I promised I would post pics of my mini-lift for others who were possibly considering it. I got out of theatre at 2.45 and the swelling is starting to kick in now. Surgeon said that is to be expected. Jowls gone along with burgeoning turkey neck.
Before and immediately after pics wrong way round obvs.
If anyone is interested, I am more than happy to share daily photos.

What was the procedure? It looks like it's worked really well.

I'd like to get something done myself but don't know where to start. Can you get just neck and jowls done? I wouldn't want an over tightened face, just to look a bit less old and knackered. Lockdown seems to have aged me severely (well constant chocolate eating and no exercise has contributed tbh).

And if you don't mind me asking was it expensive?

It was not expensive as far as these procedures go - £3125 to be exact. Called a VR lift. He did not over promise on the neck but lifting everything else has sorted it right out.
Mind you, swelling is now getting worse by the minute; I can’t really open my mouth and it’s starting to throb a bit.

I hope you're not too uncomfortable, it really does look as if it will be worth the pain and effort.

Was it done under a local anaesthetic? I'm not a fan of being knocked out for procedures and am prepared to endure a fair bit if I can stay awake.

The price is lower than I thought as well. I looked into something several years back and the quote was over £4000, that was just a neck lift.

I'm off to Google VR lifts.

Looks very good. Do you also have other work done? Botox/fillers/fraxel/microdermabrasion? - your skin is excellent

I used to have Botox and filler but stopped all that a couple of years ago and changed to profhilo which makes your skin glow. Haven’t had it for a year though. I now use azelaic acid in the morning and adapalene at night which keep my rosacea and acne under control.

I've found we have a VR clinic where I live and have booked a consultation - you've inspired me.

Had it done at faceetc. Medispa in York. Nick Rhodes who owns it is a consultant plastic surgeon and has an operating theatre onsite for procedures that can be done under local. He is lovely. His wife is also a doctor and she held my hand while we listened to 80’s music and had a good chat.
The whole experience was really rather pleasant - bit ouch a couple of times and some v strange sensations and noises. Took just over 2 hours.

I am 48.

Polyxena I had threads about 5 or so years ago -the effect lasted for about 9 months and it was bloody agony getting it done.
Well done on the weight loss - I agree with waiting to reach your target then making a decision but I’d save yourself the bother of a thread lift if you want something that will last and be worth the money - threads are not good value imo.

Hi op how are you feeling today? Hope you're not too uncomfortable.

I can see it has probably made a difference but the scar looks quite drastic and puts me off. How many stitches have you got?

Had quite an uncomfortable night but codeine took the edge right off.

There are quite a few stitches and they are currently gunged up so look bad at the minute. Friends have had the exact same procedure and the scars are barely visible - slight silvery lines if pointed out.

I will try to photograph them close up after I am allowed to wash my hair this evening as I want to be as honest as I can about this otherwise it’s totally pointless me prattling on.
I do understand this is not for everyone and respect that 100% but I thought it might be helpful to see the results of these types of procedures in real time.
