How many coats do we think she has?

@AdaColeman - "... the Mc Queen tartan."

Yes! Thank you paradyning and your techie skills. It's really comfy cosy, although I don't know if it's the same as Kate's.

The first one! On the model.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 09/12/2020 19:21

I'm cross now 😂 as paradyning beat me to Maireas's jumper.

Seriously I think we'd all be an asset to the Secret Services with our observation & detection skills!

Maireas · 09/12/2020 19:36

Tracy - you are brilliant!! I told my friends at work about your brilliant detection skills. The Laura Ashley dress. Amazing.
paradyning gets the jumper first go.
If the pair of you don't get snapped up by some government agency, there's no justice.

I hope they don't think that I'm some weirdo stalker.
I would love to work for ' cough cough' in some capacity however I don't fancy the commute to London every day.

MotherofPearl · 09/12/2020 22:09

Oooof, I have fallen terribly behind on here! I have kept half an eye on the Kate Coats though, which I enjoyed! I love that she packed so many different coats into such a short time!

Now all we need is some bling, though I guess that's still a long way off.

Maireas · 09/12/2020 22:12

With you there, MotherofPearl - bling is most definitely needed. The most we'll get for the moment is a lovely brooch on HM on Christmas Day. Would love a tiara event. Sigh.

Thank you @TracyBeakerSoYeah
Pure escapism. Smile

banivani · 10/12/2020 10:28

In comparison to the overall cost of a wedding, a tiara or hair ornament does not need to be a wild extravagance and can be purchased for as little as £5,000 to £10,000.

Grin Some people need to watch a LOT more Ken Loach films. Grin

Interesting article though, I appreciated the list of different styles. I like specific names of things.

Fabulous, thank you

paradyning · 10/12/2020 12:46

That Art Deco bandeau is amazing!

paradyning · 10/12/2020 12:46

Love your jumper @Maireas

MotherofPearl · 10/12/2020 13:59

I absolutely take your point about Ken Loach films @banivani, but when I read:

In comparison to the overall cost of a wedding, a tiara or hair ornament does not need to be a wild extravagance and can be purchased for as little as £5,000 to £10,000.

I thought, "what a pity, as my favourite was the Faberge tiara which sold for £1m"!

Not that I could afford the £5k or the £1m ones, I hasten to add!

paradyning · 10/12/2020 14:13

I loved this quote:

If you do not own a tiara but have in your jewel box a pretty pair of double-clip brooches, these can be used successfully to adorn the hair,

We are clearly not their desired audience. But loving the bling @TracyBeakerSoYeah

banivani · 10/12/2020 15:01

Oh god yeah, my pretty double clip brooches 😂

Jesus I can’t even put my hair in a decent looking ponytail never mind sticking random bits of brooch in it

Maireas · 10/12/2020 16:43

Well. Who doesn't have a family tiara, or a pair of diamond brooches?!
Lovely comment about Ken Loach, banivani! How the other half live.
Thanks paradyning it's cold at work with every single bloomin window open.

Same here.

I'm fairly sure I'd look as if DD(5) had done my hair from the dressing up box.

MotherofPearl · 10/12/2020 22:01

I have recently bought a few second-hand brooches (after all the Lady Hale brooch kerfuffle) but none of them would even remotely be suitable as hair ornaments!

1moreglassplease · 11/12/2020 09:54

Has anyone seen the dreaded DM this morning? Clearly someone there has been reading these threads and noted our obsession with Kate and her coats because they've totted up the cost and number in a great article, complete with percentages Grin. It's worth a read.

banivani · 11/12/2020 11:23

Ah @MotherofPearl but are they couble-clip? I think you'll find that's the key. :nods sagely: Also, must be pretty. Wink

PCP and Sofia are having another baby, says the news today. Possible maternity fashion to come in other words - always interesting I think.

MaudTheInvincible · 11/12/2020 13:46

All these babies! How sweet to have lots of little cousins running about Grin

MotherofPearl · 11/12/2020 14:48

Here's the one on my coat today. I don't think it's a double-clip but I do think it's pretty!

I agree about maternity fashion @banivani. Will be watching Sofia, Zara and Eugenie with interest!
