@Sickoffamilydrama love the dress from yesterday. I’m in my usual Hush T-shirt and Joules Shorts which seem to be my standard weekend wear.

I’ve almost finished making a dress though (need to hem all the layers), but I feel I need some shape wear but don’t own any - any recommendations?

Think it looks perfect as it is @Wildernesstips - you certainly don't look like you need shape wear. You are very talented!

@Shannith is right, I'm another rider on the thread, although just sold my youngster as not in a position to have a horse at the moment, sadly, for various reasons. Hopefully I'll in the market for another this time next year, though, no doubt another ex-racehorse, much to DH's disgust! 😂

I swear by the Mark Todd full seat breeches. They're pricey, but hard-wearing. Stood up to full days on the yard when I worked at a riding school, and I like the suede seat for a little bit of extra grip (without the restrictive, sticky feel of silicone, which I can't abide), especially when my little mare was 3, liked to buck, and I only had a race exercise saddle for her. 😂

I'll be honest, though, nowadays I do mostly just ride in running tights or jeggings unless I'm competing. They're just as comfy as jodhs, and far cheaper, and I don't resent binning and replacing them if they develop a hole. If I've paid a lot of money for jodhs then I'll damn well get my money's worth and wear them with holes all over the place, so best for everyone if I just wear cheap jeggings and avoid flashing my pants. 😂

Some lovely outfits.

I spent the morning in Lycra and then skirt and top.

I’m very conscious of my stomach in this skirt. I do think it wasn’t a good buy and that maybe skirts just aren’t for me.

@Shannith @toastfiend thanks for the recommendations (or not!) I’m currently wearing a £10 pair I bought from amazon. They’re doing the job. My instructor sold me a pair of winter waterproof fleecey lined ones and they’re amazing (she got them from decathalon).

I agree re the sticky seat. I’ve worn a pair of them previously and didn’t feel secure - as just felt like I couldn’t move so they were swiftly sold on.

I was wondering whether to splurge but may wait it out until my birthday and ask dh to get me a pair. I’ve ridden in jeans previously although not supposed to. But for an hour or so at a time it’s fine.

@Lobsterquadrille2 also agree - Mumma lobster wins! 😂

Speaking of lobsters.... today’s Tshirt is from oasis. Last summer.

Thank you!! She will be really pleased (I told her I was posting her photograph).

@ememem84 I love your T shirt!!

Sooverthemill · 19/07/2020 09:29

@Softpebbles and @Wildernesstips you both look fine. Women have tummies ( look at old 50s photos of women like Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor, they have stomachs and look fab). I'm conscious of mine too even though I'm pretty toned these days that tummy sticks out. But it's been through a lot and as my DD says, 'your body does amazing things every day, celebrate it'. She is wise

@Lobsterquadrille2your mum looks amazing!
@ememem84 great tee

It's soooo hot and we still have the flying ant swarms here which is gross and I must have spent £50+ on ant killer this week. They are one of my phobias ( along with bridges, who knows why)

Top: gap
Trousers: hush Monaco perfect for this weather
Sandals: M&S s

Enjoy the day. DH has a week off and he is driving me crazy because he needs entertainment and I am busy! DD is very poorly and still hasn't recovered from the whatever it was in mid May. She's started being sick again. She's lost weight. It's a worry.

@Wildernesstips wow what an amazing creation. And you don’t look like you need shapewear.

Chilled out day today. Dog walk and a coffee.

@Sooverthemill sorry to hear that DD is still not as well as she should be. You seem to deal with it all so calmly.

Justonedayatatime11 · 19/07/2020 11:13

Sickoffamilydrama · 19/07/2020 12:58

@Wildernesstips that dress is amazing, you're very talented. Echo others, you definitely don't need shape wear.

Lovely morning pottering in town with DS and DH, including a visit to the park, where we all got very muddy!

Dungarees - Lucy & Yak
Top - Juno Jack's nursing top. I haven't breastfed in over 6 weeks now, but I can't find any other stripy tops like this that I like the cut of. I bought some from TK Maxx but they all look a bit frumpy for some reason, so the hunt continues!

Excuse DS' toys all over the floor. They're meant to be ones that you 'slice' with a knife, but he just pulled them all apart and scattered them throughout the house... 😂

LaGoulueRevenue · 19/07/2020 15:23

Not posted in a couple of days, but love everyone's outfits having caught up. And that green dress is the stuff of dreams @Wildernesstips
Also, @Softpebbles, do NOT be conscious of your stomach in that skirt! Those skirts are a trend I can't pull off but they look so cool on others, including you.

See by Chloé shirt and ancient Topshop jeans. I think I bought these jeans when the deliberately distressed, slashed denim look first came out and my dad never fails to offer to buy me a new pair whenever he sees me wearing them 😂

ememem84 · 19/07/2020 15:57

Also in distressed jeans here. Ddad also does the same.

My granny offered to sew them for me once...!

Teal v neck top from oasis. Nothing special today.

Flipflops when I’ve been out the house. An ancient pair of reefs.

In the Office tomorrow so may make more of an effort.

LesLavandes · 19/07/2020 16:44

Hi. I'm not part of your group but do have a question! You all wear such lovely clothes and different daily.

So presumably you wash them and have to iron them. I absolutely hate ironing. Just interested, thanks😊

Sooverthemill · 19/07/2020 17:12

@LesLandes not 100% sure what the question was! But yes I wash clothes and when they need it I iron them ( eg linen) but tons of clothes get a 5 minute cool tumble and then folded up no ironing required. I used to love having an ironing lady.....

Shannith · 19/07/2020 17:13

Quick photo before I catch up

Jeans - river island via charity
Top - not sure!
Belt - probably Topshop - very old
Sandals- Dorothy Perkins

LaGoulueRevenue · 19/07/2020 17:45

Haha @ememem84, FIL is the same as well. He says 'I'm not sure if you're aware but there a rip in your trousers' every. Time.

@LesLavandes I stopped ironing in lockdown and don't intend on starting again! Unless there're some really stubborn creases or I have somewhere important to go in which case a quick once over will do.

LaGoulueRevenue · 19/07/2020 17:46

Great, chic outfit @Shannith

ememem84 · 19/07/2020 18:10

@LesLavandes I don’t iron as a rule. Only if absolutelynecessary. And then I wear something else !

Wildernesstips · 19/07/2020 18:17

@LesLavandes I don’t wash after every wear unless obviously dirty or smelly. I also don’t iron much at all. DH is pretty good at hanging washing so it doesn’t need it (I just can’t get the hang of it).

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, I think we are sometimes our own worst enemies. Even when I was 7 1/2 stone I thought I looked fat - it’s only on looking back that I saw I wasn’t 🙄😄!

Dress: Old Calvin Klein Via TKMaxx

@LaGoulueRevenue the detail on those sleeves is exquisite.
