I got an email from John Lewis about a winter glow beauty box if anyone is interested

I convinced myself last night that I should get the Skinstore calendar as a reward for doing a difficult piece of work (which I haven’t finished yet but will today). However now it seems a bit too self-indulgent. I only have one face.

I attempted to join but it looks like they only allow UK members (it rejected my postcode). I've emailed and will report back if any of the other international posters are interested.

I’ve been a greedy bastard and got the Skinstore calendar and both the Space NK & Cult Beauty GWPs. I do only have one beauty advent this year though. We’ll ignore the coffee one. And the candle one. And the chocolate one

Both my Space NK and Cult Beauty GWPs arrived today. DH opened the front door to the couriers and called “MORE boxes” up the stairs with a tone.

But I’ve very much enjoyed opening them tonight and routing around a bit, before putting all the nice little bottles and containers back. The Space NK in particular is beautifully packed abs presented, with make-your-own cardboard cracker-style boxes inside for you to gift some of the products to yourself others.

😂🤣 I try to get to the delivery van before DH does. I'm sure he thinks I'm a lunatic! My Cult Beauty GWP just arrived and I airily waved his questions away...'Oh just a Christmas gift for someone..'

I've put the Elle calendar in my basket in case LF come back to tell me they've lost mine (current status: We are currently waiting on an update from one of our teams with the whereabouts of your parcel.).

They don't deliver to Ireland but I can use AddressPal (similar to Parcel Motel) as there doesn't seem to be anything in the calendar that can't be shipped internationally. I'd much prefer LF as I expect the daily thread to be much more active. Nobody seems to have really mentioned the Elle one. It looks good though.

Ochon, I was quite tempted by the Elle one. If you use the link from Eltoria (I think someone posted it in the previous thread) it’s pretty good value at £100.

I have no hope of whisking any purchases out of sight this year. I'm back at school, save for this week, half term, while my DH has been working at home since last March and will continue to do so for the foreseeable, so he opens the door to everything.

I've just checked the list of banned substances for international post and it includes:

Liquids of any kind including water, alcohol, gels, creams, aftershaves and perfumes, which includes pretty much everything I've ever bought from a UK beauty site! They obviously don't enforce it too strictly.

I’m also offshore and it’s totally random whether the shipping regulations are observed. Selfridges say they won’t send fragrance but then happily ship off the Diptyque calendar containing, yes, fragrance.

I got the Elle advent last year using parcel motel - no issues with that at all

I have just bought it, this thread saved the day for my young adult daughter.

I've bought Elle for DD - third year running. She loves it - mid-20's - if that helps!

@ajandjjmum that’s great to now- my dd is 21, thought I had missed all calendars suitable for her age group.

@AldiAisleofCrap, @ajandjjmum - Hmmm. Not quite what I was hoping to hear. I'm mid-50's rather than mid-20's. Maybe I should have a closer look through it.

I got the H&B one for my dd who is 20.

I have used few of the items in the Elle adent and I think it will suit over 40's too.

Don't worry Ochon - what I meant was that it's not full of skin products, it has a mixture of stuff, which is why it appeals to DD. But equally, I'd be very happy with it.

I cannot see the John Lewis box anywhere on the site. Has it sold out already I wonder.
