48 (but feel much younger!)

Whistles
Hush
Sezane
Jigsaw
Boden
M&S
Mint Velvet

TornadoOfSouls · 26/06/2020 19:54

Ebay. I've concluded clothes used to be better in the olden days so I just choose individual good quality /interesting items.

Me too. Otherwise it’s charity/second hand shops, Toast, Uniqlo, Gap for jeans, Birkenstocks, DMs, New Balance, Boden for Bretons. Im giving up M&S. In my dreams I shop at Margaret Howell.

I’ve had one or two nice things from Seasalt etc but the style doesn’t really suit me.

TornadoOfSouls · 26/06/2020 19:54

Should add I’m mid-40s.

ShitUsername · 26/06/2020 19:57

31

New Look
topshop
Asos
Primark
H&M

Karmatime · 26/06/2020 19:57

54, Jigsaw, Whistles, Hush, Sweaty Betty, All Saints, sometimes White Company.
I find White Stuff and the Boden ‘fun’ stuff a bit frumpy.

Ughmaybenot · 26/06/2020 20:04

26

H&M - everything
Zara - work stuff
Joules - tops and dresses (altho they aren’t as good quality as they used to be!)
New Look - jeans
Fat face - dresses and jeans
ASOS - jumpers and casual dresses
Pretty Little Thing - going out stuff
And of course, Primark 😂 for everything 😂
I also go for a lot of country brands, like Barbour, Crew, RM Williams, Rydale Mackenzie and George etc.

Obviously I get other stuff too when I like it, but that’s normally where I find those bits

PegasusReturns · 26/06/2020 20:06

Early 40s and my last four online shops were:

Ted Baker
Zara
Marks and Spencer
Hush

Buzzfrightyears · 26/06/2020 20:06

32 - New Look, Primark, Asda, H&M are my fave shops

Srictlybakeoff · 26/06/2020 20:06
  1. Used to like mint velvet but not recently. For every place I shop there are only a few things from the collections I like. I do buy from whistles, jigsaw, massimo dutti, thought , sometimes white company and sometimes pure cashmere. I also occasionally but casual stuff from fat face.
chubbyhotchoc · 26/06/2020 20:22

35 lipsy, quiz, river island, boohoo and some next bits

Sooooobored · 26/06/2020 20:33

Mid-50s. In the last year I have bought from:
Ted Baker (top, t-shirt)
Phase Eight (work tops)
Monsoon (jumpsuit, winter dress)
M&S (t-shirt, blazer)
Next (loose trousers, branded stuff eg Superga trainers)
River island (culottes)
Oasis (tops, spotty dress, yellow shoes)
Debenhams (maxi skirt, red coat)

ladykuga · 26/06/2020 20:43

47, shop on Etsy. Found some amazing European designers who do really trendy, edgy clothing. I look at my items and dream about a day when life is back to normal and I can shock the world with my on point dress sense.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 02/07/2020 11:22

33 - SAHM so no work wear needed

Hush
Cos
Toast
& Other Stories
Boden (but I’ve found a lot of it quite frumpy recently)
Joules
Jigsaw
Whistles
Very occasionally M&S, Fat Face.

It all depends on your personal style, there’s no right and wrong. I never wore hoodies and trainers to begin with (though am trying to find some smarter trainers now).

There are shops I avoid (Next and Topshop for example) but it’s not an age thing, more because I know their style or cut doesn’t suit me or they use a lot of fabrics I don’t like.

Thesuzle · 02/07/2020 11:29

58
Bit over weight...
Poetry,
Madeline
J Lewis
Some M and S. (Not the bloody frilly stuff)
Phase eight (are they still going)
Laura Ashley, but they have gone from my town

Choice is getting smaller as I like to see stuff in the flesh, to get the colours right, have often been disappointed by online shopping

Purplecatshopaholic · 02/07/2020 11:48

50 here
Last few things I got came, pretty typically, from Michael Michael Kors, Vivienne Westwood, and 2 European labels. I also like All Saints, and ASOS. Not a fan of Boden, Fat Face, Joules, Phase 8, M&S, or Mint Velvet any more - just find them all a bit ‘mummsy’ these days (for want of a better word.l)

AuntieMarys · 02/07/2020 11:53

60 and 6 feet tall. It isn't easy.
Esprit, Levis, Uniqlo Next for trousers, Cos. I don't like prints, never wear dresses or skirts.
In my dreams, I'd stomp around like Gentleman Jack.

thedevilinablackdress · 02/07/2020 12:43

I bought from Seasalt for the first time recently. Excellent leggings and l/s tops.
I agree with those saying we need to stop using such pejorative, misogynistic words against ourselves. If it's not your taste, fine don't wear it.

SecondTimeCharm · 02/07/2020 12:50

33(soonShock) and mostly independent brands, a lot of french ones because I like to imagine I’m Jeanne Demas!

Also &other stories, Zara, La Redoute, Arket, Topshop for shoes, Reformation, Ganni, Net a Porter, Farfetch and sometimes Cos but it’s a little boxy for someone as short as I am. I only buy a max of 3 items a season tbh but I try to get good quality classics. Have a fairly neutral wardrobe.

Each to their own of course but to me Boden/Fat Face/Seasalt etc type brands is what my DM wears!

EnglishRain · 02/07/2020 12:51

I'm 28. I shop on ASOS, H&M, Next, Hobbs sale for work dresses.

peaceanddove · 02/07/2020 13:52

Jersey tops from Baukjen and The White Company because the quality is excellent.

My forever jeans are Gap Best Girlfriend ankle length. Have them in every colour and wash.

Knitwear from Zara because it's often a bit quirky, or from Cos if I want something smarter.

Weekend casual wear is usually Hush harems and sweatshirts from Etsy.

I mainly wear navy, grey, black and off white, the only colours I wear are blush pink or a soft red. On hot days I wear those v-neck, linen shift dresses from Next with big sunglasses and tan leather sandals from Ancient Greek. Easy and effortless, I think I have about 6 of them Grin

I avoid Joules and White Stuff because I dislike cheerful, cutesy clothing. I do have a very plain olive green raincoat from Seasalt in their tin cloth fabric which is fantastic quality and cut. Also have several of their plain Breton tops as it's a nice weight jersey. But I avoid their dresses and tunics as they're too 'middle aged art teacher' for my tastes.

I have no idea whether I'm frumpy or stylish, but I often get asked where my clothes are from which is nice.

Fidgety31 · 02/07/2020 14:17

I’m 44 and shop for work clothes at Next/Outfit. Footwear from Timberland(sandals and heeled boots not the flat ones)

But normal clothes I like bags and boots from Kurt Geiger.
Jeans from Levi’s as I always wear black skinnies and lot of tops from EMP.
I buy tops for going out from Lipsy.

I’ve dressed like I do now my whole life. Always been into rock music/bikes and it’s reflected in my clothing.

spacetime · 02/07/2020 15:01
  1. I live in Lucy & Yaks dungarees, DUNS wrap dresses, Levi jeans, and the rest are usually charity shop buys.
TooManyDaves250 · 02/07/2020 15:06

I recently bought a dress with Care Bears on! I wear what I like and give zero shits what other people think

TooManyDaves250 · 02/07/2020 15:07

Oh and I'm 35

Evennow · 02/07/2020 15:08

Am in my late 60s & refuse to do Mumsy or frumpy. Zara, Topshop, H&M, Joules, Gap. M&S have some non-frumpy eg fitted tee shirts (& much frumpiness too).
