Glad to have prompted you Chester, never tried anything in your basket so would be interested in your highlights. SOTD is a Nose sample of DS&Durga Notorious Oud, an earthy, woody, leathery delight with a nice skanky hum (civet I think).

Sending the best of vibes Shrill

FloraMacDonald · 01/11/2020 14:22

Ahh, sorry shrill. Flowers Something comforting? Or alternatively, sometimes I like to wear a big perfume in a stressful situation, it helps me put on a brave face.

In an attempt to support small businesses, I have ordered a few samples from Les Senteurs. All Tauer. Grin I'm so selfless. Grin
DM has hinted she might get me a bottle of ACCD for 🎄. She's the best.

Shrillharridan · 01/11/2020 15:16

Ah, how lovely 😍

No idea what to wear...something Comforting I think...maybe SSOTPE.
Sotd EL knowing.

Shrillharridan · 01/11/2020 15:17

I've been busy on etsy :)
Earrings for me, a couple of wooden shelves for the house, Xmas gifts...
I've got a sample of rochas femme on the way...I think it will be a purchase if I like it!

FloraMacDonald · 01/11/2020 19:48

🐑🐑 baa!
I've just ordered a 'diagnostic' sample pack from nose.fr. I also added on Bowmakers & Much Ado.

I love Etsy for earrings. I've also been eyeing up pendant necklaces. I should probably buy some presents for other people too!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/11/2020 20:43

shrill I had a head MRI a few years ago re my teeth - obviously I wore Chanel 19! The guy told me the length of each scan and I counted in my head based on the number of seconds. It was fine, although I was SO nervous.

SOTD LE 15. So stormy here, then bloody fireworks going off. My poor cat.

Shrillharridan · 01/11/2020 20:46

Hi
I've had an MRI before, just not a head one
I'm not too bothered except tonight I can't stop sneezing...that won't make for good images!
Thanks for the good vibes x

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 01/11/2020 22:21

head MRIs arent too bad, just close your eyes, it helps you feel like youve got more space. deep but even breaths and youll be fine (i am a brain scan expert, ive had a lot of them, thank you abnormal brain!)

FloraMacDonald · 02/11/2020 09:00

Good luck shrill.

Shrillharridan · 02/11/2020 09:04

Thank you.
I think I'm going for SSOTPE today.

Benjispruce2 · 02/11/2020 09:27

Hope all is well @Shrillharridan. Wafting good vibes of Cristalle your way.

teta · 02/11/2020 09:47

Good luck Shrill deep breaths and nothing too strong smelling x

SOTD vanilla and tea tonique mixed!
Yes to buying hte Fume MH!

Calmasasleepycat · 02/11/2020 11:37

I hope all goes well today Shrill 🤞. I was reminded of you when I tried MMM By The Fireplace for the first time the other day. I know you love it and the PP version. To me it smells exactly like roast chestnuts. It took me straight back to the time when before Christmas my dad took us all to see the lights in central London. We drove in and along Oxford Street and Regent Street, parked in one of the back streets (this was in the late 50s!) and bought roast chestnuts from a stall. Happy days! 😊. Love the perfume.

FloofyFoolishYetFragrant · 02/11/2020 14:39

Oh shrill poor you, if you have to wear the Silence Of The Lambs mask thing, I actually find it easier to keep my eyes open as I sometimes feel dizzy, I think it's the noise as CT ones are fine. (I think I've got them the right way round!) I hope it's all OK for you.

Well, forgive me if you have seen this already but how COULD I NOT KNOW THIS and will IKEA be allowed to stay open specifically for these Byredo x IKEA (my DC always like things that are
x-Ed with something else, it must be trendy)

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.idealhome.co.uk/news/osynlig-ikea-candles-257627/amp

Sorry I have no time to post properly but wanted to share the above - I have read the thread but brain like a sieve (hence all the scans) so apologies if someone did this already!

Also kali I managed to get the Cherry off to you - hope it arrives safely! I've gone off it a bit already Blush and I think it's leaning to miss not hit. I don't like Blousy either

I too have bought a couple of samples recently but sadly not for me, for stockings and advent calendars. I can't spend any more money now though so will have to pick through my Winter Perfume box, which will be all new to me at least with my shit memory atm. So that's a bonus! It's like having a whole new box of giant samples.

PS does anyone who hasn't tried it, want my decant of Blousy? Im assuming post offices are essential shops again, I bloody hope so for the sake of my eBay fund...

Shrillharridan · 02/11/2020 14:53

Hi 👋
All over. So noisy!! Ugh.
calm what a lovely memory 💖
I wore SSOTPE and ket getting wafts of it during the scan.
I had to wear a helmet type thing. Sexy.
I can't but the MH now as I've had to get a new laptop. I'm livid.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 02/11/2020 15:53

Glad it went okay, shrill. SOTD LE 15 again. I don't know why I don't wear this more, I am really liking it right now.

FloraMacDonald · 03/11/2020 13:31

Does anyone have a recommendation for a lily of the valley perfume please? I've been asked for a 'perfume to make me smile' by an older lady and I know she likes lily of the valley. That's all I could think of, apart from a generic old-lady-lavendar.

KaliforniaDreamz · 03/11/2020 16:21

FloofyFoolishYetFragrant
Thank you so much for sending me the MH cherry decant. I have just applied and it is quite strong at the moment, not the cherry drop scent i was expecting, altho that is in there, but soft, velvety, just the right side of heady. The experience is a bit like smelling through a cushion.
i shall wait for it to settle and post again tomorrow. But thank you so much, so nice to receive post when things feel a bit gloomy xx

Flora you could go classic

SOTD MH Velvet Cherry!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/11/2020 17:26

SOTD Mitsouko.

flora is Diorella or Diorissimo lily of the valley?

Shrillharridan · 03/11/2020 17:28

I was going to suggest Yardley or bronnley too flora for lilly of the valley

Benjispruce2 · 03/11/2020 18:02

I’m loving my Yardley English Rose(£4.99 in TK Max) and so isDH who rarely comments on my perfume.

Calmasasleepycat · 03/11/2020 20:41

Diorissimo is the Lily of the Valley one Judy.

Benji those Yardley florals are very likeable. My favourite of the ones I’ve tried is English Dahlia.

SOTD was Serge Lutens De Profundis. I love this so much. I’m stretching out my sample, but would love a full bottle. It’s so spendy though. 😨. Maybe next year when it’s safer to travel into London and have a perfume shopping expedition.

PearsMorgan · 03/11/2020 20:55

SOTD was Ffern spring 20 because it seemed to match the cold but finally dry day. I think I need an excuse to buy more perfume some more winter scents

Benjispruce2 · 03/11/2020 21:17

Not tried that @Calmasasleepycat but I do have freesia and bergamot which is delightful. Yardley has an old fashioned image but I don’t get why Jo Malone is any different and why it’s so expensive. It’s basically stripped down, simplified scents.
