Another thing I like to do is think about how I speak I enjoy using granny vocabulary.
As per my username I will describe things as 'pesky'.
I'll tell my ds to stop being a pest.
I'll threaten (jokingly!) to give him 'a thick ear'.
I like to say 'blow' or 'rats' or 'goodness me!'
I tell my teenage dd that if you need to deliver a verbal blow a simple 'fool' is often better than a swearword.
It's fun to use old fashioned words!

Vexed is a word I use fairly often. I just like the way it sounds

I am also waiting on delivery of many "Old Lady" things whilst enjoying an afternoon of tea, cake and Poirot.

Would like to mention my new discovery on the BBC sounds App - sitcoms from days gone past! Steptoe, Dad’s Army, The Navy Lark, and my new favourite ‘Round The Horne’! Plus many others

i saw the bero books on the old thread and i didnt even think to mention bero!! I have 4 books. One from 1920s and one from the 1940s both were gifts from grannys friend after my granny died and said she used to bake cakes for tea for her, her husband my granny, grandad and for my mother as a child.

Then i have my grannys 1970s one which i know she didnt return the favour because she was rubbish at baking but my mother used it for home economics, and then i have a new one i bought for myself!

my favourites are coffee kisses, melting moments, Australian crunchie and scones. I also find nothing works as well as bero yorkshire puddings

The Bronley dusting powder is in the sale....

@AdaColeman I had a great aunt Nellie who was a Mary Ellen. Formidable woman. Taught me how to slice coopers brown bread so thin. She always held it so close to her hefty bosom I don't know how she didn't do herself a damage!

My mum has just given me a stack of People's Friends

Our two year old granddaughter lives with us and so that she doesn't pick up on an unsavoury word we've started to say 'oh my goodness' when things don't go entirely to plan.
We say it a lot. Sometimes I put so much vitriol in to it I may as well just have said 'oh f*ck it!'

Delurking to say I thoroughly enjoyed the last thread and I'm delighted to see thread 2. My wish list has grown somewhat due to the lovely items mentioned already. to all who contributed.

I am old. I have sensible sandals, Sketchers go walks (I and another nurse were waxing lyrical about them to young uns at work on the weekend) and Harvest knickers as someone called them, so bloody comfy, I should have bought them years ago.
My soap love is Bronnely Lemon, used to buy it for my great aunt for Christmas. Used to be shaped like lemons in the box.
I have lost my Bero cook book in our latest house move. I accused Dh of throwing it away.

The 4711 stick is a solid perfume thing yes, to answer pp on thread one.
Great for your handbag as it can’t leak, and nice to cool you down on a hot , sticky day.
