I've actually supported and defended SBS on here, have spent £200 on various analyses and now am expected to pay £72 a year for "exclusive content"? Fuck that. See you, Susie.

@WineGetsMeThroughIt I think most of her business probably came from the FB group. It was an excellent way of getting free advertising. I don’t know who will find her now through her Patreon group, so it will just be the same small circle of people, and the business won’t expand, or even be sustainable.

Spent my money on an analysis just after having babies, and although I could tell it was a fairly generic response, it gave me a confidence boost. At first I found the group great, I was totally lost with what I wore, and i liked looking at what other people were wearing, getting ideas. I didn't like the way it went though. It all became very samey - statement necklaces, slogan t-shirts, chunky trainers, so I disengaged a bit. This will just make me completely disengage. I'm not paying £72 a year. And the charity donation? Sure, sounds like a great charity, and I'm sure they do wonderful work, but I prefer to choose which charities I give to, not have it forced on me.

So no, I won't be moving over. And I don't think that it'll work well for them long-term. The group worked - people joined, then got analysed, then continued to engage with the group, then got more services. They won't get that free access to potential customers.

Someone has already created their own FB group for SBS fans. Won't post the link as it may get this thread deleted but it's been posted in The FB live comments.

Created by someone who is really unhappy about the changes

The "clearly a rectangle" comments were probably left standing as the team have been getting ready for tonight's bonkers announcement. I wonder what the stylist team made of it and whether they had any input. And also how sbs will fill the sales pipeline now they've told thousands of potential customers to, in effect, fuck off.

Sooo many unhappy people. What I wouldn't do to be a fly on the wall in Susie's house right now.

I was just thinking the same thing.

When you have to read from a marketing script to announce the biggest change you've ever made to your business, you know you're not doing the right thing.

Just taken a look at her Patreon account. She's got one section on Necklines. I wonder if she's taking Inspo from The Concept Wardrobes Free content and charging for it

It’s so easy to classify feedback as bullying and trolling when it doesn’t fit with the agenda of poor service, poor product delivery, and fake kindness. The vortex SBS has created around themselves... wow, just wow!

I think it is a shame but it makes sense financially. But I think they should keep their Facebook groups with some content and have extra content you can subscribe to. But I think £6 is too much. I don’t see how they can justify it.
I found the Concept Wardrobe really useful too.

Also take a look at this - more training guide for stylists but useful
www.imageinstitute.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/Colour-Analysis-Workbook.pdf
Just wondering, is that booklet freely available on the web or is it paid for content? ? It has the look of something you'd have to pay for so I'm wondering if it should really be on here? Happy to be wrong though.

@MrsSchadenfreude

Are the SBS essentials:

Chunky white trainers
Kaz band
Denim jacket
Leather jacket
Slogan tee shirt?

I would look utterly ridiculous in a kaz band, ditto chunky trainers. I liked the suggestions of clothes and colours for different seasons and body shapes recently.

I’ve been SbS analysed and pleased with the results, but don’t wear any of the above, apart from occasional denim jacket.

And its SHADY SHADY SHADY to ask your customers to pop a review on trustpilot before telling them that they now have to pay to be in the group. Oh, Susie!

So she's monetised her platform which actually acted as free advertisement for her business.
I thought the big announcement would be something to do with the actual services she provides. A patreon. Big wow! Influencers and YouTubers have been squeezing their fans for extra cash in this way for ages. How groundbreaking.

Lots of people are getting blocked from the main group after saying they aren’t happy with the move

I was recommended SBS by a fellow MN'er on the Style board back in early 2019. I bought the gold analysis & loved the confidence it gave me and found the FB page to be a fantastic complimentary resource.

Since then, I've bought extra analysis (which were equally useful); recommended SBS to 3 people who each bought the gold analysis; hosted 2 x style parties for 6 people (12 total) during lockdown; & got many ladies in my business network to sign up to the FB page in a bid to share the 'women in a budget' focus.

I can afford the £6 a month, but don't want to pay it. For me, this change goes against the ethos of affordable, high street fashion for 'normal' people with the FB page to provide an empowering, positive space for women.

I know many of the S&B board are dismissive of SBS, but for those of us who lost/never had a sense of style, it was a great resource. Genuinely sad that it is going.

@Bishybarnybee I found it through google I can’t remember the exact search terms but it was something like style analysis body shape season guide It’s not behind a paywall or I wouldn’t have been able to access I’m good at google but I’m not an IT expert

You can edit trustpilot reviews, maybe those that left a positive review now want to reconsider.
