Sorry I have been MIA, I think a few of us have been - I am going to try and make more of a perfume effort in 2021!
I don't actually think I've bought anything new this year (apart from DH's gift of the little Chanel Exclusifs and some lovely samples from very kind Perfumistas
)
Top scents (I don't even think I have 10!) of 2020 that were "newish" and not old favourites though -
Chanel Beige - how I love this (I just remembered I did buy a tiny decant when mine ran out) Honey with flowers below it, it's interesting as it doesn't fall into a Summer or Winter category in my mind - this is rare and high praise for me!
All though the first very warm lockdown I wore a decant bottle of something I thought was something like Blue Fruit/Agave by Tom Ford but the label has come off and I can't find it online
It's definitely not the Jo Malone Agave one - although I wore it out of laziness and "can't be arsed to choose one" I have come to love it, it's quite masculine and very "cooling". Astringent. Yummy.
Chanel No. 22. I've gone from not really liking the ubiquitous Chanel "notes" (like you I think Shrill?) to having three in my top 10! This is a perfume to wear to bed. No idea why No. 5 is the most popular when this is so much better - I don't actually get the aldehydes, it's almost as elegant as 19 but in a warmer, cosy way.
No. 19. Calm and dignified, needs no expounding upon! (Especially as I am so inarticulate today!)
Blanc Polychrome Atelier des Ors (courtesy of lovely Teta, although I am a total ingrate now as I'm annoyed I can't afford a FB
) I take back everything I have said about rhubarb in perfume. Gorgeous. Thirst quenching. Longevity outstanding on my skin. (It seems to have gold flakes in the FB which is pretty, but for such an £££ perfume, the bottle actually reminds me of the L'Aimant one
)
I actually think that's it
I shall make more of an effort next year. I'm trying desperately to find some positives in life...as are we all no doubt!
for all of us...and come back MIA posters - I actually feel more cheerful for spending time thinking about perfume and writing this post
