Who the bloody hell is Main School hustle???

I’ve followed Susie for years, had an analysis, online shop and this isn’t Susie at all.

She says she’s had “excellent business advice” hmmm well that’s gone down like a lead balloon

@glowinthebark Emily had her own business before joining SBS.

I think it has become clear that she is a very popular stylist and people have spoken about travelling large distances to shop with her.

It will be interesting to see what happens.

Susie has gone about this all wrong and actually more people are probably questioning her skills as a stylist more than ever, let alone anything else.

I paid for a gold analysis and was booted out of the group a couple of weeks back with no explanation. I had paid good money, made positive posts although I had started to find it a bit grounding day and stopped checking in.

I was analysed as a Summer, which was the right season, but I've since learnt that I'm a Soft Summer which is quite different to true Summer.

Based on the swatches in my Summer analysis I bought some brighter stuff in the colours recommended. She also said to buy white rather than cream. But actually i should avoid both and go for off-white. Some of the colours I bought thinking would "light up" my face don't really suit me and I couldn't understand why. Now, since discovering im a Soft Summer, I do and have wasted a lot of money on clothes I wouldn't necessarily have gone for in the first place.

So in short, get your colours done professionally, or look at The Concept Wardrobe (which is what I did), it really is the key to a successful capsule wardrobe.

I honestly feel quite cross for Emily and the other stylists. You can tell they are on commision as this sudden move has such disregard for the impact on their incomes.

Also has anyone mentioned that asking for reviews just before you make a major business change is quite sly?

I honestly hope she manages to keep the business going as I don't want to see anyone fail but my god what was she thinking?

This ia about control, not trolling on the FB site. There wasn't trolling, just people starting to speak up if they thought someone had been wrongly analysed or if something didn't look good. These were swiftly deleted for being against party policy 🙄

The main criticisms were here and on the other site. Suzie can't zap those as quickly (despite having a good go here with the thread deletions). Her answer is therfore to move to a new site where she has COMPLETE control and that people can only view and contribute if they are paying. So these threads die a death and she makes a nice tidy packet from the sheep who do follow her..Thankfully people are beginning to wise up and speak up.

She worked for an IT company (she’s local to me so I remember it coming up on her stories before she left to focus on SBS full time as I knew the place she was working). Do you mean she had a side job in style analysis?

Thanks for the link to the new group. That’s all I want having had an analysis - ideas for outfits that might suit my season/shape.

@GingerAndTheBiscuits yes sorry, as I understand it, it was additional to her IT role.

I think she comes across very well and is clearly relatable to alot of people. I hope this does not have an adverse affect on her.

It was interesting how Emily put out the message and responded to the negative comments -seemed clear to me she wasn’t a fan of the idea.

@MaureenSowerbutts I didn’t realise that! Wonder if she’ll go back to it if the patreon thing isn’t a success.

@GingerAndTheBiscuits

From the SBS website: Emily completed a diploma with the Style Coaching Institute and passed with honors. She set up her own successful online business but as soon as she saw that Susie was looking to expand up the country, knew that she had to get on the team.

This whole thing is purely to divert any criticism/negativity! I think it'll come back to bite her in the backside in a big way. Although she's going to be making money from the new group, I don't think it'll be enough to cancel out the amount of analysis' she'll lose out on in the long run.

Seems extremely poorly thought through, I don't think she's thought further than shielding herself from any negativity (or trolling as she calls it 🙄)

Thanks for the PDF i've long suspected I am a deep Autumn /Winter . I paid for a silver analysis from SBS and never used. I got a bit dismayed with the carbon copying. I do think style is something that comes from an individual place. I also was not happy with the Daily Mail stuff. I can thank Emily for introducing me to fab Kemi Telford and will continue to follow her. I really can't find that other FB group though??
I'm a member of Fashion Superwomen on FB they are a great bunch of ladies, not a business or anything just women posting outfits and having meetups. Lots of hilarity no unkindness, all welcome and sometimes there are boozy lunches.

If the group is so difficult to manage, then perhaps she should pay her stylists to admin it too instead of a commission per session or whatever. As an example, Caroline Hirons has a 60k+ strong group and I’m pretty sure her team helps manage that. Sure that can get a bit rowdy at times, but any advertising ‘pro’ will tell you that they’re worth it for the marketing from it - like newsletters.
I’ve also just looked at that Main Hustle lady’s LinkedIn and it’s worse than I thought. Where’s her experience? Some of her previous jobs are so short she must’ve got whiplash screeching in and out of those.
It ruins the industry when one person comes in as an ‘expert’ and annihilates someone else’s business. I do see the irony, yes.

I also think it's such bad form to start booting people out of the Facebook group for simply saying they can't go to the next group for whatever reason.

I have absolutely no business credentials (much like the 'business coach'!) so have no idea whether this is a good business decision or not? Time will tell I suppose!

Actually what is the point of supporting a cyberbullying charity but continue to publish in the Daily mail? I hope for her sake she doesn't continue with articles for them. That would be hypocritical and give the new business venture no authenticity at all. Has she never read The Mail's comments sections Angry

Wow. This move seems to be really ill thought out.
I've just gone back to the review site (TP) and previous customers are not holding back. The responses to the reviews were written quite quickly afterwards (late last night /early this morning), so the SBS team are very aware of how people are feeling.
It's such a shame, as many of us thought it was a good business idea, but needed improving - ie: analysis' needed to be correct.
This step is the polar opposite of this, a divide and conquer rule.
Why didn't they ask their customers what they wanted / would pay for before doing this?? Madness.

Why would a marketing expert suggest ending a successful group with 13000 members? Surely they should have aimed to get more followers, offer more services, suggest packages for different ages etc. Even if they had kept the Facebook group and offered the Patreon page as an extra option for people who'd been analysed would have been better. There is very little incentive to have an analysis done. I bet most of their custom comes from social media.
And I think asking for Trust Pilot reviews then changing the business is shocking.

There were some comments saying Mumsnet trolling had led to this. But much of what has been discussed here - mistakes in analysis, the business' reaction to complaints or negativity - has been proved now.

I agree @HumousWhereTheHeartIs, there were very few original posts that could be deemed as trolling, most of the posts have been from paying customers who were unhappy about the service, myself included. I haven't written an unkind or unfounded word, so to be labelled a 'troll' or 'cyberbully' is a) completely untrue and b) insulting. Here on Mumsnet was the only space for that discussion due to not being able to feedback without it being seen as bullying.
I (albeit stupidly) paid money to a business to get a service that didn't provide the service to my satisfaction.
I only joined in the discussions when I realised others felt the same way, as I thought I was alone and the only one who wasn't happy.
I've been very unhappy with the way the threads have been deleted as it smacks of 'silencing'.
I don't want anyone's business to go down, I would rather it is improved. Unfortunately, I don't feel this is the way....
