Hello!

There used to be a lovely what are you wearing today? thread(s) on here for people who were plus size (circa 16/18 and up I think).

Could anyone tell me if they've seen one lately please? If there isn't one on the go, would anyone be interested in joining me on here?

I'm size 16/18. Today I'm in a New Look floral dress and DM boots. Pic attached (hopefully).

I think it's a flattering angle . The side view looks like a completely different, (much sturdier), person! But my limbs are my slimmest parts. Bum, hips, tummy and boobs are another story entirely.

Today’s look: leopard print kaftan shirt dress (H&M), neon pink sliders (office, I think?), big gold star hoop earrings (Topshop). Soon to be added: a very big straw hat, as I have a report to write so I’m going to decamp to the garden.

I work for the NHS and until this week was still at the hospital every day, so there’s a LOT of casual wardrobe happening at the moment which I couldn’t wear to work normally!

Hello . I’m being brave and putting a photo on.I bought these Levi’s in the sale size 20. I decided they fit, cut off the labels and walked the dogs in them. But they don’t fit do they?. Trouble with being plus size is that , whilst it’s humiliating when stuff is too small, and I often keep tight stuff any way, thinking that I can’t do better, when stuffs too big, I can’t really take it in, and. So I have it and it languishes at the back of the drawer , or I get fatter and remember them just as they get too small.

If these get too small, I might think about a gastric band though.

Hmmmm, so, no, I don't think they exactly fit as in they are clearly big on you.

However, I really like wearing things oversized. I personally think it looks nice and is often comfier than fitted. It really bothers me when people say plus size women have to wear fitted clothes to look slimmer. No! I like baggy fit clothes, so nerr.

So, if it were me, I'd keep them and wear them, even though they arent perfect. Or else, if you don't like the loose fit, you could sell them for the price of a new pair maybe?

I have to keep hoisting them up, and they are so big in the legs that when I had lunch they twisted round like a nightie.Trouble with being apple shaped, I thought it was so nice not to be cut in two by the waistband, also they are straight legged so I thought it was the cut that was different. I am an 18 in jeans, 16 in some brands, but I got John Lewis and partners jeans in an 18, last week and they seemed a bit tight, which freaked me out as their sizes are usually generous. But they did fit, I probably should have kept them and ditched the nightly biscuits.I haven’t dared weigh myself, but know I have some lockdown poundage. I think I will frame these Levi’s and put them n the wall as a reminder that I am shit at online shopping.
Sorry if this sounds self obsessed, think I am trying to tease out something about sizing and shape for plus sized women.

Hank you for the inspiration. My other new thing is this Joules dress. I have a very stylish ddil who often wears leopard, but I worried that I was too big. Like it much more than the jeans, and I won’t pass away from overheating.

I'm a 22 bottom. 26 top. Today I'm wearing some yellow flowery shorts made by myself with some 70s fabric my mum has hoarded for nigh on 50 years. And a navy sleeveless swing t shirt.

Size 18/20 abit frumpy mum style but it's sooooo hot here today and I do like a dress with pockets . I could of gone upstairs to the long mirror but standing on the sofa seemed easier 🤣

Shamelessly copy me all you like I am a photo free zone as we don’t even own a full length mirror, but this is my dress on the model....

I'm wearing this skirt (ankle length on me - not normally my thing) which I bought in Australia nearly 15 years ago with a cream t-shirt I bought at the same time. I bought a few outfits on that trip (long story involving a mid-winter house move and being unable to find the box with my summer clothes!) and the t-shirts were all double layered at the front - do we do that over here (UK)?

I'm on the shelf regarding oversized -v- fitted. I quite like a looser fit but I'm not averse to something more structured either.

One thing I do know is that the correct size is the best size. Sizing up may be looser but it doesn't necessarily mean it looks better. I made that mistake for years.

Very similar leopards, Fenella, mine has 3/4 sleeves. I tried to do a picture on the model, but that might be a new trick for another day.

Zebracat those jeans would look ok with them rolled up to show more ankle and with a longer top. They're not huge on the legs, just not skinny. Try a double roll, maybe tack it into place.
My outfit today ( not in London and at work) was a bright loose li nen tunic and black cropped leggings.
Pink chub rub shorts from snag have just arrived so will wear a dress tommorow.

I love the leopard print dresses.

What a brilliant thread.

I'm a 16/18 on top and 14 on bottom.
I've been experimenting with more pattern on my bottom half and plain on top as that's apparently what an inverted triangle should wear.
So far so good.

Today I'm at him so have on a loose white vest top and some black and white floaty trousers.

This is what I was wearing earlier today. Now the long sleeved top has been swapped for a sun top, as it hot this afternoon.
