I'm still seeing so many cold shoulder tops. Who is buying these monstrosoties?!

Ruffles don't seem to be going anywhere either.

@peaceanddove A grey pair you say??

I'm actually picturing what I would wear these with in my head now. 😁

The french tuck. It looks like you've just been to the loo and accidentally tucked your jumper in.

LioneIRichTea · 26/08/2020 19:57

Noooo @MikeUniformMikeI love the trench tuck. Without it my massive boobs and wide hips make me look like I have no shape as tops just hang off me like a sack Blush

LioneIRichTea · 26/08/2020 19:58

French tuck*

MikeUniformMike · 26/08/2020 19:59

I'll let you have it because you made me think I'll call in a trench f...

What's a French tuck?

Muser314 · 26/08/2020 20:24

with regard to older ladies' arms, it depends whether or not you find ageing repulsive or not. I think healthy older people can be confident wearing short sleeves. People of any age can decide to cover up this bit, or the other bit. For various reasons. But I don't think that ALL older bodies must be covered head to toe, because they are ............old.

I don't think women (or men for that matter) should be restricted in what they wear just because a bit of soft flesh might offend other people's eyes. This thread is about hated trends that won't go away - body shaming older people for wearing vests (hardly a trend, I shouldn't have thought) seems to be straying away from the relatively lighthearted subject.

What a a French tuck? Off to Google.

Iabout the vest and scrappy tops.
Just because I don't think they look good on older women doesn't mean they don't look good.

Wear them I say. It's only my opinion

Echobelly · 26/08/2020 21:04

Leggings worn with a top that doesn't cover your arse.

It doesn't even very look good on young girls with nice, pert bums.

It looks absolutely awful on anyone remotely lumpy- or wobbly-arsed, which is most of us, especially if wearing cheapo leggings where the fabric goes a bit see-through on your biggest bits.

It just looks as though you've forgotten part of your outfit

MikeUniformMike · 26/08/2020 21:20

I hate tattoos.

Bleepbloopblarp · 26/08/2020 21:31

@Bleepbloopblarp firstly, very short shorts are definitely not a recent thing. Secondly, what I find works - and I'm happy to offer this as a tip - is to not really look at teenagers bums and to not care whether they look 'tarty'. It makes it a lot easier to live your own life if you don't go around finding reasons to judge children. Happy to help!

Lol! I don’t think you get it love, the whole point is to show off their bums. These are not little kids I’m talking about...who mentioned children? Not me Hmm
Agree the men are pervs but it still looks bloody awful regardless - I don’t want to see anyone’s arse whilst going about my day thanks!

tinkywinkyshandbag · 26/08/2020 21:38

Saw the title of this thread and first thing I thought was "cold shoulder tops"

Jemenfouscompletement · 26/08/2020 21:38

Apparently women over 50 shouldn’t wear bikinis either ........
I think that depends on the size...I'm 55 and still wear one but I'm very fit ( a long distance runner )and in much better shape than many women younger than me.

DancingCatGif · 26/08/2020 21:44

The trend for repeating marketing magaziney shit like "a short sleeve" or "a red lip". Sounds ridiculous

peach1234 · 26/08/2020 21:46

Would love to see what all these "fashionistas" on this thread wear on a day to day basis Hmm

WhatamessIgotinto · 26/08/2020 21:51

I feel like I need to say that although I am hardly in the first flush of youth (if only!) at 53, I really don't consider myself an 'older woman'. I'm just middle aged. I'm getting the feeling that some posters think that everything suddenly changes the second you hit 50. Not so! 😁

Drapey shapeless dresses
Goth looking buckle enhanced boots on anyone not a teen
Padded winter coats
I could go on...

TheChampagneGalop · 26/08/2020 21:55

Padded winter coats
Surely that is a practical thing and not a trend.

ShrimpSymphony · 26/08/2020 21:58

These sack-like midi dresses

MotherOfMonkeys0 · 26/08/2020 22:06

Maybe controversial, but grown women in dungarees. Shapeless, unflattering, try-hard cutesy. Awful.

'A red lip' makes me laugh. Like, what colour's the other one?!

I hate a great many trends, and I love quite a few things listed on here. Horses for courses Smile
