Thank you both, the tags are coming off 😁

@ilovecherries

I bought the cord version of the collared denim one last winter. I was able to size down one size from my normal Toast size. However I sent it back as it was like wearing a coat indoors. I just couldn’t get comfy in it.
It wasn't this cord dress by any chance was it cherries? I snaffled one at the start of this sale for £35 (£35!!) and love it, will be perfect for work and let's face it, it'll be autumn by the time I'm back in the office anyway. If it was the one you returned then I'm much obliged!
Laska2Meryls · 02/07/2020 07:17

The Seiko skirt came yesterday, have decided not to keep, its nice but not so keen on the tulip shape on me. Really disappointed with the green slub linen jumper , too big and boxy , so going back also.. I have also decided to send back the Anni skirt, wven though I do like it, because its too similar to one I bought last year ( checked linen skirt) and tbh I can't see me wearing it , now I am no longer working.
I did nab the bone linen short sleeve jumper from JL this morning though, hoping that will be nice.
I think they may do final reductions today ..

ilovecherries · 02/07/2020 09:19

I did return one exactly like that, Zinnia! It’s nice to think we might all be passing clothes round for each other Smile

AmethystMoonShine · 02/07/2020 14:02

Just looked at my order history and my final sale order (two jumpers) when the final reductions were made was 18th July.... drat! I was sure it was earlier.

Moominmammaatsea · 02/07/2020 14:45

So many pages to catch up on! I’ve been too busy being a full-time distance learning enforcer that I’ve not had a minute to log in.

Anyway, I took delivery this morning of the cotton sateen tie-waist dress in olive green and it is actually really lovely and a great length as I’m just shy of 5’9”. It cost £48 instead of £160 in the JL dregs/returns sale and it may prove to be one of those frocks that punches massively above its weight. The only downer - which may ultimately put me off - is that it could possibly be too high maintenance in the steam ironing stakes (lockdown has made me reconsider everything in my life which adds to my stress and mental load). Interestingly, I’m a Toast 10 but I ordered a size 12 as I thought I could cinch the waist extra tight and then there would be room in the shoulders to allow for a fine-knit jumper in the autumn. However, it is a neat fit and I think the 10 would have been too skimpy. Another slow-burner addition to my collection of understated and utilitarian (rather than show-stopping) dresses!

Hi to everyone, nice to be back among friends.

Countmeout · 02/07/2020 14:47

Goodness that’s a long way away, the winter sale must have been shorter or did I imagine that?
I presume they’ll ad some more ‘summery’ stuff to it or will that all be held back for mid season.

@Countmeout I think they might add some new bits at the same time as the final reductions. If we’re lucky there might be summer bits but I suspect there’ll be small quantities of a small number of sizes of old stock they have lurking.
I’m sooooo impatient Grin

ilovecherries · 02/07/2020 15:17

I’m wearing utilitarian CoS today as a cheaper alternative to Toast. I’m wondering whether to send the red Ume dress back. Now I have the steel one, it’s much more my colour. I keep saying m going to move away from blue and grey, but then come back to the fact they actually suit me and many of the more autumnal colours don’t.

Pikachubaby · 02/07/2020 16:02

Does anyone have the silk velvet jumpsuit? They look so amazing (think it’s technically last winter’s collection)

Me! In the green gold. It’s heavenly!
Alsohuman · 02/07/2020 16:06

cherries, I think it’s a fair bet it will languish at the back of the wardrobe. I’d send it back and use the money for something you’re sure about. I only keep things I completely love now.

ilovecherries · 02/07/2020 16:11

Yeah, I think you are right. This is the reason I don’t tend to buy things in multiple colours - because I always end up with a favourite and the other one ends up unloved. I didn’t realise I wasn’t sure about it until the steel arrived and I realised I LOVED that one.

Laska2Meryls · 02/07/2020 16:39

More reductions ! I bought the black Cercle bag still. £79 but I reckon that's it !

Laska2Meryls · 02/07/2020 16:40

Rebought that is ! Ok only 14 cheaper but still..

AmethystMoonShine · 02/07/2020 17:27

I’m so glad @Laska2Meryls was right about final reductions Grin

Just got a dress I’ve had my eye on for ages down to 48 pounds. I think it’s the chalkboard one, the dark colour way not the yellow toned one.
That’s me done I think.....
Still waiting for the Zoya in S to compare for to the M... but may send both back?

AmethystMoonShine · 02/07/2020 19:34

I’ve been eyeing that cercle bag @Laska2Meryls I hope you like it. I just can’t justify one so will be happy if you like yours Smile

JulesJules · 02/07/2020 20:01

Oh yes, I've just noticed the chalkboard dress at £48!

ilovecherries · 02/07/2020 20:17

Will be interested to know how you get on with the chalkboard dress. My normal size (which fitted fine on shoulders and bust), wouldn’t fasten at the waist Blush

Moominmammaatsea · 02/07/2020 20:26

Can anyone give any guidance on the fit of the Solovair monkey shoes? I have a few pairs of the Cheaney boots and shoes and find them really big, even though I have fairly wide feet, but I recently ordered a pair of size 5 Paraboot shoes (usual size) and I felt like one of the Ugly Sisters trying to squeeze my tootsies into Cinderella’s glass slipper.

AmethystMoonShine · 02/07/2020 20:39

@ilovecherries I’ve ordered a size up from my usual Toast dress size as a few reviews said it was a neat fit at the top, and I have a broad back and shoulders so fingers crossed it will be okay. Sounds like an odd cut though...... I’ll report back!

slipperyeel · 02/07/2020 20:52

I’ve ordered the wax duffle down to £145. The reviews are mixed so expecting to send it back.

Laska2Meryls · 02/07/2020 21:41

Amethyst
The Cercle bag is lovely, I had ordered it previously at £95 , but thought it was too expensive , it still is really for a raffia bag, (not even lined!) but its this French company , MaisonNH Paris , and handmade .. beautifully crocheted and of natural raffia (so many summer bags are paper straw) ..

I first dithered over sending it back , and then over reordering it for the last couple of weeks, so I amnow looking at it as an investment summer bag! (I have ordered it in black -I think its more Chic than the natural ! Grin)

AmethystMoonShine · 02/07/2020 22:09

@Laska2Meryls that’s great that you know you love it Grin
It does sound like great quality, enjoy!

AmethystMoonShine · 02/07/2020 22:10

@Laska2Meryls and yes I’d choose black too, tres chic Grin
