Do some people give off a scent better than others, I am in my 50s and wear perfume every single day, rarely the same one and I've never had anyone comment on my perfume?

Yes body chemistry matters. I remember smelling a gorgeous perfume in someone, asked them what it was and it was Le Jardin (remember that one from the 80s?).

Anyway I tried it and it smelt like cat pee on me

Believe it or not I always seem to get compliments when I wear Youth Dew!

I put on a squirt of DDs perfume the other day, a Britney Spears one called Prerogative. Never had so many compliments before!! Made me think my Chanel and Geurlain aren’t worth forking out for.

I love that it’s not a sickly vanilla scent, just fresh, clean and quite understated.

I got very very lucky one day and found 100ml of Tangier Vanille in the Costmetics Co shop for £33. The saving!!!! To this day I bitterly regret not clearing the shelf out and buying everything.

I’ve had a bottle of Molecule 1 for a couple of weeks and had a lot of compliments. All from women. I’ve got a small bottle of no4 too, which I’m going to try, to see if the same people comment on that.

I've bought myself molecule 1 I'm intrigued!

Lol I went to bed once with the man who invented Escentric Molecules. It's literally my only claim to fame. Shame, cause it puts me off wearing the fragrance

jo malone myrrh and tonka always gets me compliments, even husband loves it and he hates my perfum and britney spears midnight fantasy has had too.

I've been wearing the Lidl perfumes and have been getting so many compliments

@JMAngel1 Embarrassing but true. And also annoying, as I love the perfume.

I get lots of compliments when wearing lancome la vie est belle, I love it it's now the only perfume I ever wear.

This is a great thread I've now been inspired to test a few mentioned here. Can you test perfumes in the shops, I see all the beauty counter shelf's empty at the moment?

slightlysnippy - saw it recommended somewhere maybe here bought it and I don't like it - barely used it!

OP - if a present for someone else I rarely buy them stuff unless I have an idea of what they like. For you different story. Just because perfume in my experience smells so different on different people.
