic Grin

I had the M&S ones and they weren't great to keep bit I will keep this year's if they're a b it better and it had occurred to me to buy one of the nicer calendars just for the box Grin

I looked online and you can get different kinds including some with bags and a string which I could probably do myself!

@ruthieness ah, you're sharper eyed than me! I'd got that link from an article about 2020 calendars and hadn't seen that the Aldi page they linked to was the old one.

Doing some more searching now for any more definitive news on an Aldi calendar. I did find these entries on their list of Special Buy dates in the run up to Christmas:

Beauty – ONLINE 01.11.2020 / IN STORE 05.11.2020

Advent Calendars – ONLINE 25.10.2020 / IN STORE 01.11.2020

That last one's today so off now to check my Special Buy emails...

@EatPrayYoga I use an old liberty box for DH. For larger item I put in a gift tag ie a book you will enjoy look in the cupboard !
I normally get books, cds/ dvds/Christmas socks/chocolates plus he quite like origins/loccitane items. I might get the Clarins calendar this year to fill some of the boxes.

I'm looking for inspiration. I've had M&S; Laura Mercier; Debenhams; Benefit; Clinique, etc in the past. This year I've ordered Nivea for DM; Harry Potter for DC and Latest In Beauty - possibly for me but might gift to DSIS or my friend.

@DorisLessingsLesson the Clarins one looks good for the price, I’m tempted to get, need a new primer so I’d be justified to open in November. I have liberty for December.

@EatPrayYoga I chose a gourmet popcorn calendar for my “food” advent this year - very excited about it!! I’m going to feel very spoiled this winter

@Pomegranatespompom ooh I'll have a look at Clarins. I have some lovely Clarins' items from one of last year's calendars.

That's a good idea for bigger items Pom

happytovemrsberg I was tempted to get that for DH. I have had their popcorn in a hamper before and it's delicious. I also eyed up the candy kitten one for DH but I am going to try to pull my finger out and make something for DH

@DorisLessingsLesson it’s only 12 days though, so you might need another Smile

I bought my DH another giant Niederegger advent calendar as he loves marzipan. I've been getting them the past few years. This year's has 7 extra days to take you into 2021, too!

For those eyeing up the Velvetiser, the Dualit milk frother is exactly the same thing (same manufacturer) for quite a bit less. Just without the HC branding.

I read that out too recently @Dailyhandtowelwash The HC velvetiser is by Dualit so worth looking at

I'm happy with the deal I got on QVC as it was £85 for the velvetiser, two cups, ten hot chocs and ten lattes, so its worth looking at different deals. That was a one day deal but HC often have 20% off or other codes

@Butterymuffin - thank you!

The Aldi countdown one is not as fancy as their lovely one from 2 years ago (which I sadly never got) but is amazing value! I just bought the rose oil which is nearly that much in itself.
