I'm looking forward to seeing what the really big changes are that are coming. It seems that although Susie has taken the criticisms personally, it has obviously driven her to relook at and shake things up a bit which I think is good.

buckeejit · 27/08/2020 11:07

I was analaysed 6+ years ago by house of colour & it was fab

I was considering a sbs session online as I really want a glasses analysis & hairstyle rec! I actually don't think you can (always) assess someone's season accurately online

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 27/08/2020 11:25

Has anyone seen SBS stories today? Wonder if she's making her own chat forum on her website where she can monitor and control comments and discussions even more.

@buckeejit yes I don't think it's possible to do colour analysis online unless a persons colouring is very obvious. I had a friend who had hers done in person at a style event and the woman analysed her as winter (she was wearing full makeup and in a poorly lit room at the event). She booked a more in depth colour and body session with the stylist after the event and she was told not to wear any makeup and they did it in daylight and she was draped with more fabrics and it turned out she was a spring!

Yes I saw her stories! That was my first thought too - maybe instead of taking on the feedback she just wants to control what's being said even more 👎🏼

Would people even bother to use a chat forum on a website? I thought most of them had died a death these days as everything moved to Facebook groups.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/08/2020 14:16

I agree, people will just stick with FB groups, unless she closes it down and “forces” people to move to her website. But I think most people wouldn’t bother and she would lose a lot of her potential customers.

That woman is so far from hour glass!! How can they get this so wrong???

. . Who are you referring to @Styledbyserpents

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 30/08/2020 15:27

@Styledbyserpents - I think I saw who you're referring to. The summer hourglass who has no waist and shoulders very clearly wider than her hips?

Several other people have commented that they would have said rectangle too, and one pear which is obviously way off. Still, I'm surprised to see the comments second guessing the shape analysis haven't been removed yet

I stopped looking at the Sisterhood / Tribe's facebook page comments about a year ago and have started again because these threads have interested me. Has anyone else noticed more people questioning their analysis? I wonder if there are large numbers of customers who aren't convinced about their analysis. I don't remember seeing that a year ago, maybe it's because of these threads, people are braver?

autumnhare · 30/08/2020 18:05

I'm surprised they've left up the comments of people saying they'd have put her as a rectangle. Perhaps a sign of the admin being a little less strict?

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2020 19:50

So she is closing the FB group and you have to pay £6 to follow her now on Patreon and can only be in the sisterhood if you’ve had an analysis? Sounds like the kiss of death to her business to me. A lot of people will have found her through FB, will have liked what they saw and then paid for an analysis. She’s not going to have this form of “advertising” any more. And a lot of people on the live chat were saying they wouldn’t or couldn’t afford to pay £6 a month.

glowinthebark · 30/08/2020 19:53

Who the actual fuck is advising her

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 30/08/2020 19:56

Wow. Just wow. 🤦‍♀️

The fee could just be £3.60 a month without the cyberbullying donation (which people could just freely give themselves separately if they wanted to), which more people might be willing to pay..!

Marsis · 30/08/2020 20:07

I wonder if it’s her way of saving face almost as it will allow her to shrink the business again as I think she grew it too quickly, started adding on extra services, stylists etc. that haven’t worked so well.
Also if it doesn’t work out only the people who have paid will see.

StealthNinjaMum · 30/08/2020 20:08

That's a surprising business move given how much she's expanded the business. If they only got 1,000 people to pay it would be £72K a year (with some going to charity) hardly enough to justify the staff - how many is it? 10? (complete guess). I've been looking at the stylists recommended on these threads and random ones on instagram and there are so many people who give good, professional looking, informative free content. You need to in order to get customers. How will Susie get new paying customers unless she gives free content to promote herself? I guess she's relying on the Daily Mail.

Given her USP is to give styling advice to people who buy high street rather than designer labels I wonder how many will be able to afford £72 a year. It seems a bit excluding. I wonder if they've done any market research into whether their customers would be happy to pay.

StealthNinjaMum · 30/08/2020 20:09

Cross posted with Marsis I do think the business grew too quickly but the stylists all seem lovely and it would be awful if they lost their jobs.

MrsSchadenfreude · 30/08/2020 20:14

I see MN is getting blamed for the cyber bullying and trolling. ShockHmmConfused

So many people saying they won’t pay. It’s either a business or it’s not - which is it? The FB group has to have been the best form of free advertising going!

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 30/08/2020 20:15

I wonder how the stylists are paid though. Does anyone know if it's their full time job? I assumed they each worked on some kind of commission where they were paid a portion of the service fee each customer paid.

I only watched the first few mins of the FB live so far and she looked as if she was about to burst into tears. I wonder what she'll be like on IG.

OP posts:
Marsis · 30/08/2020 20:25

Is it a self employed ‘Side hustle’ type of job? I can’t imagine they spend more than a couple of hours max per day doing ‘Susie’ stuff and I bet doing the insta posts ootd etc won’t count and is just expected on top. Some of the stylists seem more keen or more visible at least, I wonder if the quieter ones regret getting involved?

Styledbyserpents · 30/08/2020 20:30

I can't see the group at all any more so assume I've been booted off...

glowinthebark · 30/08/2020 20:31

They're on commission.

autumnhare · 30/08/2020 20:44

I think it's being used as a filter to ensure all who are seeing the content are ones who see the positives in the business (and are happy to pay!) and aren't going to have negative views on it. This whole thing seems to be about stopping negative comments rather than actually creating something better for the customers.

I think in the long run, although they may 'protect' the business from negativity that they'll probably lose business and customers. People like to see what things are like first before they buy.

ohmygiddiest · 30/08/2020 21:03

The paid members are mostly going to be people who have drunk the kool aid, surely? So, there will be no honest and helpful comments, just the same old rubbish about wearing a belt, tucking things and adding chunky white trainers. I really hoped that Susie was going to announce that they were closing for a few weeks so the staff could get some proper qualifications.
