How many coats do we think she has?

What lovely pictures!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 10/11/2020 15:09

Thanks frugal lovely photos

frugalkitty · 10/11/2020 15:29

I'm not entirely sure why Pippa M got a mention in those pics, but I thought it was lovely to see so many altogether. My favourites are Grace Kelly, Lady Helen Windsor, Sarah Chatto, Infanta Cristina and of course, the Spencer tiara.

MadameMiggeldy · 10/11/2020 15:47

Charlene looks Les Miserables

MaudTheInvincible · 10/11/2020 15:47

Love those pictures of the brides en masse. My favourites are HMQ for that smile, PM for that tiara, CPM because I like the medieval look, DoC because she's just such a diligent head girl and Beatrice Borromeo because she is beautiful.

MotherofPearl · 10/11/2020 19:57

That's a good summary Maud; I'm inclined to agree. Thanks for posting those lovely bridal images Frugal - I really enjoyed looking at them.

I see that Meghan and Harry have done a low key Remembrance Day wreath-laying event at a cemetery in the US. Wish we could see what she's wearing under that coat, which is a bit too voluminous for my taste. I think she has such a small frame that it rather overwhelms her. Great shoes though, as usual.

I love those shoes. And the swishy ness of that coat.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 10/11/2020 21:07

It's a great coat, very dramatic first wife showing up at the ex husbands funeral type dramatic Grin

AdaColeman · 10/11/2020 21:30

I noticed that Megs has had permission to delay her Court case with the press here, until next autumn, for personal reasons, so who knows what that voluminous coat is hiding.

Great shoes, but she should have kept off the grass in those heels!

Maireas · 10/11/2020 22:15

Going against the grain - I hate the shoes. I really dislike teetering spiky heels. I know many people find them elegant, but I think they ruin the proportion of the outfit.

paradyning · 10/11/2020 22:20

Oh I know what you mean @Maireas but I just love the little hole in the heel with the strap through it. Such a great detail.

Agreed Ada!

Maireas · 10/11/2020 22:25

Yes, they're very high end, expensive shoes, all her clothing details are on Meghan's Mirror very promptly. I still don't like them!

I rather like Kate's military style coats and thought she looked very elegant on Sunday but today's outfit doesn't do it for me I'm afraid.

No, not particularly flattering. Maybe it's having a black collar on a white blouse? Great moody oil paintings in the background!

Eaumyword · 10/11/2020 22:50

I'm a big Kate fan and loved her Remembrance Sunday style but oh no, that collar looks like a sad clown top Shock I wore something similar paired with with knickerbockers in the early 80's.
Don't like Meghan's look either, she does casual much more stylishly imho.

MotherofPearl · 10/11/2020 22:55

Oh dear me. I agree about that collar. Also her make-up there looks almost ghoulish, I think. Or perhaps it's just the lighting?

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 10/11/2020 22:58

@Horsemad

Oh yes, when she emerged from the carriage, it was like a tsunami of beautiful fabric, just amazing
I agree no other royal bride had this fairytale effect, this is my favourite picture, like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, just stunning.

Meg's wool coat is by US designer Brandon Maxwell.

I think the problem with Kate's white silk shirt & black collar is that the collar seems like an afterthought on the lovely silk fabric of the shirt. You can't see it in the above photo, but in others you can see the gorgeous cut and flow of the shirt sleeves, in contrast to the stiff black collar.
Kate was talking to bereaved military families, so the black collar must have been deemed appropriate in that situation, but I hope we see the shirt again without it.

frugalkitty · 11/11/2020 07:51

I agree, the shirt fabric was much nicer than the collar. I don't like Kate in black so this blouse gets a no from me. Nice earrings though! I love pearls.

FawnDrench · 11/11/2020 10:30

Those colours are too stark and make Kate look washed out unfortunately.

1moreglassplease · 11/11/2020 11:14

Just watching the service at Westminster Abbey and love Camilla's poppy face mask, which really stands out against her black outfit. Very chic and an appropriate way to add some colour at a very sombre event.

JaJaDingDong · 11/11/2020 11:27

There is much speculation on another thread about this.

MotherofPearl · 11/11/2020 14:14

Is the speculation that she's pregnant?

Wasn't it @paradyning who called it first with Eugenie? I suppose time will tell.

mrscampbellblackagain · 11/11/2020 15:00

Not a fan of Kate's blouse - it is a bit pilgrim for my tastes.

Not sure about Meghan's coat either - I don't think it is massively flattering although delightfully swishy.

mrscampbellblackagain · 11/11/2020 15:03

Am looking forward to seeing some christmas themed face coverings from the Royal ladies though. My local post office is selling some and I keep hovering everytime I do the dreaded returns.
