I'm still seeing so many cold shoulder tops. Who is buying these monstrosoties?!

Ruffles don't seem to be going anywhere either.

Oh another one - insanely white teeth a la Ross from Friends when he had his teeth done.

“ I see so many shorter girls wearing such an unflattering shape for their body morphology just because of a trend.”

But that’s fashion. Not everyone wants something that is flattering/pretty - if we did, we would all walk around in cutesy pink dresses like Liz Hurley. Fashion is about looking cool - sometimes at the expense of looking slim. That’s why Man Repeller was named that way.

Also - for those who missed the memo, skinny jeans are out and have been for a long time. I say this as someone who wears them (too short to wear what came after), they suit me so I carry on, but I’m under no illusions that they are fashionable

FiveShelties · 25/08/2020 12:14

Leggings worn as trousers. Especially white partially see-through.
Slug brows
Wearings PJs out of the house.

badacorn · 25/08/2020 12:16

@grumpsy

Comfortable women’s shoes will never be a popular trend

Rockbird · 25/08/2020 12:17

Please tell us what fat people are allowed to wear. No skinny jeans because we're not skinny, no tops that dare to show a roll of flesh. No leggings, no sports wear. And if we have the cheek to be short as well. Oh my goodness! I'm here with a notepad waiting...

A nice hessian sack will do us Rockbird. Maybe grey for a change and if you are feeling jaunty.
Squidwitch · 25/08/2020 12:22

Children wearing leggings with normal length tops. Fine with dress or tunic, but as an adult would you really wear leggings with a waist length top? They just look like someone forgot something from their outfit, like tights and a top

ClinkyMonkey · 25/08/2020 12:23

I'm happy to continue with my parsnip legs. They're my best featureGrin

Grumpsy · 25/08/2020 12:24

@badacorn don’t get me wrong I’m fine with flats etc, but just not trainers and dresses? I find it just looks odd

Personally I prefer heels (for myself), but I find them comfortable 🤷🏻‍♀️

Carycy · 25/08/2020 12:34

Midi length
full length floral bloody dresses that seem to be everywhere. Always too Long for me at 5”3 and swamp me.
Gathered waist dresses.

I wish leggings were fashionable again. I only wear short dresses due to above mentioned issues but it’s too warm for tights yet and to cold for bare legs. I miss wearing leggings but aware it’s a bit frumpy Mum these days.

netsybetsy · 25/08/2020 12:35

@WhatamessIgotinto

Standing pigeon-toed for photos - is it supposed to make you look slimmer?

Oh god @netsybetsy I couldn't agree more. It looks ridiculous and I just think 'why are you standing like that, you're not 3'.

Crop top with high waisted spandex trousers. Makes your bum look really long.

DancingCatGif · 25/08/2020 12:37

Wideleg trousers, they make everyone look dowdy

Trainers with anything other than jeans or sports apparel

Converse

Wolfgirrl · 25/08/2020 12:38

I bloody love floral midi dresses. Comfy, cool, feminine. Nothing worse than denim shorts in hot weather, basically guaranteed thrush (or is it just me Blush lol). No skirts blowing up in the breeze. Would live in them if I could.

Love a good pair of pumas/vans with them as well so they look a bit more youthful and less Amish.

Sorry MN!

Wolfgirrl · 25/08/2020 12:39

If skinny jeans and leggings are out, what has replaced them?! They're all I ever see!

Deathraystare · 25/08/2020 12:43

Those flouncy puffed sleeve dresses - the smocky ones. They seem to have a lot of them in bid sizes which to me - as an apple shaped and over the age of 5, is wrong!

Though I actually saw two very slim girls wearing one (one each I mean!) on a bus and they kept trying to pull them down as they went up the stairs!

On me I would look like a rotund baby! What we used to call a "Cow and Gate baby" after the milk formula. My dad was a Cow and Gate baby. We had a lovely photo of his as a (very) chubby bonny baby!

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 25/08/2020 12:44

“ I see so many shorter girls wearing such an unflattering shape for their body morphology just because of a trend.”

I have been working really hard on changing my attitude to clothes, in that their main purpose (shock horror) is not to make me look like I'm shrinking. They're to make me feel happy and be comfortable.

I understand why we are all stuck in the mindset of 'must look skinny and never wear anything which hints otherwise' but FUCK that. Life is too short. Wear whatever you want if you feel like it.

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 25/08/2020 12:45

Mum jeans - makes everyone's ass look 10x bigger

Jump suits - again, unless you've got an amazing ass they look terrible from behind! Most people wouldn't know because they can't see their own bum and no one will have the heart to tell them their bum looks a mile long.

Square toed shoes - they're not only ugly but will make you look shorter

Big thick eyebrows that look like caterpillars on your face

Chunky trainers

Dungarees - who wants to look like a toddler?

Carycy · 25/08/2020 12:47

Wolf girl skinny jeans still in. It’s the trend that won’t go. I won’t give them up now. I don’t want to relive the horror or rain water coming up my jeans in the noughties and the bottoms always being trashed.

Defaultuser · 25/08/2020 12:47

Ankle length trousers! My feet are always freezing.

MrsGrindah · 25/08/2020 12:49

Thick black tights with denim shorts. Just makes me think yeast infection.

CarolVordermansArse · 25/08/2020 12:51

Slug eyebrows
Cold shoulder tops
Culottes
Wide legged trousers
Boot cut jeans with ugly boots
Flesh coloured leggings
Arse revealing cut offs
Bodycon dresses
Grey tracksuit bottoms
I don't mind skinnies but they are not attractive on people that are not skinny
Carrot trousers (like skinnies but not quite the same)
Buns and little pony tails on too short hair so that most of the hair is like a big all round fringe
Heavy make up/contouring/clown effect look
Fake talons

SisyphusAndTheRockOfUntidiness · 25/08/2020 12:55

Slug eyebrows. In fact the whole makeup style at present, when did women (or society) decide that women's faces were so repulsive that the only thing to do was to completely cover them up & effectively resculpt them through artistic trickery?

Also, skinny jeans. They don't look good on anyone unless they're borderline underweight. Or a total gym addict. But mainly if you are, like me, a bit fat, they're totally uncomfortable when you sit down. I don't enjoy being sliced in half.

I see celebrities with ridiculously white teeth in (mostly American) programmes & I just wince. It looks so bloody obvious. Not to mention it often makes them really sensitive.

bananaskinsnomnom · 25/08/2020 12:56

I hate the filter trend! I hate seeing my friends on Instagram pouring for the camera with a filter that makes their skins so smooth and orange they look like barbie. They’re gorgeous without it. I also hate the need to stick out the tongue for so many photos.

I also hate the Instagram style photos that everyone takes on holiday / out and about. Standing up with the leg bent and toe pointing to the floor. Looking down at the floor/ at your outfit with a slight smile. The photo of you gazing out to the sunset/ out the window/ into the distance.

This is clearly why I don’t have many followers 😂

I love skinny jeans! So comfy. I’ve never really cared about what’s “in”. Likewise chunky trainers. But my feet are size 9 so these are often the most comfy!

Can’t stand socks and sliders. Can’t stand pulled up ankle socks.

Smock dresses, with my giant boobs. Make me look huge! Annoying when these are everywhere and there’s no alternative. Also struggle with crop tops and anything that is very low cut for same reason.

Sgtmajormummy · 25/08/2020 12:56

Dropped crotch, loose sweatpants on teenage boys.
I’d have called them harem pants in my day, and as the name suggests they’re designed to add a touch of voluptuousness to a slimmer figure.

Is that really what they want??
