My husband drinks mainly cider (he hails from the West Country!) and for the first time this year a company has produced a cider advent calendar. It’s a bit pricey at £75, but it’s part of his Christmas present as I rarely know what to buy him anyway. Here’s a link for anyone else interested:

covidmonkey · 07/10/2020 17:47

I did last year a 12 day calendar for dh. It was difficult to figure out twelve gifts so this year o skip it.

vanillacake2 · 07/10/2020 17:53

The Express has published a list of what's inside the No7 advent calendar : www.express.co.uk/life-style/life/1343917/boots-advent-calendar-2020-beauty-no7/amp

I'm not impressed tbh. Quite a few meh products and repeats.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 07/10/2020 17:54

@Dailyhandtowelwash I think that one is available for pre-order now. I saw it today on ReallyRee (I think that's her name)

LoveEatYoga · 07/10/2020 18:01

Who else has gone for ESPA?

I'm tempted by it though I have two calendars and wondering if I'd get better value for money but looking at other Christmas gift sets.

Also could use H&B for

catnoir1 · 07/10/2020 18:32

I managed to get the Holland and Barrett one which I'm very excited about.

covidmonkey · 07/10/2020 18:34

Clinique advent calendar is out. £90

LoveEatYoga · 07/10/2020 18:38

I really want the ESPA and it comes with a free gift but I've got 2 already Blush

LoveEatYoga · 07/10/2020 18:49

Does anyone know if there are any offers on LF that might apply to the ESPA calendar? I'm assuming not.

ShrimpSymphony · 07/10/2020 18:50

I think if Debenhams were doing one surely it would be announced ages ago so I doubt they are. I really liked theirs last year and bought the perfume from it

Pomegranatespompom · 07/10/2020 18:51

This thread is lovely escapism.

FlyingByTheSeatof · 07/10/2020 19:06

The No 7 Calendar is full of the exact range of skincare products I wanted so I'm delighted.

vanillacake2 · 07/10/2020 19:28

Do people rate Clinique? I was thinking of getting the Elemis one but not sure I can justify the cost. Clinique May be an alternative.

TheQuietWoman · 07/10/2020 19:34

One of the you tubers Renu I think her name is, said Debenhams are not doing one this year.

ShrimpSymphony · 07/10/2020 19:47

My John Lewis calendar just arrived. Oh the excitement taking it out of its box I’m so tempted to open it but I opened my H&B so I must resist

TattiePants · 07/10/2020 19:47

@ShrimpSymphony there's still time for Debenhams. I've just checked and I Facebook messaged them at the end of September last year asking about their calendar and they didn't know. I'm sure it was well into October before they released any info.
foilflower · 07/10/2020 19:49

I agree Pomegranate. I’ve been expecting negative comments and there have been none so I have been pleasantly surprised. I spend very little on myself during the year and think I deserve a treat (or three!). I think we all do after such a rubbish year!

Vanilla, have you tried Clinique before? I tried the three step system many years ago and my skin didn’t like it at all and it took a long time for it to recover. I’ve heard others say similar. The toner is very harsh. Or was, at least, it might have changed since then. I’ve been a bit scared to try the rest of the brand since then.

foilflower · 07/10/2020 19:49

(I’ve no idea what’s in the Clinique calendar though).

AsPerMyLastEmail · 07/10/2020 19:56

Hello, good to see there’s an active 2nd thread!

Holland & Barrett So I still haven’t had an email in reply to my complaint that an item was missing from my calendar. Bad customer service.

Liberty’s I tried after midnight last night after getting a Really are notification and it was showing as out of stock! Luckily I refreshed a few times and managed to order one, and luckily it hasn’t been cancelled and appears to have been despatched. That’s v disappointing that some of you have had that. Complete muppetry.

Harper’s Bazaar Thanks to the PP who posted about this, and I mean that half sincerely and half sarcastically as I was led down the path of temptation and bought that too Grin Seriouslg though, it looked different and good value.

RozHuntleysStump · 07/10/2020 20:09

I resisted Liberty. I want it but I’d have to put it on my cc which I don’t want to do since I already have about 5 calendars!

To the person who asked, I think Elemis is much better and nicer than Clinique. I used to exclusively use Clinique but I’m mostly Elemis now. The calendar is good value I think.

AprilLady · 07/10/2020 20:27

Very pleased to report that Net a Porter did make a few more calendars available, and I now have one on order. I like the skincare/haircare focus, and also love the idea of trying out ridiculously expensive products I would never buy full price.

I also have F&M for the third year running. I loved the 2018 and 2019 calendars. I was going to switch to Liberty this year but when it came to it still preferred F&M overall.

And finally also have ASOS, so that is definitely me done for this year.

LoveEatYoga · 07/10/2020 20:45

Is there a Harper's Bazaar advent calendar?

I can't find it

Housewife2010 · 07/10/2020 20:50

No. They are doing a beauty box instead. It's on the Hearst magazine website.

Thanks Housewife

I saw mention of HB and thought "oh haven't seen that one" and straight on google Grin

Babysharkdoodoodood · 07/10/2020 21:06

So it's either going to be diptyque or selfridges. Changed my mind about Liberty.

Ugh. Decisions decisions.
