Black in the summer is very nice @Laska2Meryls

I have got to the point where I'm wondering if John Lewis will ban me for buying and returning so much! I thought I'd try one last thing and have ordered the white poplin shirt - and then, unless some more of the lovely light cotton tees pop back up on Toast itself, I am going to have to sit on my hands. It's been ages since I ordered so much from Toast - I've quite enjoyed it really!

Has anyone tried anything from Kin at John Lewis? I have been really surprised at how interesting it is.

I have bought This brilliant parka

and This funnel neck Breton

and if anyone is looking for either I can really recommend. No-one likes the parkas because they are oversized, so they're extremely cheap - but oversized was exactly what I was looking for. It's going to be my queueing for Waitrose in the rain jacket!

Pikachubaby · 03/07/2020 07:18

I tried the oversized parka and somehow looked like a giant toddler in her older sister’s coat Grin

Oversized does not work on me

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2020 07:26

Hello. Lurker here. Just marking the page :) I have a fair few Toast clothes.
Love some of the new collection!!! I bought the oxford shirt dress in pale blue which I love! Have a feeling that it will never be reduced :(
Not bought too much in the sale this year. I did get a bargain of the linen half sleeve on JL but a bit annoyed I missed quite a bit in their sale. I know they had the oxford pale blue shirt dress reduced but I was far too late for that and its never come back in as a return.
Anyway, hope you don't mind me posting. I mostly lurk anyway!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2020 07:28

I think the kin parka looks lovely @faustina but I bought one from asos broadly similar and oversized. If not, would have been tempted. Love the kind of mustard one but its OOS. Its a real bargain if it suits you.

Alsohuman · 03/07/2020 07:37

I like Kin a lot. I was an early adopter and some of my favourite clothes are from the range. I like And/or too. I’ve ordered the parka too, thank you for drawing my attention to it @faustina

I hope it really is as big as the reviews say, I need something I can get big jumpers under for dog walking and I had to size down.

Laska2Meryls · 03/07/2020 07:48

Yay! hi Never! 🙋

Laska2Meryls · 03/07/2020 07:51

Faustina JL should be pleased with you! I had one in my basket earlier but didn't buy it, and they are all oos now 😂

flamegame · 03/07/2020 07:55

I love toast - miserable and rainy here and spent a long time in my cashmere/wool jumper yesterday. So flattering.

They very kindly and generously supported our school raffle too.

AmethystMoonShine · 03/07/2020 08:15

I like the Kin parka but oos in my size, however they have it in khaki in new season stock so will keep my eyes peeled in the next sale.
I also liked the funnel neck Breton a lot but missed out as now oos.
I have just ordered some black suede cone heel shoes though, if they fit well they’ll be a bargain at 20 pounds.
I’m definitely going to make Kin a regular for my browsing, I’m not keen on a lot of the prints I saw and there was a fair bit of pale grey which drains my colouring but I like khaki and they had a fair amount of that. It’s very ‘Toasty’ in style, with a strong Japanese leaning I thought. I like the balloon trousers but win my shape a balloon is exactly how I’d look Grin

AmethystMoonShine · 03/07/2020 08:16

With not win my shape Blush

Alsohuman · 03/07/2020 08:19

You’d be surprised. I’ve got a pair of Oska balloon trousers and they’re one of the most flattering things I own. The trick is to wear a neat fitting top with them.

faustina · 03/07/2020 08:20

@Pikachubaby - I'm sorry it didn't suit.

I bought a brown in 14 (was all they had at the time) and a beige in 10 and they are both going back. The brown was massive but such a lovely colour and the beige was a nice beige - a bit darker than in the photo, but not was nice as the brown

Do keep on stalking the site @Laska2Meryls -as they come in and out of stock all the time

@Alsohuman - I am a 6/8 in Toast and the size 10 parka was more than adequate with a huge cashmere jumper underneath. I think most people just wanted something more fitted

faustina · 03/07/2020 08:24

@AmethystMoonShine - I like the little buckle thing they have at the back of their trousers, don't you? Also in the new season stuff, they have the most beautiful gingham black and white oversized shirt (the model wearing it is stunning) - and a dress in the same fabric, but I MUST STOP BUYING THINGS!

Inforthelonghaul · 03/07/2020 08:24

Just found this thread and realise I recognise lots of posters from the Hush threads. Have you all moved on to Toast now? I am in awe of how often you all seem to buy new clothes and wish I had the budget to allow it!

ilovecherries · 03/07/2020 08:41

Hi never. Nice to see you here :)

I really rate Kin as well, I’ve tried some wtaf things but have also found some gems, usually at great prices as most of the stuff I love other people seem to hate. I have a denim shirt dress from there that I think a pp also has and wore it loads last winter. I like their trousers as well.

AmethystMoonShine · 03/07/2020 08:42

@faustina oooh I’ve not seen the gingham shirt...... gosh this thread is bad for my bank balance!

@Alsohuman hmm I might sue another look at the balloon trousers then.....Grin

AmethystMoonShine · 03/07/2020 08:43

Take not sue!
I must start proof reading Blush

ilovecherries · 03/07/2020 08:49

longhaul, I TALK about clothes a lot as they really interest me. Most of my buying happens at sale times, and I tend to save up for these. I live pretty simply otherwise. I didn’t have much of a clothing budget at all when I was young, then I got very fat and at size 24 your options are limited to say the least. What can I say, clothes make me happy. Talking about them, trying them on, thinking about them.

ilovecherries · 03/07/2020 08:51

I find proofreading makes no difference. Autocorrect still randomly messes with it after you hit post!
Laska2Meryls · 03/07/2020 08:55

Long haul
Hi, I still buy some Hush, but its all a bit samey now, and the quality is not as good as it was. Toast I really only buy at sale time.. but like Cherries I love clothes, but do send back more than I keep !

Alsohuman · 03/07/2020 09:09

It’s me with the Kin denim dress. I wear mine loads, quite often open over a T-shirt and trousers on cooler summer days.

I very rarely buy anything unless it’s reduced. The above dress was an exception because I loved it and had £40 worth of JL vouchers.

Countmeout · 03/07/2020 09:23

Hi @longhaul and @Inforthelonghaul I have only 3 hush things. Fell for the quality of Toast.

Balloon trousers didn’t work for me but have been wearing the Toast Alix since I got them this week - weather awful- I generally buy in sale too.

@ilovecherries and @Laska2Meryls hello :)

@Countmeout - I have a few hush things. I mostly have Toast stuff and am building up a sizeable collection of sezane.
Toast stuff is timeless. I much prefer their winter collections. I have loads of stuff from toast. Aquired mostly in the sale and some times as one offs.
I have been a fan for many years. I have some trousers dating back god knows when!! Slouchy flares they were called!

neveradullmoment99 · 03/07/2020 09:36

I also have lots of jumpers. I have the angel sleeved striped one from the winter collection in red. Very much a bargain in the Christmas sale on John lewis. My full price birthday present was the oatmeal easy jumper. Still not reduced!
