@faustina, quick! Your shirt in a size 12 on JL site now!

paintyhands · 20/07/2020 19:57

Looks great @Laska2Meryls - I love that tee. I returned the white shirt and swiftly exchanged it for this .. www.johnlewis.com/toast-wool-cotton-boxy-cardigan-kingfisher/p4925125 It’s also L (not my usual size) but this works - it’s boxy rather than slim fitting which I prefer in knitwear. I also ordered a brown Kin parka today for £29 and a JL cashmere jumper for £25. I have a feeling both will go back but been wanting to try the parka for a while. Must stop! I’m sick of doing returns if nothing else!

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 20:11

Squiz thanks even though I said that I was done it would have been rude not to get that red tee.. 👍
Count the shoes are really comfy.. I did need to size up though. Usually s standard 5 and I needed a 6 ( they do say to do so though) they do have some
returns this evening.. The black ones are really nice too . Steve Mono sandals

@Moominmammaatsea - I missed it! BUT my newly detagged shirt is due to be delivered back to me on Wednesday so it's ok! I hope one of you bagged it - it's lovely. I also that dark red linen tee is back in stock and I hope someone buys it - I wore mine over the weekend and loved it

Thanks for keeping an eye out Moomin Smile

faustina · 20/07/2020 20:15

@Squiz81 - buy that t-shirt! I did last week and dyed it black and it's amazing

AuldFox · 20/07/2020 20:16

I nabbed the chequerboard dress that was on the JL website for about 1.2 seconds. It may not fit across my bust though. JL does free returns so worth a punt. Does anyone have this dress, fellow toasties?

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 20:17

I did Faustina ! 😄

faustina · 20/07/2020 20:21

@Laska2Meryls - which? The shirt or the t-shirt?

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 20:22

T shirt... I may dye it as well..

Laska2Meryls · 20/07/2020 20:24

I even paid postage... Unlike me but I had nothing else in my basket and you have to be quick.. was cheap enough

faustina · 20/07/2020 20:24

@Laska2Meryls - oh good! Grin

Moominmammaatsea · 20/07/2020 20:45

I bought two of the red linen T-shirts in size M so I’m hoping they’re not too roomy? I’m perfectly happy with the burnt red as it’s not too tomato-ey and I think it will be fine under my denim dungarees and with my Ashley jeans, which I’m collecting tomorrow. If not, they’ll make great lockdown loungewear with my Japanese black and white trousers, as modelled previously by Laska.

A point of information for anyone like me who can’t always spend the required £50 for free delivery on the JL site (and is too much of a tightwad to enjoy paying the £3 delivery charge), my nearest local community supermarket, the Co-op, has just become a JL Click & Collect outlet and you simply need to spend £30 to qualify for free pick-up from the destination of your choice.

Moominmammaatsea · 20/07/2020 20:47

@AuldFox, I love that dress, the Ikat fabric is divine; sadly, it wasn’t my size. It’s a really beautiful dress - enjoy!

faustina · 20/07/2020 20:59

@Moominmammaatsea I found them a much neater fit than their other t-shirts. Mine is a medium and I usually take a small

Moominmammaatsea · 20/07/2020 21:17

@faustina, thanks, it’s such a lottery with the sizing but the majority of my Toast t-shirts are medium (I’m long in the body so I appreciate the length). I scaled it on the white linen boy t-shirt I bought last week ( which is still hanging on the front of my wardrobe), waiting to be worn.

Can I pose a question here: does anyone else (who loves clothes) have to give their new garments a bedding in period ie hang them up or leave them in their packaging for a wee while until they’re ready to incorporate them into their lives? I appreciate that this may sound somewhat silly but I have never been a rip-the-labels-off-to-wear-immediately shopper, I’ve always had to give myself some thinking time to consider how, where and when I will wear things and what will go with what etc. Conversely, I’m not someone who will save things for best.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 20/07/2020 21:26

auldfox I've got that dress. I took my usual toast size. It is very wide at the waist and needs the belt i think. I couldn't size down though as need the shoulder room (am broad of shoulder). I like it, was pleased to grab it in JL sale too especially as I considered it at toast sale prices (£140).
Moomin I do put stuff aside and don't wear straightaway but usually because I buy out of season as love a bargain. I enjoy 'discovering' stuff in my wardrobe.
I bought the chevron dress in the recent additions to the toast sale - does anyone have this?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 20/07/2020 21:28

Sorry here I am posting photos again but chequerboard dress for auldfox

Moominmammaatsea · 20/07/2020 21:32

Bernice, you couldn’t get a better foil for that dress than the pattern on your Vans!

AmethystMoonShine · 20/07/2020 22:05

@BerniceBobsHerHair love your dress!

I’ve just nabbed the Freya skirt in Slate in a 12 on the Toast site. I have it in parchment and love it, fab alternative to jeans.

Also ordered the juniper linen jumper in S for JL to try. I prefer 3/4 sleeves as otherwise I just roll them up, but need to see where the sleeves come to on me. I do like the look of the colour though, I’ve auburn hair so hope it suits... fingers crossed.
Still waiting to hear back from JL as to the wearsbouts of my striped linen jumper that I ordered on 9 July to take away on holiday with me this weekend Hmm

Moominmammaatsea · 20/07/2020 22:12

@AmethystMoonShine, I have the juniper linen jumper, and whilst I’m waiting to wear it (see post up thread), I absolutely love the colour and the fabric, even though it’s totally out of my comfort zone of denim and indigo. I plan - when all the planets are aligned, and I’m not scrabbling around in the playground with small children - to wear it with my new (bargainous) Jude trousers.

Railingsohno · 20/07/2020 22:29

@Laska2Meryls great t shirt

Railingsohno · 20/07/2020 22:40

Got my sale parcel. Loved the chambray selvedge shirt although not sure what to wear it with. It’s very boxy. Not me in the photo.

The checked tunic is lovely too and will be nice with jeans or trousers for work. Again boxy fit.

Mustard Fairisle looked awful colour wise in me. Really itchy too.

What do you think of the Mexican tile dress? Not sure. Will be nice for holidays but not sure I’ll get the wear. Gapey underarms means you can see to under my bra. Confused

Oops delayed post. And tile print with belt

goldpendant · 20/07/2020 23:25

Love both tops @Railingsohno but I'm not sure about the Mexican dress.... it's quite garish and possible the kind of print you might get bored of? It's definitely better belted!
