I'd like to continue the thread too. Would love to see photos of everyone wearing toast. I bought that shirt too - unfortunately it didn't suit me. I think I've finished with the toast sale now - it's been a bit of a frenzy for me! I've ended up with the kado, two jumpsuits, the anja shirt and the ikat skirt. Oh and the chequerboard ikat dress, another JL bargain

So to put my money where my mouth is - here I am in toast!

@mizu oh that’s good to hear - is the shop quite big and well-stocked? And what are the prices like - are we talking JL level of discount 😉?

Def no to JL discounts generally and it is a bit of gamble when you go there tbh as I have been and found just the thing I want eg a TOAST bag I had had my eye on for ages at £99 down from £215 or a quirky jumper or cards or bowls.....and then other times when I've seen nothing that takes my fancy.

Ah ok thanks - always the way with outlets, worth a visit I reckon, will be open-minded to whatever might present itself.

I’ve been lurking on this thread and finally popped my Toast cherry today with the much maligned indigo v neck dress and the striped 3/4 sleeve tshirt in teal. Both are keepers, having sized down from 12 to a 10 in the dress.

The 12 dress and a pair of mahoosive indigo trousers (also a 12!) are winging their way back to JL, if anyone is still shopping.

@moonimama oh no 🤦‍♀️ I don’t know the pedigree of my carrots! I threw the label away. (Picked them up in garden centre as seedlings) I do know they’re going to be orange if they ever grow. I am not green fingered.

I would love the velvet throw, I think it looks beautiful .

John Lewis had some things at approximately 1.45 this morning , bit random when they add things, I then fell asleep again and of course all gone, not that I need anything.

Wahhh! No Toast parcels arriving today ...I feel bereft.. Still there is that bargain John Lewis linen dress on its way .
Count I am also growing carrots ! Bit I havent has such good germination this year . I think it been too dry .
Oh and I am going to dye my last years mid blue Toast linen trousers navy I think after eyeing up the sale ones in JL which have never come back in.... I do like a bit of dyeing !

Fellow Toast sale officianado here. Haven't been on S&B for a while but I'm chuffed to find you. I'm 5'11" so actually love the longer Toast garments.
@Countmeout I was awake in the wee hours and thought I'd nabbed a couple of size ten items in the JL clearance - a dress and some trousers. Email from JL just now telling me they're out if stock. Maybe they never were in stock🤔.
Currently deliberating on an order direct from Toast- the Kala dress, which has arrived without the belt, and the ume shirt dress in slate which is a 12 so a bit too roomy but practical for work. Am definitely keeping the Zoya check top.

Everything from JL has now arrived and everything is going back. Why do I never learn? It doesn’t matter what you call it - stone, bone, whatever - if it’s basically beige, it’s going to make me look like shit. And the trainers are lovely but I can’t get my high instep into them. No more orders now!

Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking on here for a while and loving hearing about all your purchases and looking at your photos. Yesterday I took delivery of the Ida dress direct from Toast - I’m not convinced it’s a great fit as it feels quite baggy where the belt ties. I love the fabric though. Does anyone else have it? I also got the Kala shirt closer to the beginning of the sale which I love. From JL I have bagged the indigo pleat front trousers (they are lovely), the indigo cotton twill shirt (also lovely) and the garment dyed linen kaftan top (good for summer, nice shape but I may not wear often). All mega bargains as still full price at Toast. The JL sale has been great, hasn’t it? I’ve also bought a couple of Kin bags and a pair of sandals. I rarely spend this much in one go but I’m delighted.

@Alsohuman I feel your pain! I’m v pale so beige/griege/camel/biscuit etc etc are all off limits for me. I look like a bowl of porridge which is most definitely not the look I’m going for.

Am now fighting the urge to go to my local JL to see if they have more bargain cashmere jumpers. Haven’t been in a shop apart from a Supermarket for ages and I know logically it’s not worth the risk. But then I keep thinking I know exactly what I’m looking for, could pay with contactless and be out within 10 mins 🙄

I ordered it, and I’m pleasantly surprised. Although I think I will need to wear a belt with it when I’m out and about- does that defeat the object of this style dress 🤔😅

Not at all, it would look fabulous with a belt. I can’t wear it belted because I no longer have a waist (thank you, menopause). I now think, rather than sleeping in it, I might wear it on holiday.

I took one for the team and ordered the Kin gingham shirt from Kin to see. It’s beautifully made and finished. You just don’t see seams like that anymore. It’s also very oversized. This is a 10, could easily wear and 8 without losing the oversized look. However, it doesn’t earn a place in my wardrobe. Feel it has strayed too far into mad artist category and I’m not really sure how I’d style it (not with slippers and joggers for sure!)

It would look great with a belt. I through it into my basket last week to get free postage for DH, with the intention of cutting it into a shirt, but I was very pleasantly surprised by it as well.

Thank you for your altruism cherries. I think it looks lovely, it’s remaining firmly on my wish list. I’d wear it with rolled black trousers and high top trainers or flat Chelsea boots. It would be nice in the winter with a roll neck under it.

@ilovecherries the fabric is thicker and less see through than i expected.

Good plan @Alsohuman i think it will be more comfortable as a dress than a nightie. I will try it on again later and take a photo to show it with a belt.

@ilovecherries - oooh that looks amazing on you!!! If it weren't for the fact that the only things I'm allowing myself are a couple more t-shirts and that indigo shirt (if it comes back into stock on JL) I'd be quite tempted myself now...

My colleague has that Uniqlo dress and it's fab on her - in fact I ordered the black one after I saw her in it but unfortunately did nothing for me. It's lovely if you don't need things to come in at the waist.

@ilovecherries - would you mind me asking how tall you are? I'm wondering how long that shirt would be on me (I'm 5'4)
