What to do with curly hair? Pics

Just as the title really. I follow the CGM. Quite happy with the curls (albeit a bit frizzy this evening). But sometimes think it is just a bit shapeless/no real style. Added with the grey I think I need to do something to just make the shape better?

Any thoughts? Opinions. Can take bluntness and honesty so hit me with it.

A few more layers? Piecey bits around my cheekbones? Cut it shorter? Grow it longer? Do I have any stylish options you could recommend?

Help please?

Perhaps totally unhelpful but I love it as it is. Smile Honestly i think i looks really cool, sometimes you know, if it aint broke.

Marmaladegin · 01/09/2020 22:34

Do you have an Afro comb? I follow cg too and find a bit of a floof with a comb around the crown makes mine look a bit more exciting.

Frankiegoes · 01/09/2020 22:35

I also think it looks great that length on you.

Deux · 01/09/2020 22:37

Gorgeous hair. What about a side parting? Would that work?

Heartlake · 01/09/2020 22:39

You need an amazing strong orangey red lipstick, very neutral eyes and sharp black liner/lashes... Your hair is fab.

ShirleyPhallus · 01/09/2020 22:40

I love the colour. More women should embrace the grey, it looks great

No comments as I think it looks good as it is. However, I think you could be a bit more bold in style. Some thick rimmed glasses would look great on you. Maybe some red lipstick. You know that “bonkers but stylish art teacher” vibe?

Are you that poster with the nice wooden floorboards in your bedroom?

HollowTalk · 01/09/2020 22:41

I'd love to have hair like that!

Springb0ks · 01/09/2020 22:45

Oh my word- you do nothing. Those curls are beautiful and the style suits you. You are so pretty!

WhereToCut · 01/09/2020 22:48

Wow. Thank you for the replies.

And yes, wooden floorboards.

Maybe you are right, it is not the hair lacking"oomph" but the rest of me 😀😀.

I rarely can be faffed with lipstick, but with the grey hair maybe I do need to add something to stop me disappearing into old age 😀

Why are you only showing us the "after" pictures ?

Bellabelloo · 01/09/2020 22:52

I have curly hair too and was about to join you in solidarity of how difficult it is to make it look nice. But then I saw your photos and yours is gorgeous! I would love mine to look like yours!

Fatted · 01/09/2020 23:00

The curls and style I think are great.

All I would say about your colour is it is a little bit uneven, particularly at the ends where some old colour looks like it's still hanging around. I'd trim those last little bits off. Perhaps get some kind of colour (high lights and low lights?) through it to keep the grey, but even things out a little bit and just make it a little glossier.

I definitely think some vibrant make up would look great on you as well as vibrant clothes. The grey t-shirt is doing you a disservice.

I definitely needs some ends trimmed. It is all my own colour, not dyed since early 2015, but it is very salt and pepper..a real nice of my original brown, white and grey. TBH after the hell of growing out the dye I am loathe to go down that route again.

I like the grey t-shirt but I think you and PP are right, I need some colour somewhere. So I need to take that into account when I wear it.

Thank you for the curl love. I am used to them (had em for nearly 49 years so not really surprising).

I do think the length/shape makes my face look very long though...hence wondered if I needed to widen it a bit at the cheekbones or add a fringe?

I do have a root fluffed thing somewhere (one of my many, msny hair-taming purchases). I shall dig it out. Good idea,, thank you.

I would second the person the said more volume. Your curls look lovely and you can see it is in amazing condition. Maybe a bit of a trim and a couple more layers and fluff it right out.

IlovecatsyesIdo · 01/09/2020 23:22

You look fantastic, I wish my curls would look like this but in reality I’d need to buy a wig to look like you!
I like the length and style. Be careful with a fringe, it can puff outwards with curly hair.
I don’t think you need to change anything but maybe visit a curl specialist hair stylist to see what they suggest if you do want a change.

ilovepixie · 01/09/2020 23:34

Your hair is amazing. I'm so jealous I always wanted curly hair.

Fozzleyplum · 01/09/2020 23:35

You have really good hair and the grey suits your colouring. I would have a blunt cut to chin length, to get rid of the brown ends and to stop it being weighed down. I might also look at trying to part it to one side, but only if it doesn't turn to not a huge effort to "re train" it into a new parting.

GhostTypeEevee · 01/09/2020 23:37

You look absolutely amazing!

BluebellsGreenbells · 01/09/2020 23:38

Wow! It’s lovely. Maybe a shocking pink curl or a bright purple one?

Splash of colour!!

SauvignonGrower · 01/09/2020 23:43

You have the good version of my hair. Lucky you!

Sorry that made me laugh. But in sympathy. Here are my curls pre-cgm a couple of years ago. A ridiculously flattering photo thanks to the lighting, but you can see how meh the curls were It helps that it is now longer (so can corkscrew) but 18 months of proper CGM have done wonders....

OK. So have floofed it and out on some lipstick (only one I can find). I may need to work on my floofing technique. Can you see any difference?
