I don’t know about the cords but the Gabi twill definitely give a bit with wear. I’ve washed my navy pair and there was no shrinkage either.
I love the look of the wool Gabi but I couldn’t be annoyed with dry cleaning.
Has someone on here not already tried the Gabi cords?
Anyone have the Annie denim and can give an idea of fit.?

ToastCosILoveIt · 11/10/2020 12:51

Ilovecherries, I am tempted to keep the 10s and use them as an incentive.

I have lost my lockdown stone and am now working on my perimenopausal stone. I am sure i have seen a couple of you from this thread over on Bootcamp.

Yes, I am joining the next one starting tomorrow! I’ve half-heartedly been trying to deal with my lockdown 12 since June, and I haven’t put on any more since then, but it needs to go now before I add a winter 7 to it! I lost nearly 6 stone with b/c 4 years ago, and never regained a pound of it till sodding covid came along!
ToastCosILoveIt · 11/10/2020 13:29

Ilovecherries that is some achievement to lose and to keep off. I assume you stuck to the bootcamp way of eating with the occasional treat? See you on the thread and I will be joining you tomorrow although I am already eating in that way but using My Fitness Pal to count calories which I know is a no no :(.

AuldFox · 11/10/2020 14:34

I’ve lost my lockdown 6 lb but trying to lose another stone to get to the toast (generous) size 10. Smile

NoCureForLove · 11/10/2020 14:50

I'm back in bootcamp tomorrow too! See some of you there. Lost 4 stone a few years ago and kept it off - til Covid when suddenly pasta seemed like the answer. Smile

faustina · 11/10/2020 16:29

ok here are pics of the pinafore which is definitely going back. I thought perhaps of changing it for a bigger size but trying it on again, I don't think it's the size, more the style that just doesn't suit me. I think if you were more straight up and down it might look better?

AuldFox · 11/10/2020 16:31

I actually like it on you! But if you’re not feeling it, send it back.

faustina · 11/10/2020 16:34

@ilovecherries - the Gabi twill trousers stretch a bit after wearing for a couple of days, but when washed go back to their original shape. They're very forgiving though - the elasticated waist and the stretch in the twill. If the cord ones have a similar stretch I'd keep the 10s if I were you! Which colour did you get?

faustina · 11/10/2020 16:36

@AuldFox - thanks! It just feels a bit stiff and clingy and doesn't seem to hang in the way I thought it might. I love the pockets!

faustina · 11/10/2020 16:41

@Yorkshirelass04 - I would love to see the check culottes if you wouldn't mind! It's so helpful seeing them on a real person

Boiledeggandtoast · 11/10/2020 16:53

faustina I think that looks great on you! I'm now considering it....

Countmeout · 11/10/2020 17:22

I think it looks great @faustina but if it’s not comfortable don’t keep it.

Yorkshirelass04 · 11/10/2020 17:35

Flecky cashmere jumper. As described and very soft!

Toast the fourth!
faustina · 11/10/2020 17:41

@Yorkshirelass04 - that's a beautiful shade of yellow. Are you keeping it?

Yorkshirelass04 · 11/10/2020 17:43

@faustina Definitely! I have dark hair so the yellow really works.

I have other jumpers in muted tones but this one makes me feel jolly :)

Will try on the culottes in a while. My intention is to dress those up with a simple tee and heels.

neveradullmoment99 · 11/10/2020 17:59

Love the pinafore. I have one that is similar.
Love the yellow jumper.
I had ordered the culottes [gingham] They just didnt work on me. I would love to see them on again though. They were quite big on me tbh.

I also like that pinafore on you, Faustina but if you are not keen, you won’t wear. I have one very similar and it’s quite heavy denim - I like it myself but it’s very individual.

My favourite shade of yellow, Yorkshirelass.

So today I’ve sorted out yet another vast heap of goodies for eBay. I’m trying to change my relationship with my clothes from lots and lots of variable quality to less and less of really good quality. I’ve spent big on Toast - mainly timeless classic pieces - and hope I’m wearing them for a while yet!

I have the twill in navy and the cord in slate. So comfy, just love them both. I have to do a wiggle and a jump to get them past my bum in the 10 though!

ilovecherries · 11/10/2020 20:14

I tried that as well, it was very tight on the hips, but baggy and gaping at the top - to he extent it kept slipping off one shoulder. I have the summer weight one from a couple of years ago in a linen blend and it’s fine.
faustina · 11/10/2020 21:59

@ilovecherries - about the pinafore - yes, it gaped a bit on top for me too. I think I was hoping it would be a bit looser all round. It was nicely made though - just not for me.

I've seen the summer version on eBay but might give clothes buying a miss for a little while now as I'm keeping the cord dress (after having a word with toast about the crumpled-ness of it tomorrow). Just one more pair of boots, and I think I know which they'll be.

About the Gabi - If they're comfy once you've done the wiggle, and you're on a diet, I would stick with the 10s! Which size actually looks better?

SewingBeeAddict · 11/10/2020 22:06

Ive got that pinafore in the denim and black.
I just pull it down over my hips and it loosens .
I do have boobs though to fill the top.
I get so many comments about both, literally everytime I put them on.
I think it looks lovely on you @faustina.
I shove my hands in the pockets all day, bliss

Saurus72 · 11/10/2020 22:38

@faustina it looks fantastic on you but no point keeping it if you know it’s not right. I have the denim and black versions from a couple of years ago and I’ve worn them to death, looks like they’re a bit of a different fit though.

@Craftycorvid excellent re: eBay, it’s very satisfying isn’t it. I’m amazed by how much stuff (clothes/shoes/jewellery) I’ve sold and the fact that I literally don’t miss it because I clearly hadn’t worn it for so long. I feel there’s more I can sell on, but I need to be careful I don’t sell too much 😬.

Laska2Meryls · 12/10/2020 08:21

Love the yellow jumper looks gorgeous. Yorkshirelass
I have also got a lot more on ebay and yes haven't missed any of it . Plus I am now making sure that I actually wear the lovely new Toast stuff I am buying.. ( having daid that, I still have a couple of dresses I haven't yet, and the slate linen jacket.. but I am blaming covid for that.. definitely would have if the things that I had bought them for had gone ahead..

Laska2Meryls · 12/10/2020 08:23

Oh and I am back on bootcamp also today!
