Emily has her own FB group if anyone is interested, it's Style Me Happy - Community.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/09/2020 20:42

I’ve joined!

Willow4987 · 26/09/2020 21:36

How long was Emily with SBS? It’s just that her style me happy main page and community have been established for a long time...not just in the last few weeks?

I just assumed it had all been set up since she left

Her Instagram says she started with susie in early 2020?
GingerAndTheBiscuits · 26/09/2020 23:21

She had her own stylist business before she joined SBS

HumousWhereTheHeartIs · 01/10/2020 16:54

Just wondering if anyone has heard any more regarding the legal letters?

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/10/2020 20:43

Good point. @VioletWillow - any news?

Very little. The member who was posting on here was very confident about going to court, I haven't heard from them lately and they have deleted all their PMs so I don't know if they have chosen to cease all action or what. 2 members in the FB group have chosen to sign the papers and have deleted everything they said (and TP reviews) and now can't mention anything at all or they will get sued. I'm not sure about anyone else. I haven't heard of any new letters.
MrsSchadenfreude · 03/10/2020 17:42

It’s quite shocking behaviour.

Nonamesavail · 03/10/2020 20:26

Pretty shocking isn't it!

kitschplease · 04/10/2020 08:06

The one advantage of this clusterfuck is that people are now so much more aware of how many more stylists are out there. The Style Sisterhood Facebook group has some wonderful ones at a mix of budgets, styles and locations. And they seem to actually be kind rather than just use #bekind as a marketing strategy.

Couldn't agree more. I really hope some of the little businesses take off as a result of the SBS car crash.
WawLaDot · 04/10/2020 10:30

I'm finding the variety of suggestions from different stylists on the style sisterhood page really refreshing. Different things will ring true for different people, regardless of what shape or colouring they are, so I think there is something for everyone now. I can see now why so many people felt they couldn't get on with the advice on the old group, it was very much one size fits all; if you're an hourglass then this, if you're a strawberry then you can't do this etc and anything posted that suggested anything different from the formula was declined or removed.

stealthninjamum · 04/10/2020 12:16

I liked the other facebook group but the new one has so much more variety of posts and suddenly it's obvious how censored the other one was. I agree that it's refreshing to see other stylists and hairdressers and makeup artists and conversations on so much more than brands of white trainers and hair bands. It's a shame only 4k members of the other group were able to move over in time.

WowStarsWow · 04/10/2020 12:37

What do you mean stealthninjamum? Anyone can join at any time. The group members are steadily rising. Susie certainly hasn’t got the missing 10k members of the old group on Patreon/Discord haha. She only managed to donate £540 of her followers’ cash to Cybersmile this month.

stealthninjamum · 04/10/2020 12:41

Sorry I was unclear. I know anyone can join but I imagine the old group was closed so quickly that people just weren’t aware of the new group to move over. I said at the time that it would be possible to be on holiday and never understand why the sbs group closed.

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/10/2020 12:42

I think the new group is excellent. I’m loving the variety of posts and suggestions on there. I’m also following Emily’s FB group.

Nonamesavail · 04/10/2020 13:06

I definitely think its good more stylists are getting their time to shine :-)

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 04/10/2020 14:40

Interesting that just as Emily is posting about outfits for cool/warm tones (she’s posted about using 12 season/tones in her analysis I think), Susie is writing an article about why they only use seasons Hmm

Diagoras20 · 04/10/2020 19:40

SBS is definitely watching these threads, the other sites thread and the other stylists because a lot of her content the last few weeks is either passive aggressive or aimed in response to things said here or elsewhere.

Makeitbakeit · 04/10/2020 21:10

It think its fair to say she is indeed watching these threads

kevinn · 04/10/2020 21:13

Of course she's watching. She'd be stupid not to.

But at least she's stopped claiming that she isn't.

evilharpy · 04/10/2020 21:25

Has anyone seen Emily's Wishlist to Wardrobe thing in her insta stories today? I thought it was fab.

Makeitbakeit · 05/10/2020 18:44

@evilharpy I love the wishlist to wardrobe she does, its so useful as I always look on Pinterest for ideas.

An original and fresh idea, I'm sure she is going places!

MrsSchadenfreude · 05/10/2020 18:55

Well, watching and learning is no bad thing! I also like the Wishlist to Wardrobe, but I think it could get a bit speedy!
