National Day in Monaco. Jacques in baby soldier national dress. Charlene in a lovely coat although smacks of air hostess with the little hat. Also Charlene smiling 🙂

I don't wear black, but I love Charlene's coat in those pics, fabulous cut and I like the colour trim/linings. I could see Meghan in that.

It's always lovely to see Sophie out and about, highlighting the work of volunteers.
The Grimaldis look nice, sweet children and happy faces all round. Not sure about Charlene's outfit - are they sheer gloves?

It was 1986, Tracy! I had a crushed navy velvet strapless boned dress, full skirt, diamanté necklace, mahooosive earrings, satin court shoes and a liberal spraying of Anais Anais!!!! Xenon nightclub in Picadilly if anyone remembers it....

All I did was a 10 sec google search on your dress description plus 1980's & it popped up!
As I remember having my heart set on a black velvet bodice with green taffeta skirt version in the Grattan catalogue well think it was Grattan though might have been Freemans.
Freemans was the biz for us Midlanders/Northerers (well anyone outside of London) in the 80's 😊

My then boyfriend's aunt made me a green dress like that for a sixth form ball! Velvet bodice, taffeta skirt. I wore velvet heels to match. Oh the glamour!

Tracy my mum had Great Universal, I think my Nan had Grattan. I used to study the ring section closely and had my eye on a sapphire and diamond engagement ring for when I met Mr Right.

Diana certainly set a trend with her engagement ring though it wouldn't have mattered what she'd had as everyone would have still wanted the same.

I found these pics of a young Diana & my it's a mini Charlotte. I never saw the resemblance before.
I can even see Kate in Diana too.

I bought it from Laura Ashley on High Street Kensington. The shoes from Russell and Bromley and the jewellery from Butler and Wilson. I bought most of my outfits from Laura Ashley then. Thank you so much Tracy! Trip down memory lane!! xx
