Oooof, I have fallen terribly behind on here! I have kept half an eye on the Kate Coats though, which I enjoyed! I love that she packed so many different coats into such a short time!

Now all we need is some bling, though I guess that's still a long way off.

With you there, MotherofPearl - bling is most definitely needed. The most we'll get for the moment is a lovely brooch on HM on Christmas Day. Would love a tiara event. Sigh.

In comparison to the overall cost of a wedding, a tiara or hair ornament does not need to be a wild extravagance and can be purchased for as little as £5,000 to £10,000.

Some people need to watch a LOT more Ken Loach films.

I absolutely take your point about Ken Loach films @banivani, but when I read:

I thought, "what a pity, as my favourite was the Faberge tiara which sold for £1m"!

Not that I could afford the £5k or the £1m ones, I hasten to add!

I'm fairly sure I'd look as if DD(5) had done my hair from the dressing up box.

I have recently bought a few second-hand brooches (after all the Lady Hale brooch kerfuffle) but none of them would even remotely be suitable as hair ornaments!

Has anyone seen the dreaded DM this morning? Clearly someone there has been reading these threads and noted our obsession with Kate and her coats because they've totted up the cost and number in a great article, complete with percentages . It's worth a read.
