Yes, sorry floofy, I've been rather MIA lately, I just don't have much to contribute at the moment! Everything feels a bit meh. I'm still reading the threads though.

Teta, I binged all of Emily in Paris in a couple of days, I LOVED it!! It's exactly the kind of escapist froth I need right now and it made me very nostalgic for the year I spent in France many moons ago! Have you watched The Bold Type on Prime? That's got a similar feel to it but sadly I've already watched all 3 series.

KaliforniaDreamz · 18/10/2020 14:55

Hi gang

I am def getting a label maker then!! i need to label my dupes so i can confidently lie to people when they ask what i'm wearing!

I missed out on the MH on tk max but i am v intrigued by the cherry one. (had in my basket but forgot)

I love L'air de Rien and wear it often, the change of season is just right for it.

and am def getting the no19 dupe. Thanks Benji

re HRT patches i found they half fell off so would get huge welts on my skin wehre a little water got in. I use the gel now Teta could you try that?

Loved Emily in Paris - total froth but Lily Collins is very likeable and Camille is just SWOON...

SOTD is Georgio Beverly Hills
xx

Shrillharridan · 18/10/2020 19:03

Sotd mmm replica by the fireplace

Shrillharridan · 18/10/2020 19:04

judy I've ordered a load of that shower gel you recommended ☺

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/10/2020 22:00

Oh, I hope you like it, shrill. I find a lot of shower gels give me thrush, so I tend to re-buy the same brand once I find a good one.

SOTD Courreges Hyperbole.

Shrillharridan · 18/10/2020 22:35

Sounds right up my street and if not ds2 will use it :)

MrsLorenson · 19/10/2020 01:05

Hello All. Also not having a very good time - solidarity fits bump with all who are struggling.

Enjoyed reading about Velvet Cherry, Floof. Like Teta I snagged some MH Tender. First sprayed it, and found the quite in your face peppery green opening with a slightly discordant floral note coming through underneath a bit unsettling. Was cursing myself for a blind buy, but it moves on quickly via a brief, sweet, wet pavement moment, to beautiful floral/saffron heart. The blurb says mauve roses and black narcissus which sounds exactly right. Unusual and gorgeous. This rounds slowly out with musky woods and balsams and a hint of vanilla. This really is a very beautiful slightly off-centre and complex floral, featuring an unusual rose...I am very much enjoying this and am looking for another bottle. I don't pick up any ink note at all.

FloofyFoolishYetFragrant · 19/10/2020 11:43

Oh DH's shower gel sadly doesn't smell of Byredo (he smells all sweet and fluffy and loves it Hmm) but I am definitely going to try and get my hands on the one that does! Ironic isn't it, I used to love baths and always moaned pre-lockdown that no one else was ever in the house for me to bathe (epilepsy, I don't bathe home alone). Lock down - everyone was home all the time and then I didn't fancy any baths Hmm Mind you I liked the Neals Yard bath oil so showers are cheaper Grin

Oh angry 16 year olds There is no perfume in the world calming enough to help deal with them.

Sorry mrsL you're having a shit time too. This year, honestly, it can fuck right off quite frankly. It's very very hard to see any light on the horizon at the moment isn't it, I've just stopped looking and trying to get through a day at a time...

No SOTD yet. Looking at the Velvet Cherry. My DD is wearing it and smells just gorgeous. She (perfumista in the making) said she would like to spray it in her wardrobe so her clothes smell like it. Didn't we have a thread about a knicker drawer and perfume or similar? I'll have to look back...

FloofyFoolishYetFragrant · 19/10/2020 11:44

Tender sounds lovely btw. I am eyeing up a sample of Blousy atm...

teta · 19/10/2020 12:37

I've just typed up a long post... then promptly lost it!
Such a pretty description of Tender . I think i pick up slightly different notes to you but I haven't trialled it properly yet.
Must remedy that.
Sotd is Profumum Roma Neroli as it has the gorgeous Myrrh adding richness & longevity.
I'm feeling happy due to having freshly highlighted hair and my new coat 😁.
Got to take your pleasures where you can nowadays .I'm glad everyone's enjoying their shower gels and the scent, even if the candles were a disappointment.

Sotd m&s Vanilla Woods. I won't be getting an fb of this bit its pleasant.

Shrillharridan · 19/10/2020 19:03

Sote 4160 damn rebel bitches...love it!
Are we doing an advent calendar this year? Obv understand if folks don't want to take the (Covid-19) risk.
Was so lovely last year though 🎄
We have finished decorating mums flat! 5 weeks of hard graft. I'm knackered.
Moving day supposed to be next Thursday...please keep everything crossed!!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/10/2020 19:27

SOTD Diptyque Eau Duelle.

We could do an advent calendar without swapping? Although I was never quarantining post or washing shopping so am happy to send.

FloraMacDonald · 19/10/2020 21:38

Shrill just a wee thank you for the ACCD, which I've been wearing since you sent the samples. I think I've convinced myself to buy a FB! I'm glad the well-wrapped parcel cheered you up.
I'm pleased you agree with me about Black Calamus - I love it so much!
Well done on the redecorating!
Not sure about the advent calendar - not because of covid, just because I never really know what to write and I feel like a perfumista fraud. I love reading everyone else's eloquence, I just can't match it.

MrsLorenson · 19/10/2020 21:49

Happy to do or not do a calendar this year. If you'd like one setting up happy to help, or happy to pass on the baton. Have a personal preference to stay out of post offices, but that's about it. (Would be possible to have both swappers and self-reporters in the same calendar).

Think you are being very hard on yourself, Flora, but it absolutely shouldn't feel like a burden or chore.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 19/10/2020 21:54

We could do favourite autumn/wintry scents, like we did with spring?

Shrillharridan · 19/10/2020 21:57

Ooooh
Yes autumn/winter scents would be good. We could do our own sample choice?
Just get given 2 dates to post a review like last year?
Happy to do whatever.
I might wear ACDD tomorrow!

MrsLorenson · 19/10/2020 22:18

Would need 12 of us in for autumn/winter faves, two dates each.

Shrillharridan · 19/10/2020 22:28

I'm in! 😃🎄

teta · 19/10/2020 23:24

Me too🎄☃️.

FloraMacDonald · 20/10/2020 07:53

I follow a Facebook group called 'Tat posh people buy.' It usually has pictures of designer stuff for squllions of ££. The other day someone added an advert for ffern. Grin
Are we posh? Our fragrances certainly aren't tat, they bring so much joy!
