What 'cheapies' do you like?
Do you always have them around or do you only buy when you're trying to spend less?

Superdrug's B Pure (especially the Micellar Oil) and Me+ (especially the niacinamide with zinc) ranges are really good.

Primark's dupe perfumes are brilliant and some of their makeup is pretty good, although it's a bit hit and miss and I find their cleansers don't work well and upset my skin a lot.

Rimmel's eye definer is excellent :)

I'm using some cheap random coconut oil for hair I bought in a discount shop at the moment and it far outperforms the Aussie and John Frieda and Loreal products I was using on my curly mad hair so I'm well pleased with that!

YessicaHaircut · 19/06/2020 13:58

I love Superdrug simply pure hydrating serum. Costs £2.99 and usually the range is buy one get one half price, so £4.50ish for 2. The Aldi Q10 and Soy serums are pretty decent too and around £1.80 from memory (not been to Aldi in quite a while!). Also love the little green tins of aloe vera Vaseline for £1.

Calibrachoa · 19/06/2020 14:02

Childs Farm baby lotion is great as eye make up remover. The only winter i didn't get eczema on my eyelids was when i used this.
Nivea soft hand cream
Nivea tinted lip balm
Burts bees lip balm and mascara
Dove soap bar for face

TheCanterburyWhales · 19/06/2020 14:02

Repeat purchases and I will continue to buy:
Astral
Blue pot Nivea
Superdrug Vit E hot cloth
Neutrogena Norwegian 24 hour body lotion (smells fresh and gorgeous, sinks in immediately, leaves skin like silk, found it in Tesco by accident, will now never use anything else and get all my friends to buy it) I discovered the hand cream too which is amazing.
Perfumes: Yardley Jade smells like Chanel Cristalle. Boots do an enormous bottle of lemon cologne which is about £8 and wonderful for summer.

user5656 · 19/06/2020 14:12

Boots own brand eye make up remover in the blue bottle.
Effective and non greasy.

Bluewavescrashing · 19/06/2020 14:12

Simple soap, £1.25 for 4 bars, lasts ages. I use it in the shower then a bit of shower gel for fragrance.

My local pharmacy sells lovely body butters for £1, nearly identical to Body Shop body butters which are about £15.

Tillytess · 19/06/2020 14:17

Maybelline brow satin. Have used all sorts of different brow products, some very expensive and this one is the best

Ticklemeelmo · 19/06/2020 14:27

Superdrug B micellar water- huge bottle for £2ish

Nivea blue two tone makeup remover, I've used this ever since I saw it recommended on a thread here and it's excellent- cheap, removes makeup in one swipe and doesn't sting
Blistex lip relief cream- the only product that sorts out my flaking lips in winter

Batiste dry shampoo

Max Factor makeup is usually good value and quality- mascara- False last effect, liquid liners and single eyeshadows

Barry M nail polishes. Not universally great but many are good for the price

Quackersandcheese3 · 19/06/2020 14:33

Avon glimmerstick eyeliners .

ChrisPriss · 19/06/2020 14:38

Boots own brand fragrance free face wash, cheap and doesn't irritate my sensitive skin

PersonaNonGarter · 19/06/2020 19:15

Boots Hand and Nail Cream - Intensive. Fragrance Free.

It’s £1.99. It is brilliant. Would happily pay much more.

Immigrantsong · 19/06/2020 19:22

The Ordinary is good for skincare with active ingredients, like vitC.
The Inkey also good for skincare.
Revolution does great make up.
Essence at Wilko has the best eye pencils, mascara and nail varnish. Lipsticks too.
Lidl does some perfume dupes for famous brands every now and then that cost 4.99 and are perfumes and not eau de toilettes. I bought them all and everyone thinks I wear designer perfume, when it's lidl.
La roche posay makes great sunblock especially if you find them on offer.

LadyEloise · 19/06/2020 19:50

Palmers Coconut Oil Body Lotion.
DH said I smelled lovely (with it on).

MabelMoo23 · 19/06/2020 21:00

The Inkey List - I use their Hyralauronic acid and their retinol. Both excellent and really good value

Dove Pro-age Body lotion, it’s something like £3.20 for a huge 400ml bottle and it sorts my horrendously dry skin out no problem. Sali Hughes recommended it in one of her instagram vids and honestly it’s fab

ScribblyGum · 19/06/2020 21:05

Waitrose four pack camomile soap. Have bought and tried countless expensive luxury soaps and just keep coming back to these. Lovely light fresh scent.

Calibrachoa · 19/06/2020 21:41

I like Bourjois liquid eyeliner but will have to find an alternative now they've stopped selling in England

JaffaJaffJaffpussycatpuss · 19/06/2020 21:55

Boots own brand baby bubble bath.
only £1 when on offer and I buy it for myself (no DC)

JaffaJaffJaffpussycatpuss · 19/06/2020 21:57

I use and love the Poundland liquid eyeliner too, it's very good.

LadyEloise · 19/06/2020 22:01

Catrice nail poish

FAQs · 19/06/2020 22:03

Primark liquid foundation, I’ve got dry skin and tried so many different foundations including expensive brands and some one recommended it on here, it was £3 and my skin has really improved.

lockdownfeelings · 19/06/2020 22:03

So...? Vanilla body mist is amazing!
Ponds C Cold cream cleanser is the best thing to clean the skin and my face loves it much more than all the expensive cleansers I've tried in between.

Brieminewine · 19/06/2020 22:08

Revolution banana powder - so much better than its expensive counterparts!
The ordinary foundation - exact colour match of NARS but lasts longer!

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 19/06/2020 22:15

Badedas shower gel.(I know, I use soap, but it smells lovely)
Collection primer, use it alone in the summer.
New find, Vaseline antibacterial hand cream. It soaks in, is light but works brilliantly.
Dd finds the only shampoo that doesn’t make her hair claggy is Alberto balsam.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 19/06/2020 22:19

Boots do an enormous bottle of lemon cologne which is about £8 and wonderful for summer.. Agree, but I once had to lock myself in the loo because I got pursued by a swarm of wasps.

Regretsy · 19/06/2020 22:51

Having experimented with skincare for years for my spotty adult skin I now use: cerave moisturiser and Aldi Q10 day cream, body care revuelle eye cream, the ordinary retinol and garner misceller water. All are cheap. Have tried more expensive stuff but my skin is much clearer now. Could do with some recommendations for a good cheap plumping night moisturiser though.
