@Ellapaella Yes, I have bought from Finisterre. Very nice quality. I have bought a couple of their jackets in the sale and they have been great. My husband likes their clothes too and has bought quite a bit there, again good quality, washes and lasts well.

Yorkshirelass04 · 04/10/2020 14:15

I think I'm going to order the yellow jumper. Anyone got a sneaky code?

faustina · 04/10/2020 15:04

@Yorkshirelass04 - I have if you've never ordered from Toast before? PM me if you want it

Yorkshirelass04 · 04/10/2020 23:00

@faustina ah sorry but I have!

Anyone any idea when the sale starts? Happy to pay full price but not if it's going to be all reduced very soon!

Countmeout · 05/10/2020 08:19

Thanks @Saurus72and @faustina. I can vouch that it’s wonderful to wrap yourself in for an after lunch snooze if you’re into that sort of thing.
So dark and wet here this morning I may just wrap myself up and never come out again.
I’ve sold a few bits on eBay too so all good.

MaudesMum · 05/10/2020 09:30

I've just looked and Finisterre only go up to size 16, presumably because active outdoorsy people aren't fat. Which is a shame, as they've got some nice stuff.

ilovecherries · 05/10/2020 12:30

Three things delivered. Two going back - but I love the thing I’m keeping and the returns were an easy decision.
Going back - broken stripe sweater. Loved it on others, but it gave me line backers shoulders and gorilla arms. Checked asymmetric shirt - just felt a bit gloomy in it.

Keeping - lofty alpaca cardigan in sapphire. Gorgeous colour, very soft. Did size up which I’m glad about.

Laska2Meryls · 05/10/2020 13:48

Shame about the broken striped jumper, Cherries , I have lived in mine since our camping holiday.. but Alpaca jumper looks fab ..
I have just nabbed the green easy sweater as one came back in stock and luckily had a code to use as well.. I am still waiting for the S graphic jumper though hanging onto the M until it arrives.. ( but really it is too big) ..

ToastCosILoveIt · 05/10/2020 15:08

This thread has made me more Toast obsessed than ever and I have gone completely crazy looking at knitwear...

faustina · 05/10/2020 18:24

Did anyone not manage to get the wide denim trousers in the JL sale in a size 8 and still wants them? I can't remember what they were called now, but they fasten at the waist with two buttons either side

Anyway I've decided I can't make mine work - I'm just not tall enough - so thought I'd offer them on here first for whatever John Lewis charged me (they're bnwt) I think they were £58 but will check. I'll leave it for a few days, then pop them on eBay for a bit more than that.

Laska2Meryls · 06/10/2020 10:06

Shame that they font work on you Faustina .. They wouldn't fit me sadly but yes if you ebay them, you are bound to get your money back..
I have a couple of Toast jumpers that I am going to be put up I think.. ( to make way for new ones!).

Laska2Meryls · 06/10/2020 10:10

I decided to send back myM oat/charcoal graphic jumper after measuring it against last years blue and green yoked jumper ( sz L which I got in the sale) .. it was much larger widthwise and much shorter.. Toast do seem to have made their knitwear short this year.. I love my broken striped jumper and have worn it lots but I do wish that it was longer

Laska2Meryls · 06/10/2020 10:11

Am not sure now if I will keep the S when it arrives for the same reason..

faustina · 06/10/2020 10:26

It's funny isn't it @Laska2Meryls - and when you look at the description on the website, it's not always accurate about length

Laska2Meryls · 06/10/2020 10:53

They don't seem to have so many photos on models( maybe because models are usually tall?) and it does make it hard to judge.. I kept the green striped breton but that is also very short.. I will wear a longer vest top under...
Am hoping that the green easy sweater will be longer.. it does seem so by the description.

faustina · 06/10/2020 11:06

Yes, that one definitely looks longer. I guess the lack of models is something to do with he pandemic? I wanted to buy some cord trousers and have no idea how the new ones (tapered?) would look on a person - impossible to tell! It's been so useful seeing pics on here

I will stick the trousers on eBay if no-one here wants them. I'm having a wild success on there with the Blundstones I didn't want in the end - I have kept two pairs and will possibly keep another, but I had to order a few to find the right size/style

AFingerofFudge · 06/10/2020 14:18

@faustina I have been stalking the Blundstone boots on ebay (maybe yours?!) as I missed out on the TK Maxx ones; I'm a large 5- depending on brand I wear 5 or 6, how do they come up?

faustina · 06/10/2020 16:21

@AFingerofFudge I am between a 5 and a 6 too! The 5.5 is perfect for me, though the 6 would be fine as well. If you read the Blundstone website sizing advice, apparently a 5.5 in Australia just means a wide 5. I sold two pairs already and have one other to put on which is a six - and maybe another which is a 5.5. which style are you stalking?

AFingerofFudge · 06/10/2020 16:33

@faustina this type, not necessarily this colour!

AFingerofFudge · 06/10/2020 16:34

Oops, pressed post too quickly!Grin

Toast the fourth!
faustina · 06/10/2020 16:43

ah - those are the ones I'm keeping in the same colour in a 5.5. I had them in navy but sold those last week I think. They're really comfortable - hope you manage to get some!

The ones I don't want are both lace ups - the shiraz (in a 6 - am keeping the 5.5) and the brown grainy leather (in 5.5)

Toast the fourth!
NoCureForLove · 06/10/2020 18:12

I am contemplating these - Clarks Originals - which are said to be men's shoes - but they come in some pretty small sizes! Any thoughts? I have only worn Air an Grace trainers and slippers since lockdown - but feel the weather demands something sturdier...

NoCureForLove · 06/10/2020 18:14

I wear a lot of denim (including Toast denim dresses of which I am an avid collector) and have a hankering for brown shoes...

NoCureForLove · 06/10/2020 18:19

And have ordered these kin denim trousers too. Bargain compared to Toast prices but depends what they are like in rl. Hoping they'll be considerably longer on my short arse...

Craftycorvid · 06/10/2020 18:20

faustina I’m sure I have ogled your blundies on eBay Grin but 5.5 would run large on me. I’m exactly a 5 in Blundstones (wear mine loads and they grip like nothing else in wet weather).
