Hi pots, hi mother! Lovely to see you both. And yes, a hell of a year. I think we are going to scoot up a level to three tomorrow.

We put our Christmas tree up tonight - usually we have a real one but I bought a pretty decent fake one from M&S after last year’s was a disaster. 🎄🎄🎄

Sorry @MrsLorensen about the advent calender. I guess no one has come forward to offer to help.🌲 I think personally for me it doesn't feel like a normal Christmas and I'm not really in the mood for celebrating. I'm sure I will cheer up later cos I sound a bloomin misery 🌞.
Sotd is Comme des Garcons Hinoki - Japanese incense & turpentine

I got a sample of glossier you yesterday. I was surprised that I liked it - more subtle than I normally go for. Reminds me of Beauty Pie love, which I think is sweeter and more linear - but both are enjoyable wears. Would consider getting a FB of the glossier. Feels like a great scent to wear when alone at home.

SOTD is Pengaligon’s Cairo because I’m in a grump and it’s lovely and comforting. Don’t have much of my sample left but I think I might shell out for a full bottle if I get some Christmas money (don’t suppose they’re likely to do a January sale?)

Sotd is by the fireplace and I've had an email from PayPal informing me that someone (DH) has made a payment for a bottle of ACDD!!

Hello everyone. I’ve been a lurker in the past, but I definitely have pp pockets with tauer tastes. Sigh. I did get a pp tauer copy which was lovely, no idea how close it was to real. But I bought dd some Tom ford dupes, which she loved and Lancôme idole. But I want something. Today was guerlain. Most days are. Santal Royal today. But I want something lovely. The usual old lady handbag in a church vibe. Like Serge Lutyens, POAL (though dh doesn’t), dark, dirty, silk and cashmere. (I sound like a right femme fatale, rather than a dumpy 60 year old). Come at me, oh scented ones.

SOTD yesterday was Captured by Candlelight. Very Christmas puddingy on me at the moment, in a perfect, oaky way. Tonight I will put on some Monyette Paris I think (still and always my beloved favourite despite my time experimenting).

SOTD is Phaedon Paris Oliban. Smells just like church- I sprayed it and instantly could see the embroidered prayer cushions at my childhood church. Definitely want to try some more incense scents

SOTD Captured by Candlelight, I have turned into a big pudding, and can't stop sniffing myself.

Hi all. Checking out the incense recommendations. I haven’t had a shower yet but think I will go for encens flamboyant today (another churchy one). Hope everyone is well. Welcome @OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow I like your name.

Sotd is Romilly Wilde Idle. It's a green pollen rich musky fragrance that sort of reminds me of Diorissimo in feeling. Totally inappropriate to today's absolutely freezing icy rain.
Umm... Favourite incense perfumes are L Occitane Eau d Iparie and Ffern Summer 2019. In fact I've just ordered a second bottle from the archive. I love Myrrh in perfumes. Particularly in Profumum Roma Battito d Ali and Neroli and lemony frakincense. I put Myrrh, Frankincense & Elemi essential oils in the bath as they're soothing and antiseptic.

ACDD. I smell all yummy & spicy. Meeting a friend for an outdoor cuppa today - not quite the same as a festive pub lunch, but as good as it gets at the moment!

Hi all, nice to see some familiar names as well as newbies. Not been wearing perfume all week as work has been crazy (doing work of 1.5 people and prepping a big campaign). Busted out a sample of DS&Durga Amber Teutonic today; warm amber deliciousness. Neck and neck on my FB list with DS&Durga Cowboy Grass.

Wish perfume came more regularly in 30mls - a size for these fickle, easily distracted times.

Feel like I should know what ACDD is Flora and Kate but my head is fuzz.

SOTD is Velvet by Commodity. Loved it when I tried it last year; now all I get is pepper (where did the smoke and incense go?!).

@1frenchfoodie Au Coeur du Desert - Tauer. Very similar to l'Air du Desert Marocain.
Today is Bowmakers. I think I'm going to buy a bottle of either this or ACDD but I can't decide which. It might come down to which website is offering more tempting samples.

Ah thanks Flora . I have a FB of Bowmakers but seem to have gone off it since I got it last year, it now seems more varnish than resin overlaying the wood and leather. Hoping it is temporary, perhaps FOMO because I’ve fallen harder for two other DS&Durga scents.

Sotd is an old stalwart - La fille de Berlin. It's as beautiful as ever, even though the juice has darkened markedly. Yesterday I wore Marina Barcenilla The perfume garden which really lasted all day, with just a couple of tiny sprays.

I think I might resell the Miller Harris Tender perfume I bought from Tk Maxx as I don't feel the urge to wear it at all. I have way too many perfumes I don't wear any more and would like to become more minimalist. I'm afraid this is a repeated cycle of mine - rinse, repeat 😊.

I'm so glad I'm not the only going on & off perfumes, for no discernable reason.
