I'm wearing Rose too today. Malle Lipstick Rose. It's so pretty in cooler weather once the Aldehydes have burnt off. I think this is an older 10 ml refill as it's really lasting well and the presentation has changed a bit in recent years.

SOTD Black Opium.

I mentioned on Instagram Stories how crap that Embers candle was and someone from St Eval messaged me - they are going to send a new one out on Monday. What good customer service! They offered any flavour but I was keen to see if I got a dud there.

Shrillharridan · 16/10/2020 21:56

I left pretty poor feedback on amazon...nothing!
Not on Instagram.
Sote prosody mocha muscari

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 16/10/2020 22:04

I just wonder if they had been knocking about Amazon for ages? I had to send them the batch number so they will be able to date it.

FloraMacDonald · 17/10/2020 07:57

floofy I find some of the MH complete monsters, as you put it. Most of them are gentle florals, but Vetiver Insolent & Scherzo are massive - on me anyway! If I put the tiniest spritz on it lasts all day. If I spray generously, I can smell it after a shower.

Shrill you go for it! That'll teach him!

I'm considering going into town and having a rummage in TK Maxx later. There's nothing on the website I fancy.

Benjispruce2 · 17/10/2020 08:41

Morning all. Was awake early today. Not like me on my first opportunity for a lie-in all week. Was out with the dog before 7 feeling wide awake and breezy so SOTD L’air du temps. This is the only scent that DH leans in for an extra sniff of. Avoid @ShrillharridanGrin

teta · 17/10/2020 09:03

That's good service @Judy. It's so frustrating when expensive candles turn out to be duds.
@Shrill I hear you on the annoying husband... me too.
@Floofy that's so sad you can't smell the Miller Harris perfume properly yet. I hope your lungs are feeling a little better today.
I've also woken up early with a headache after a night of hot flushes. The bloody hrt patches they've given me don't stick properly and so don't work effectively. They do however stick to my sheets & dressing gown, as though they've been super-glued.

Shrillharridan · 17/10/2020 09:51

I'm quite fed up
Oh! J
judy inspired me so I contacted amazon and they are reminding me the st eval candle :)

Shrillharridan · 17/10/2020 11:28

Refunding even

Benjispruce2 · 17/10/2020 11:47

My Jenny Glow order arrived. I can confirm that C XIX is very, very similar to Ch19. Grin Happy lady!

FloofyFoolishYetFragrant · 17/10/2020 15:52

Oh benji I love 4711 - I introduced my DCs to the delight of an ice cologne stick during the hot lockdown weather. Their soap is lovely too.

Disappointing about the St Eval, interested to know if the replacements are better. When I could be trusted with candles Grin I found their tealights were enough to scent my bedroom (admittedly a small room!) but this was a while ago.

Shrill we need to know what perfume was your weapon of choice against your DH!

Teta I've not had HRT patches (although filing this info when I need them) but I've had patches for pain relief and if you can get hold of some Hypafix tape it's the absolute dogs bollocks. I had weekly patches and the Hypafix kept them in place all week even with a daily swim.

I know you're all on the edge of your seats about the MH Velvet Cherry Grin well thank god I can't take deep breaths as I think it may see me off. Shock Definite gigantic blast of air freshener (although I think it's actually "dry spice" type notes?) however the dry down is gorgeous, still had a lovely skin scent after a shower and even better, there was still a scent on my nightdress clothes 24 hours later. I love it when perfume does that. So eventually a really beautiful, but not too sweet, cherries in syrup (expensive ones in a glass jar from some overpriced deli or F & M etc). If it smelt like this from the get go I would buy another bottle right now in case of discontinuation (is that even a word?).

I'm definitely not up to sniffing it properly at the moment so looking forward to when I can. DH has not been into the loft for The Winter Perfume Box yet (my weapon of choice here might be the hefty MG Fire bottle top but that's in the bloody box!)

Shrillharridan · 17/10/2020 16:57

You write so beautifully floofy and even though I loathe cherries 🍒 you make it sound amazing.
I wore prosody mocha Muscari which he's not keen on...
I was trying to find my NR for her which makes him sneeze 🤧
Anyone tried the Amber NR?

Shrillharridan · 17/10/2020 16:59

I've just had a bath in heyland and whittle Rose and neroli bath oil.
I think I might go for something light

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 17/10/2020 20:15

SOTD MH L’air de Rien.

I had a lovely long bath this afternoon, listening to old episodes of Desert Island Discs, and reading my book. I had huge bubbles instead of oil - Imperial Leather marshmallow flavour.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 17/10/2020 23:46

Managed to snag 3 Philosphy perfumes in tkmaxx today at £3.99 each for 15mls. Havent tried them yet but im sure i will like them, i like the other philosphy fragrances ive had before

SOTD is the remnants of ANgel that i had on 3 nights ago! its sure a monset in terms of longevity

1frenchfoodie · 18/10/2020 08:45

SOTD DS&Durga Amber Kiso, bought a sample as I love their Amber Teutonic. Kiso is darker and smokier (with a sort of chemical, varnish initial hit which feels very D&S) but without the warmth of teutonic; I’ll enjoy wearing the sample while it lasts but this is far from FB territory (not at D&S’ eyewatering prices).

Interesting that you say you are confident in liking all Philosophy perfumes OneNight, D&S Durga are probably the only perfume brand I could say that for.

How long do you have to bear the airfreshener for the drydown plase floofy? I loove those fancy glass jarred amerena cherries (my SousChef treat), intriged by the idea of them in perfume form.

Benjispruce2 · 18/10/2020 09:51

Jenny Glow CXIC lasted all day and I could still smell it in my hair and on my jumper this morning. What I’ve always liked about Chanel no19 is that it’s green but has an almost incense-like, aromatic base. My sister used to wear Clinique Aromatics which I loved on her but found too much for me. This version reminds me of that but more subtle. So it’s my sotd today too.

Benjispruce2 · 18/10/2020 09:53

Oh and at £7.99 for 30ml EDP I can spray liberally.

Boglins · 18/10/2020 09:57

Morning all, just popping in with a PSA about Les Senteurs sample service...

FloofyFoolishYetFragrant · 18/10/2020 10:33

Ooh that's interesting benji as I think Chanels are hard to "dupe" I've never found a satisfactory one! I think it was judy who reignited my 19 love - I had a BF in the 90s that wore it and it put me off for years GrinI thought he was a knob at the time but now I think he was ahead of his time Smile

@1frenchfoodie I can't really judge the Cherry yet as I'm coughing still but actually I'm really interested to see what someone else thinks of it, can I send you a little decant? My nightdress clothes smell wonderful still two days later!

Judy is that the Imperial Leather marshmallow that also comes as a shower gel that turns to foam? I think it's called unicorn marshmallow - DH loves it. He made me laugh as he came back from the shop with loads of it, and (the gender stereotyping is strong in this post isn't it, I am actually very GC) he looks like the least likely person to buy anything with unicorn marshmallow in the name Grin Does anyone else like the shower gel that turns to mousse/foam? I love The Source lemon one. I like the Source in general and the tingly mint one.

Boglins have you been MIA or have I just been reading the threads too quickly?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 18/10/2020 11:57

floofy I love these bath foams, but I think there are two different flavours afoot here - Cosmic Unicorn, and Mallow-Mazing. The marshmallow one smells a bit like Byredo Bibliotheque.

Shower-wise I like Soaper-Duper, the coconut-y ones. I used to always use Korres and then when I had that flu (Covid?) over Christmas I felt like the one I was using just couldn’t get me clean because I was so feverish and sweaty. I went right off them then and DP ended up finishing my stash.

Benjispruce2 · 18/10/2020 12:12

You can’t mess with Imperial Leather original you blasphemers!

Benjispruce2 · 18/10/2020 12:12

Preferably in bar form with the little label on it.

teta · 18/10/2020 13:15

Dealing with an angry hostile 16 year old dd2 here. So need calming vibes.... maybe Phaedon Hesperys.
I'm watching Emily In Paris and really enjoying it . Rather more for the other characters than Emily & her annoying clothes. Anyone else have this as their guilty pleasure?
