I'm still seeing so many cold shoulder tops. Who is buying these monstrosoties?!

Ruffles don't seem to be going anywhere either.

Tattoos.

Coniferhedge · 25/08/2020 12:58

Low slung jeans. To my mind they only look good on women with ironing board flat stomachs or teenage girls. Of which I am neither.

SummerSummerSummertime · 25/08/2020 13:01

Leave leopard print ALONE!!!

QuestionableMouse · 25/08/2020 13:04

@merryhouse

thewiseoneincognito men who skip leg day

What does this even mean? Grin

Men with massive upper bodies and the legs of a twelve year old.

I'm not sure skinny jeans will ever go away really. They've been around forever and lots of people still love them and feel comfortable in them so i think they're here for the long haul!

I don't suit them but I don't think I suit any jeans to be honest.
@badacorn don’t get me wrong I’m fine with flats etc, but just not trainers and dresses? I find it just looks odd

Personally I prefer heels (for myself), but I find them comfortable 🤷🏻‍♀️
I love trainers (or boots) with dresses. Have been wearing dresses like this for years. HATE heels. They're not comfortable and they look dated often enough. DD's never worn heels in her life and probably never will.

lightlypoached · 25/08/2020 13:08

For posh blokes, men in knee length tight pink shorts and navy boat shoes, topped off with a polo shirt with the collar turned up.

StyleandBeautyfail · 25/08/2020 13:09

@AnaViaSalamanca

going to be flamed for this, but trainers with dresses/skirts
Not by me! Ugh those HUGE floppy dresses and white trainers. The charity shops will be having with floppy dresses soon
StyleandBeautyfail · 25/08/2020 13:09

Heaving

Rebelwithallthecause · 25/08/2020 13:11

Sliders anywhere but the pool
Crop tops (only because I’m jealous I couldn’t pull it off post 2 c sections)
Coats that look like duvets

I do however love my skinny jeans and they will be with my for as long as possible

Allgreyeverything · 25/08/2020 13:18

(Sorry), I also hate trainers with those awful 7/8 tea dresses (sorry again). Trying to be sporty? Trying to be cute? I juts don’t understand.
Gucci belts and LV bags
Highlighter on the tip of the nose 🤢
The clear plastic high heel shoes where you can see the steam from the toes 🤮

@IncludeWomenInTheSequel

“ I see so many shorter girls wearing such an unflattering shape for their body morphology just because of a trend.”

I have been working really hard on changing my attitude to clothes, in that their main purpose (shock horror) is not to make me look like I'm shrinking. They're to make me feel happy and be comfortable.

I understand why we are all stuck in the mindset of 'must look skinny and never wear anything which hints otherwise' but FUCK that. Life is too short. Wear whatever you want if you feel like it.

Agree with you 100%

To each their own I guess. For me heels are comfortable, but I always buy good quality heels as I find they fit better. I don’t spend all day on my feet though.

I reserve trainers for summer dog walks and the gym. I have no objection to trainers and jeans, it’s specifically dresses where I just don’t think it looks quite right, especially the chunky thick heeled platform things that seem to be popular today.

Wolfgirrl · 25/08/2020 13:34

Desert boots on men. Reminds me of prince harry

everwork · 25/08/2020 13:35

@enyemaka

Skinny jeans. They don’t work on anyone!
They look amazing on me. Hmm

They suited me but they are out of fashion 🤔

I like it until every single person started doing it then it just looked boring and predictable
everwork · 25/08/2020 13:36

Skinny jeans aren't out of fashion in the real world, don't worry about it

Bathroom12345 · 25/08/2020 13:37

Eye brows definitely and those silly trousers that young men wear that makes them walk like they are wearing a nappy - and you can see their boxers! Looks really really stupid and they have been around for far too long...

Therarestone · 25/08/2020 13:39

Anything that can possibly be traced back to the Kardashians.

Wolfgirrl · 25/08/2020 13:39

For those saying skinny jeans, what Jean shapes would be more flattering? You cant be thinking of boot cuts???

One size is never going to fit all because everyone is so different. That’s the difference between following fashion and trends, and having real unique style.

It’s taken me 40 years to realise that I have a long body and short legs, and am a bit of a pear as well, so I need to dress for my proportions, not for what’s in fashion. High waists, straight or cigarette cut and 7/8 leg lengths really suit me. Low-waisted skinny jeans definitely don’t.

Jumpers that finish just above my hips look great. If they sit on, or lower than my hips, I look like a dumpy potato. Unless I French tuck (I am never not going to do that - Frenchs tuck til I die). Always v necks or boat necks, can’t do crew neck anything. Etc...

So, it’s all relative. Except for a tiny number of things that definitely don’t look good on anyone. I agree with cold shoulder tops - they always look trashy and cheap, no matter who is wearing them or how they’re styled. The other trend that does nothing for anyone is those massive floral maxi dresses. They look like 70s nighties. If you’re 6ft tall, slender, and in an editorial feature for Vogue, maybe you can just about pull it off. Anyone else: no.

I don’t really understand the overdone lip filler thing either. But when you’re talking about people’s actual faces, it starts to feel a bit unkind. Once you start messing around with your own features, there’s some psychological stuff going on there that needs unpacking rather than mocking.

Bloomburger · 25/08/2020 13:44

I tried to get my fave skinny jeans from Whistles over lockdown and was told they no longer sold them. They've replaced them with BARREL fit, WTF who wants to look like a barrel!

I hate leggings as trousers, ugg boots, gym wear on people who aren't going to go to the gym, today whilst wearing it or ever, wellies for women, anything MK and jazzy raincoats.
