@luggageandbags thanks, your robe is beautiful, and that dress looks wonderful on you, but if you're not happy in it then you'll never wear it (speaking from experience hereHmm)

Countmeout · 16/09/2020 07:50

You definitely do not look huge @luggageandbags. I think the shape of Toast clothes sometimes needs us to adjust our perception of what is a fit. (Sorry if that doesn’t make sense)
Nice gown too. What length is it on you? I sometimes wonder do they end up being longer than on the model if not as tall.
I really love that pattern in your purchase @Laska2Meryls. Looks great.

luggageandbags · 16/09/2020 09:21

@neveradullmoment99 @Saurus72 @DameCelia @Countmeout

Ooooh I thought I was going to hear an unanimous send it back verdict.
I'll try it on again. Thank you for the encouragement, I do adore this dress.

I think you are right, that it maybe takes a shift in perspective, I'm no stranger to loose fitting clothes but I think my dresses and skirts have been more on the fitted side.

The gown is mid calf, which is right for me, I fear for my life going up the stairs in long skirts.

parttimepunk · 16/09/2020 09:28

Delurking to say that that dress looks amazing on you @luggageandbags. I've been eyeing it up on the Toast website and after seeing it on you I think I'll order it. Just to decide now whether to get it in plain navy or in the check .....

AFingerofFudge · 16/09/2020 12:27

I placed my order last Thursday and still haven't received it - supposedly was going to be delivered today by 12 but nothing so far.
I know I sound really entitle saying this, but if you spend £395 (some going back!) I would expect something a bit better than this in terms of delivery service.
I spent £60 yesterday buying scrubs for work from Lucy & Yak (two different sizes, again some going back) and they arrived this morning !

Countmeout · 16/09/2020 17:33

That’s annoying @AFingerofFudge though our postal service seems to be all over the place with various different postmen coming at all sorts of times. Toast’s refunds mind you have been impressive this week for me, posted jumper back on Monday got email refunding this afternoon.

VinylDetective · 16/09/2020 17:39

@luggageandbags, do reconsider. That dress looks beautiful, I’m deeply envious, if only it would look half as good on me ...

AFingerofFudge · 16/09/2020 17:40

I rang Toast and apart from saying sorry a number of times they could offer no possible reason or remedy. They said they would ring me on Saturday to see if it had arrived. That was the only thing they could do they said, which wasn't massively impressive but hey, it's not a big deal really it was just annoying this morning as once I'd had the text saying it was going to be delivered then I'd got all excited!!
Anyway I did also rang Royal Mail (zero fucks given there too pardon my language) who didn't know why it hadn't been delivered and again just told me to wait.
I was on a day off so had hoped to swan about trying on my new gear but I'll just have to suck it up for now!

My delivery has been incredibly slow also. Was posted to me I think last week and arrived today! It was posted but checking it on Monday, it hadn't even made it to Royal Mail! Its said it was awaiting the parcel. It is absolutely as slow as a snail. Toast used to offer kindred next day delivery. It is AWFUL!

I don’t think this is on Toast, Royal Mail has been really slow, apparently they have been having Christmas volume of deliveries since March but without employing extra people to deal with the surge. Plus lots of posties are off with symptoms etc. A friend of mine works there and it’s been really stressful for the staff.

AFingerofFudge · 16/09/2020 21:14

@luggageandbags I know it's out of their hands once it has been sent off, I'm just amazed that most online stores manage to get stuff out faster. It'll teach me to be patient hopefully, and less immediate self gratification Grin

slipperyeel · 17/09/2020 07:54

I returned a Bea nightdress last week as it had developed small holes after just one wash, they have refunded me AND sent a replacement. Pretty impressed with that.

MikeUniformMike · 17/09/2020 10:13

Royal Mail took nearly a month to deliver a parcel I sent at the end of July.

Countmeout · 17/09/2020 10:33

Well Zara and Royal Mail have generally surpassed themselves except for a brief period early in lockdown. Parcel arriving today ordered Tuesday. I think their dispatch is particularly efficient. Toast tell Royal Mail it’s coming (ie print the label) but then it takes a little longer to be collected by Royal Mail/ actually dispatched.

Anyhoo anyone bought anything in the colour described as Papaya? Trying to guess what colour it it, is it more orange than brown would you say?

Countmeout · 17/09/2020 13:12

Sale on!!!!!

ilovecherries · 17/09/2020 13:16

I have bought a second pair of the cotton canvas trousers in the sale (khaki this time). I’ve worn the ivory ones to death and they are just the right weight for transitional dressing. I also seem to have been given a post pass. I tried to buy one and it wouldn’t let me - said it wasnt time to renew - and when I got to check out I got free postage on a £40 order.

Countmeout · 17/09/2020 13:23

Well done @ilovecherries nice to get something you’re sure you will get a lot of wear out of. I’ve ordered the check board dress to try a lilac blouse and the grey checked gown (in a small , last gown I bought was M and it was too big) Thanks to @luggageandbags for the length information.

AuldFox · 17/09/2020 14:05

@Countmeout

Sale on!!!!!
Thank you for your kind service Grin

Ordered a few dresses in a mix of size 10/12 so they won’t all stay but some surely will. Finally got my mitts on a denim dress I wanted. All the recent photos posted up thread look fabulous!

slipperyeel · 17/09/2020 14:17

Thanks @Countmeout - I’ve ordered the wax parka in a 14, I tried a 12 in the previous sale and it was too narrow across the shoulders.

AmethystMoonShine · 17/09/2020 14:32

Oh thank you for the sale alert!

I bought the navy cotton dhuggie. I also got free postage, which I’m most pleased by Grin

Countmeout · 17/09/2020 16:17

Great @AmethystMoonShine @slipperyeel @AuldFox.
Look forward to seeing your purchases when they arrive.

MotherofPearl · 17/09/2020 16:18

Yes thanks indeed for the sale alert!

I've bought the multi check kimono gown and the lightweight merino sweater in wine. I never thought I needed one of those kimono gowns but since it looks like I'm going to be WFH for the foreseeable, I quite fancy one for the winter. Next on my list of cosy WFH buys is going to be the felted wool suede slippers. Grin

NoCureForLove · 17/09/2020 16:31

Thanks from me too re sale alert! Have now bought things I want but don't neeeed. The cotton twill coat in ochre, a sameish colour cotton tee for £25, a vlassic white poplin shirt and 2 bamboo slips. Very pleased with myself even if some goes back Smile

Moominmammaatsea · 17/09/2020 16:43

@Countmeout, I’ve not been on for ages, but I could hear the sale jungle drums all the way from here! Thanks a million for the early warning system!

I bought the grey and white cotton gingham gown (£50 instead of £125) and the windowpane check dress (£48 instead of £150). Very pleased!

@MotherofPearl, I have that kimono gown; you won’t regret it, I promise.

Moominmammaatsea · 17/09/2020 16:44

Just to add, my Toast Post Pass has also been reinstated.
