OK , i have decided to stalk smaller Alix in 8 or 10. Is anyone sending any back to JL?
I will keep the 12 if not , but really I think a bit big on me and I still have another stone to lose . I can always resell on ebay later

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 10:55

This jumper arrived today. It’s bloody massive! Nothing like the picture at all. It hangs straight down to the bottom of my hip, and the sleeves dangle past the ends of my fingers. So I’m wondering if it’s been mis-sized and I should try another medium, or if I need to size right down. Anyone else got it - how does it fit on you?

Also tried this, which was a sartorial error of judgement. I looked like Andy Pandy.

oh we gotta see that top cherries! (come on I showed you the Jude trousers! ( maybe they would go together for full look!)
dont have the jumper, reviews say comes up small, so yes maybe miss-size or wrong tag. Have you checked the inner label?

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 11:06

Yes, the inner label says it’s a medium. On the basis of the reviews I had almost ordered a large then changed it to medium at the last minute. In normal times I’d phone them for exact measurements but the phone lines are closed, and last time I emailed it took 10 days to get a reply.

AuldFox · 17/07/2020 11:29

I’m here for the Andy pandy photo montage Grin

neveradullmoment99 · 17/07/2020 11:40

Oh yes, please post a photo of that top! I would love to see it in real life!

faustina · 17/07/2020 11:41

@ilovecherries - there's a live chat option on the website you could try? Bottom right hand corner of the page

Alsohuman · 17/07/2020 12:16

The first thing that would put me off that top is what a bugger that collar would be to iron. Not that I’m even sure where our iron is ...

Moominmammaatsea · 17/07/2020 12:17

@ilovecherries, I have the navy and parchment jumper; initially, I ordered it in a size medium as I thought it looked a neat fit, but I swapped it to a small in the JL sale. I actually really like the fit on me (I’m just shy of five feet nine inches) but if I’d wanted it to look as fitted as on the model I’d have had to opt for an XS. As it is, I hate being constrained by clothes that feel like they just fit and the jumper is definitely cropped and shapely but not too skimpy and tight.

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 13:30

Too big jumper (I’m 5’7 so it really is quite long) and Andy Pandy shirt, which is already back in the bag.

@ilovecherries I really like the AP shirt! I’ve almost bought it a few times.

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2020 13:36

Kala dress not sure, I had to size up for norks and definitely could not go smaller
Not sure about keeping this .I prefer it unbelted definitely

I somehow expected it to be more a Viyella fabric (I k ow it doesn’t say that in the description!), and the frill to be smaller and also more weighty. But the drill is quite big and very lightweight so it looks a bit ruff-like.

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 13:38

I think the Kala is one of these ‘needs to grow on you’ Toast items. Lends itself well to being half buttoned (or fully undone as a duster), with stuff underneath. Have you got a dark denim skirt?

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 13:41

I think I’ve decided to hang onto the Kala. I’m pretty ruthless with returns but I’d like to give it an opportunity as autumn wear. I paid £42 from JL iirc, so I’m pretty confident I’d go a long way to recovering that on eBay if I just can’t make it work.

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 13:50

I think both the Kala and the zoya have been let down by their belts. Both are very expensive at full price, then they’ve added belts that just don’t do them justice. I’d only use the belt to synch it in a bit from the back, but otherwise if I were to belt it I’d use something more interesting and substantial.

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2020 13:51

Nope Kala is going back.. £55 but just not me I've decided ..
Andy pandy shirt not as bad as I thought and I actually like the jumper on you C

Laska2Meryls · 17/07/2020 13:52

Also yes, I have the Zoya, its the same kind of thing..

neveradullmoment99 · 17/07/2020 13:57

I really like it @Laska2Meryls It is a beautiful colour!

ilovecherries · 17/07/2020 14:00

I’ve ordered the jumper in S to see. More bloody postage!

faustina · 17/07/2020 14:14

@ilovecherries - that Andy Pandy shirt looks really nice on you - I agree about not being buggered to iron the collar though

If any of you remember the indigo twill shirt/security tag saga I've just come back from the post office after speaking to a pleasant human being at Cambridge JL who said I could post it back to him and he'll take it off and return it by post. Fingers crossed! So I'm not looking for another one now, but if one does pop back in stock, it's very pretty and I can recommend!

Railingsohno · 17/07/2020 15:37

Oh dear oh dear my Toast package is showing delivered but there’s no card through the door! About to go and ask all my neighbours. £350 worth as bought 2 sizes of everything. Confused

Railingsohno · 17/07/2020 15:38

@ilovecherries love the Andy Pandy shirt! Great colours on you.

Railingsohno · 17/07/2020 15:39

@faustina that’s great about the tag -so annoying!
