Hello!

There used to be a lovely what are you wearing today? thread(s) on here for people who were plus size (circa 16/18 and up I think).

Could anyone tell me if they've seen one lately please? If there isn't one on the go, would anyone be interested in joining me on here?

I'm size 16/18. Today I'm in a New Look floral dress and DM boots. Pic attached (hopefully).

Sod it. I'm going to order the smaller one and sell this one (yeah right!).

sugarbum · 08/09/2020 20:59

So today I stepped so far out of my comfort zone I probably should have quarantined on return 😂
I agreed put myself in front of a camera and let the whole world are how many chins I have. And it was fine. I look fine. Just fat, but I'm ok with that. I wore my me-made frock and borrowed my friend Anna's babylis curl thingy which is amazing. I haven't told work I was moonlighting on my day off, not that they would care, but this is what I did www.hochanda.com/cinema/45204 ( it's a link to a selling channel, but I'm not trying to sell stuff! It's a bit niche anyway 😁)

LadyPrigsbottom · 08/09/2020 21:07

Damn it @StCharlotte, I am meant to be not shopping. Stop posting lovely, surprisingly good quality for the price, dresses immediately Wink!

Oooooh @sugarbum, I shall take a look right now!

@sugarbum, I've just watched the start of that. Are you the one describing the bags with the lovely, shiny, dark hair? You are honestly, so stunning and really natural on camera! Well done you.

I've received a Stitchfix box today and I'm
completely out of my comfort zone with this - it includes a pair of butter-soft stretch denim jeans, a lovely deep burgundy v neck, flatteringly shaped long sleeve jumper and a pair of navy blue Superga trainers!

I look like someone else, I would never have picked up these jeans in a shop and can't believe they actually fit me!!

sugarbum · 08/09/2020 21:15

@ladyprigsbottom yes I'm sitting down for most of it as I did some sewing demonstrations during the hour. Thank you. I'm glad I went for it , and they asked me back to do another show in December! Christmas frock required 😁

I can totally see why! You come across so well on there. I can see you doing a regular segment on morning tv! Amazing, and how exciting to find a new opportunity at the moment, when everything is so messy in the job market. Really, so well done!!!

@ChequerBoard, I'm toying with the idea of using them, but had a bit of a meh experience with Lookiero, so I'm hesitant. I believe @LivingDeadGirlUK uses Stitch Fix too and rates them. Definitely tempted! I have to say, the one thing with my first Lookiero box was the absolutely incredulity I felt when everything fit me so well! I was thinking, omg I don't find things which fit me like this and I am shopping for myself and try things on etc.

@ChequerBoard outfit sounds lovely :)

LadyPrigsbottom · 08/09/2020 21:34

Ah speak of the LivingDead and she will appear Grin. It is you who gets Stitch Fix boxes isn't it? Otherwise, I'm talking nonsense again!

Well done on the TV appearance thing! I watched the start. I really like the colours of your dress on you.

Also interesting to hear that you like your Stitch Fix box. They aren´t available here, but I am quite curious about them and how good they are at getting your style right.

I have tried a few Junarose things and I find the sizing strange. They seem to be made for people with a much more straight up and down figure than me, so either they are too tight boobs and hips but okay elsewhere, or just too big all over if I go up a size.

StCharlotte · 09/09/2020 13:31

Ooh a star is born!

LadyPrigsbottom · 09/09/2020 14:15

Yes, definitely for the best if I don't buy any more clothes for the time being StCharlotte!

Here I am in Seasalt dress, 18, from eBay, navy tights, Snag, size E and M&S leather hiking boots.

@greyinganddecaying
I just bought the most wonderful raincoat in TK Max. It’s danish, weird lettering on the label but something like da:wi, blue grey, rubberised, minimalistic and utterly perfect,I got an XXL which is a bit big, I am18-20. I will try to post a picture. £29.95, seasalt are around a a hundred and, in my experience, not reliably waterproof.

Zebracat · 09/09/2020 18:09

Here, forgive my messy hall

Thanks @Zebracat - id not thought of tkmaxx, that’s just what I’m after!

MoragTheTulgahWitch · 09/09/2020 18:14

Hi everyone, I've been lurking here for a while. You all look fantastic! I'm trying to work up the courage to post my own outfits soon! I'm in the process of organising my wardrobe so I can have all my Autumn clothes to hand easily, and put the out of season clothes into storage. I find it useful to do this at the start of every season. I really love this thread, it's so nice to see all your beautiful outfits!

LadyPrigsbottom · 09/09/2020 18:44

Welcome @MoragTheTulgahWitch Smile! I bloody love a good wardrobe clear out and re-organise! One of my most satisfying hobbies!

@Zebracat, oooooh nice coat! I didn't know Seasalt coats weren't very reliable! That is quite shocking really, considering the price.

Actually my favourite raincoat came from TK Maxx. Navy natch.

I have got a gorgeous red mac from John Lewis which I bought the week before lockdown 🙄 It's out of the cupboard now and ready to go...

Zebracat · 09/09/2020 19:23

I love Seasalt. I think that some of their coats are properly waterproof, and say so, and some not, but I didn’t understand that until I’d bought a not, shame as I walk dogs every day regardless of weather. I love my new coat, would have paid much more for it If necessary. I’ve also got a Jack Murphy from TkMaxx which is waterproof and warm, too warm for September.

sugarbum · 10/09/2020 14:28

I really like that seasalt dress @LadyPrigsbottom
I'm wearing a second hand lady v dress today, for no other reason than it was the first thing to hand when I got dressed this morning, and it requires no ironing. I love the colour too.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/09/2020 17:03

I'm awol this week as we are camping :) wearing walking trousers, thermals, and a rain coat most days!

LadyPrigsbottom · 10/09/2020 17:24

Enjoy your holiday LivingDead!

Thanks sugarbum! It's one of my favourites. Total bargain on eBay. It's a bit faded, but still nice. I think it'll be good for Remembrance Sunday as it sort of looks like poppies.

I used to have a great Jack Murphy raincoat, which I foolishly left in a pub in South London somewhere, never to be seen again, obvs.

Dc2 and I went on a lovely outing this morning and we are both tired. Luckily dc1 is too after first full week back at school, so just vegging out this afternoon. Dc2 is asleep! Not sure if and when to wake him.

Here I am in Uniqlo jeggings and leopard print tshirt from Sainsbury's.

Slobbing right now in my lucy locket loves casuals and a t-shirt, because I'm working from home. I really really need to wash my hair. Then I'm going to put on a frock because its Friday. Or I might not. don't know yet Grin

LivingDeadGirlUK · 12/09/2020 17:20

I'm back from the lakes :) Today I'm in my green mint velvet trousers and a navy t shirt from M&S. It's been so nice to have a break, first break since all this pando stuff started.

I started putting all my summer clothes away and now we are supposedly due a heatwave!

LadyPrigsbottom · 12/09/2020 17:52

Did you get frocked up in the end @sugarbum Grin? I am still in the same jeggings and tshirt I had on Thursday Blush. I've had a laaaazy few days!

Welcome back @LivingDeadGirlUK! Hope you had a good trip.

We have got sweet F.A. planned this weekend and I'm definitely feeling a bit restless. Ah well, it will be Monday before we know it!
