@user1495884620

Are you in Australia because it looks a bit chilly for December! Grin
My thoughts exactly 😂. I shall be wearing my Christmas jumper!
shinynewapple2020 · 07/10/2020 22:29

We always dressed up in our best clothes Christmas Day when I was growing up. As an adult we've normally worn some of our 'better' clothes or at least something festive , but in recent years have gone more casual .

I like the idea of a Christmas jumper with pyjama bottoms .

AllNewThings · 07/10/2020 22:30

I won't be in jammies, but I will be wearing something soft and comfortable. It seems odd to me to dress up like that for Xmas day, unless I was hosting a v fancy Xmas lunch for lots of people or something. Xmas day is for relaxing. One of the only benefits of all this being at home over the last few months is not having to wear heels/makeup/formal clothes a bra.

TartanSlippers · 07/10/2020 22:33

I'll be wearing black trousers and a Christmas jumper. I'll change out of the jumper and into something less hot while I'm slaving over a hot stove though!

GoldenHoops · 07/10/2020 22:36

I'm wearing this.

Yoga pants and a sweater shirt. Comfort first.

SmileyClare · 07/10/2020 22:45

If you love dressing up Op then go for it Smile whack the heating up and get glam. God knows there aren't going to be many dressing up opportunities this winter. I like the idea of dressing up for the hell of it.

That dress is eye wateringly expensive for me but if you can afford it, buy it, and wear it. If you get gravy on your sleeves it's not the end of the world Grin

ohtheholidays · 07/10/2020 22:49

We always get dressed up on Christmas day.

The dress you've chosen is gorgeous OP and as long as your comfortable in it and your able to cook in it,if your the one doing the cooking that is then why not buy it.

Lardlizard · 07/10/2020 22:50

I’ll get dh to serve it up and they way ot looks like the sleeves go, it looks like when sitting your arms will kinda pop out the sleeves
So hopefully no gravy but it won’t be the end of the world

Always dress up in a festive fancy skirt and top (the same ones year on year until they wear out, then replace) then top it off with festive jewellery (bauble necklace and maybe reindeer earrings), then add on top any clothes or jewellery received during the course of the day. Somewhere between special occasion and silly... We love it, and have even got DH's family on board.

Bbq1 · 07/10/2020 22:53

I usually wear a casual sparkly top and sparkly leggings with slippers! Or just nice casual, comfy stuff. Sorry op but that dress puts me in mind of Dynasty circa 1984. It might look different on though.

Starheart · 07/10/2020 22:57

@JaceLancs can I ask where your outfit is from? It sounds fab Smile

Lardlizard · 07/10/2020 22:58

Last year I wore a black sparkly sequin monsoon too and black skinny jeans and ott earrings

I'll be wearing my bed. I'm working over Xmas.

moveandmove · 07/10/2020 23:06

My nan will probably wear something like that dress op. The rest of us wear pj's all day.

Enough4me · 07/10/2020 23:16

My DCs are at their dads this year, my mum probably won't come around if Covid levels are high. May not get dressed, just stay in bed with partner. I only like dressing up if I'm going out.

userxx · 07/10/2020 23:22

@moveandmove Saucer of milk for you.

whoopma · 07/10/2020 23:23

We dress up on christmas day but there are rules. Some kind of waistband relief & not too fussy so that dress would be out.

Lardlizard · 07/10/2020 23:27

Will also be making homemade crackers to
Go
With the theme

OP the dress is lovely and sounds like it will match your theme perfectly! Go for it!

I'm going to be wearing this Christmas jumper dress. It's from a plus range so will be baggy which is what I need as I plan to be sitting around drinking and eating a lot! Will wear with my (hopefully new) Xmas fluffy socks.

A few people have said you will be cold wearing a dress like that, I always find Xmas Day boiling hot as the heating is usually on as well as the oven all day. I don't tend to be cold on the day but if I am I have one of those blanket hoodies to snuggle up/conk out in later in the day Grin

I will get more glammed up for NYE though regardless of whether or not I'm actually going out!

Loving all your Christmas plans @Lardlizard. I want to go OTT this Christmas too. Just to lift the gloom a bit. Right now I feel like there is so little to look forward to and if making ourselves a bit sparkly and glamorous helps then why not?
