.... mind you, when it comes to it I have never actually ordered from them. I always wonder if their stuff is just a bit pedestrian..( its the neutral colours, I think)

Railingsohno · 21/07/2020 13:21

Just been to JL and it was kind a ghost town. Depressing. Lots if Toast but all bigger sizes. I heard the staff talking about clothes coming out of quarantine. They must need to keep returns somewhere for a set period of time before they go back out on the shop floor Shock

sadie9 · 21/07/2020 14:09

I have a small bust but have pot belly. Voluminous smocks make me look pregnant but some empire line/tea dress style are fine.
Will this one JIO PRINT POPLIN DRESS make me look pregnant??

I am having THE most exciting day as we start to poke our heads over the shielding wall. First time I’ve seen anyone but delivery people and the people I live with, for 4 months This morning I took the dog to be groomed - contactless drop off and pick up - dog very confused as to why she was being left in a crate outside. She looks much better now my monthly attempts to hack enough fur off to keep her comfortable has been sorted. Then later I am going to the podiatrist to have my ingrown toenail dealt with. I have to pay in advance, leave my coat and bag in the car, sanitise on entry and wear a mask and visor. But the point of all that is that I’m wearing the Toast Riya dress. I’m enjoying swishing about in it. I had been going to send it pack to JL as I wasn’t sure I £80 loved it, but when I discovered price match I decided I did £40 love it and rescued it from the Hermes man. I’m glad now I kept it as it’s really grown on me, as someone upthread mentioned. I’ll be knackered later after all this socialising.

Sounds like an 'exciting' day !! Cherries I have the scarf in 5je same fabric as that dress.. its gorgeous ..
My day has also been 'exciting' .. been buying fence panels and smoke alarms for a house we are doing up in another town as well as trying to coordinate delivery and furniture deliveries( which at one point looked like it was going terribly wrong for the second time.. ruddy Dunelm..) to my DS in yet another place...

I now need tea Brew and a nice sit down !!

Gymntonic · 21/07/2020 14:45

@sadie9 I have that dress. The drawstring waist could certainly have that effect. Do you have a small waist? The waist sits quite high on me which can look quite slimming. I'm 5' 11", so maybe that's not how it falls for everyone. My tummy sits under the waist band. But it does balloon out a bit above and below the waist band iswim.
It's a lovely colour though and I love the cut of the bust and the fabric. Pockets tooSmile

herecomesthsun · 21/07/2020 14:47

Have also been shielding here. Went to the dentist last week and dropped something off - in the car!! - today. Very exciting. Am not wearing Toast but am getting some John Lewis cashmere in, for when it turns cold, fingers crossed.

Laska2Meryls · 21/07/2020 15:08

This is the linen wool striped jumper, its quite thin and surprisingly small for the L , from JL so £39. Love the blue stripe though and definitely keeping as but there's no way that id have bought it full price (£130!😯!)

AuldFox · 21/07/2020 16:40

Love this whole outfit @laska

Alsohuman · 21/07/2020 16:55

That looks lovely. Can’t wait for mine to arrive now.

Railingsohno · 21/07/2020 17:01

Toast was great. Didn’t buy anything but had a nice browse and staff were as lovely as ever. Returned my tile dress and the Fairisle jumper.

Railingsohno · 21/07/2020 17:03

Bought these though which I absolutely love!

paintyhands · 21/07/2020 17:10

I like those @Railingsohno! @Laska2Meryls the jumper is lovely on you - I was all set to keep the one I got a few weeks ago until I spotted a small hole in it so it was returned.

Laska2Meryls · 21/07/2020 17:23

Thanks for all the jumper love...

Painty I just had to go and look to make sure that I didn't have that holey one !

I have bought 'just one last thing ' (Oh yeah? Hmm)
The slate cotton /linen jacket...Just to try, dont you know Grin

Laska2Meryls · 21/07/2020 17:25

Railings the Bonbachos look good!... have never seen anything like those previously

faustina · 21/07/2020 17:29

@Laska2Meryls - that jumper looks lovely on you. Mine's a large too - I found it quire small on the shoulders and then it gets bigger further down. the neckline really suits you, and it goes well with the jeans

@Railingsohno - I'm so tempted to go to my local Toast. I've just noticed they do free alterations and mending of old Toast things. Were there any t-shirts on their sale rail? My toast also has a Brora almost next door - lethal combination isn't it Grin

The detagged indigo twill shirt arrived today - hoorah!

Laska2Meryls · 21/07/2020 17:46

Faustina Hooray!!! .. I think we need to see that shirt now !!

Laska2Meryls · 21/07/2020 18:05

Resisted Halo

faustina · 21/07/2020 18:14

Really Lovely Faustina I am so glad that you got it sorted out ..

faustina · 21/07/2020 18:24

@Laska2Meryls - thank you! Yes, I'm very pleased it's all sorted now.

Just bought another couple of linen t-shirts to dye - another red, and the white boy tee - and some navy blue Dylon dye. Has anyone used that colour? I want the white tee to be a really dark navy

Countmeout · 21/07/2020 18:51

I love that top @faustina. So glad you got sorted. What are those trousers you have it with?
That jumper looks great on @Laska2Meryls. Much better than the pictures.
Nothing I wanted on the JL site popped up but I jumped when the long dressing gown appeared on Toast as I’m hmmed and haaed the other day and missed it. So difficult to get a long dressing gown. So much for not spending.

Alsohuman · 21/07/2020 19:00

The linen top’s lovely Faustina. Well worth tag gate. I’m so glad the waxed jacket’s not available in my size. Has anyone got it?

goldpendant · 21/07/2020 19:07

@faustina tell me about those trousers!!
