Vetiver Insolent today. This doesn't seem to get much love here, but I adore it. I wouldn't have thought it a particularly wintry fragrance, but it works really well. I'm also eating lebkuchen biscuits, and the perfume and spices complement each other nicely.

Just had a thought, do you think we can ask MNHQ for a perfume emoji, or is that too niche?

I was in M&S today so picked up a bottle of Fragonard santal cardomome. It's nice enough for the price, not a wintry perfume but will be okay in spring I think. Not getting much sandalwood from it.

Why is everyone fed up? Life in 2020, or something specific?

flora I am fed up working seven days a week because teaching remotely is so much harder - I am contracted to work four. I am fed up because my DP was made redundant at the end of last year, and other than a couple of spells of consultancy work hasn’t been able to find anything, because pandemic. I am fed up of feeling lonely, and worried, and tired. I am FED UP of covid, and 2020. Yeah. That.

Evening Perfumistas! Goodness, name changed and not been on here for months since getting my dogs. Sorry to see lots of fed up folk, not really full of the joys myself, haha.

Trying to think what perfume purchases I've made of late...The MH Velvet Cherry TK Maxx Bargain, right up my street. Bought a couple of the MFK travel sprays...Oud Satin Mood and Gentle Fluidity Gold.

Also joined one of those perfume subscription things - Parfumado. So far have had Room 1015 - Cherry Punk, a nice cherry-leather; ELDO Like This, creamy, spicy pumpkin; and Montale Sensual Instinct - sweet rose, coffee and oakmoss, a bit unusual but with a bit of a BR540 feel.

Am still in the 4160 Tuesdays subscription thing as well but think I heard it was changing? Haven't been a fan of many of the fragrances other than the Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits one so will probably cancel anyway.

Just trying to decide on a Christmas perfume for my main present (husband will wrap it but I'm choosing my own!). Ran out of both of Vanilla Flash, and FM Music for a While. Totally different though, may end up with both if I can stretch to it (just one of the 10ml FMs, can't afford a 50ml).

Sotd CdG Monocle Hinoki, nice cypress for our christmas tree buying jaunt. Went too big and the bloody thing has already fallen down once but it does look good.

No FBs in my future due to £4k tax bill that DH has landed on me (he is SAHD) despite telling me it was sorted last year. Hacked off doesnt come close, plus my role at work is being completely changed so I’ve a whole new area to learn, while doing my old job as we are short staffed.

flora, I've been fed up of isolating with the kids! We've had to do it three times this term already (two illnesses on our part and once the nursery closed altogether) and now we are self-isolating for 14 days before going to visit my mum at Christmas. What a year. The idea of normality is so weird now.

SOTD was Tauerville Vanilla Flash again. I wish I could find my Eau Duelle but I don't know where I stashed it!

SOTD is Captured by Candlelight, yum. This one really has been such a long-lasting favourite. It always smells so great on me.

@Hotdogsforsale you are on a roll! I saw the MH Velvet Cherry on TKMaxx a while ago and was seriously tempted but didn't... I'm glad it went to a good home .

You've also reminded me about Hammersmith Tea & Biscuits, which is also a favourite. I left it at my mother's house and am looking forward to reclaiming it over Christmas! It's so... authentically tea and biscuity... I haven't had any compliments on it but it gives me great pleasure.

SOTD was Patch Flash, SOTE was the decant of Xerjoff Italica that just arrived. It might be one of my favourite things I've ever smelled. Shame a full bottle is £275. In my dreams.

Dh is stressed - lost lots of orders from China.
Ds1 (y13) is working hard but no idea what's happening next year re his exams.
Ds2 is stressed bu his start at secondary. He's holding it together but needs the Xmas break.
Moving mum into her flat was physically knackering as well as mentally/emotionally. She is happy though and safe which is the main thing.
I'm still having chiropractic treatment for the shoulder/neck issues stripping woodchip for 4 weeks caused though 😬
And of course....Brexit! The shitty gift that's keeps on giving.
I'm sick of organisations using covid as an excuse for poor service/negligence.
I'm just sick of it all.
