Last lot

Black skirt - don't know, top was a £1 Zara top from another shop
Belt - jigsaw

Denim skirt (will obviously wear this with tights and boots - gap
Leather jacket, recent absolute bargain from ASOS
Jumpsuit - Frank Lyman. Needs styling but is very comfy- too long to wear without serious heels so will be worn one day in 2025 or something when I go out out again

White dress - fat face
Black dress - Kenneth Cole
Random stripy dress which is good for the beach (ha, unlikely) - Miso

The challenge is to actually wear them rather than defaulting to lounge wear!

You look amazing in that jumpsuit @Shannith. So slim and elegant. Definitely worth hanging onto it until going out is possible again

Hi all,

Haven't posted in a while as we've been away on holidays and was mostly in jeans and hoodies or leggings. Lovely to get a break.

I've been lurking and enjoying seeing everyones autumn/ winter clothes appear. Had a big sort of my clothes and have put away the summer stuff and taken out my autumn stuff (although its actually been pretty warm last couple of days). Mostly seem to be wearing stuff I picked up in the Oasis/ Warehouse closing down sale.

Yesterdays outfit for the office:
Blouse - Oasis
Cord skirt - Oasis
Cardigan - Fat Face
Brogues - Clarks

WFH today:
Cardigan - Oasis
T shirt - Oliver Bonas (my DS absolutely loves the little cat peeking out of the pocket)
Jeans - GAP, could do with a belt I think

@Shannith that's an amazing charity shop haul, love the leather jacket too.

So I’ve just logged in to my stitch fix account as it has been despatched. I always cap the spend and they are way over that. Feel quite disappointed. I cap at £150 so enough I feel.
Winging its way to me;

A black cardigan with a bit of frill on the sleeves £39. Black cardi is just that so I would get one for much less

A brodierie peach coloured top - really summery so deffo not what I would be looking for at the time of year

Some navy chinos from mint velvet - surely chino season has been and gone - and at £69 I won’t be keeping. The reviews in John Lewis say they come up big too.

A navy linen top from monsoon. I always put linen as a summer thing - looks dead boring.

And finally a sleeveless black utility cropped culotte jumpsuit - again surely this is for summer.

So no two things to really put together to make an outfit. Feel very disappointed and wish I had not have looked at my account before it arrived!

Feeling a bit grumpy about it to be honest. I was expecting wintery things!

@softpebbles - that does sound disappointing. Might the jumpsuit be ok with a shirt under it and boots? I completely see what you mean about expecting wintery things, though, not really good enough. I would certainly be expecting warmer clothing now, anything else just smacks of getting rid of summer stock really.

Today's been really shitty, had some dreadful news this morning and DH is away again, with limited access to his phone this time, so I can't even chat to him. Dressed very much for comfort, but as soon as I collect DS I'll be in pyjamas and a fluffy fleece and curling up on the sofa with him.

Hi everyone  I used to be on these threads a few months ago but had a bit of a digital detox over the summer...the arrival of autumn (my favourite season for clothes!) reminded me of you all and I've binge-read the last couple of threads  So many lovely outfits and lots of inspiration as usual (and I now have lots of lovely things in online shopping baskets...)

Today I thought I'd try and get some more wear out of a spring dress with a top layered underneath but it was too cold for bare ankles this morning so I changed - and was then too hot at school pick up this afternoon! I'm not keen on this in between weather, too hard to know what to wear.

I appear to have transitioned into lounge wear - mostly because I was so cold yesterday. I think it’s time to invest in some more thermals (even if that breaks my current attempt at not spending on new clothes).

@OublietteBravo I am like that, cold as WFH but I don't want the heating on all day everyday! I am wearing cardigans as they are easy to take on and off.

I have two dresses from New Look arriving today, they are for winter to wear with tights and boots. I also bought some jeans off of ebay as I sold quite a few bits on there at the weekend. I don't really need anything else, especially as I can't see us really going anywhere or seeing people.

That is a great charity shop haul. I used to like going to a Market Town near to us as their charity shops had nice things in.

It's so cold today 🥶 I've added a cardigan to my dress but thermals are on my list too @OublietteBravo - I was going to order some from Uniqlo but then read that they don't accept returns on thermals so I'm going to have a look at M&S instead as I'm not certain on sizing.

Yesterday's blue dress was from new look - I'm wondering if I can wear long boots with it for winter. Might have a try on later. I didn't know there was a pink version @Softpebbles, that sounds nice.

Buy the thermals quick @PalacePaper a lot of schools and work places are keeping their windows open so I suspect people will be stocking up. Got DD some short and long sleeved ones, including one with a thin layer of fleece inside. They also do fleece lined trousers, she's 13 and a size 4 when I measured her so fits their xxs, I would watch for lengths of trousers and arm length as she's about 5ft and trousers are the right length.

High waisted IRO jeans, with cream boots that were a total impulse buy from Marks while heading for the Food Hall! Can’t remember where I got the jacket which is a shame as I love it.

I haven't been posting much as I am always at work these days (I'm uniform) so don't seem to have much opportunity to wear my own clothes. Welcome back @PalacePaper, love the dresses.

I have made a couple of 'sensible' purchases recently - a grey Barbour bobble hat, some cashmere fingerless gloves (perfect for my hands which are always cold thanks fo dodgy thyroid) and some black nike internationalists. The reason for the trainers was I really need shoes that I can put on without having to think too much that will go with everything and are super versatile, these fit the bill I think.

Have been watching the Sézane autumn collections and not feeling very inspired.. the jumpers are beautiful but all look far too itchy, most of the other stuff I like looks too much like office wear and not suitable for my lifestyle at the moment.

Welcome back @PalacePaper I think the dress would work with boots. Im interested to see how people are wearing their dresses for winter.

I actually wore my charity shop jumpsuit yesterday because I had (4) people over for tapas. I wore it plain but did my makeup and had my hair down and got compliments which was lovely (I'm normally hair scrapped back and no make up).

@Ellapaella I'm with you on the cold feet. I have some ski socks that I got in Aldi in the aisle of randomness years ago. They were so good I got about 6 pairs. I'm down to one pair now so I'm the hunt for something similar.

That's just reminded me to sign up for notification of Aldi's special buys. When this years ski one come up, it normally great for thermals/socks etc. My skiing friends swear by it for cheap, good quality basics

@Shannith what I still need to find is really warm trainer socks. Maybe merino wool or thermal, I wear trainers a lot and need warmer socks!

@Ellapaella @OublietteBravo you both have normal lace up docs. If you sometimes took a 6, for example in converse and sometimes were a 6.5 would you go for a 6 or 6.5. I don’t want them to be too big. I had some Chelsea 2976 boots and the 6.5’s were too big but I have some patent ones (no stretch and these are quite snug)
