Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

Princess Anne wore the same tiara on her wedding day. I guess it's the blood princess wedding tiara! It's gorgeous.

Well played Bea! Beautiful dress and she looks so happy. Is that Queen Marys fringe tiara?

The flowers are incredible

StartupRepair · 18/07/2020 22:16

That is so lovely to wear one of the Queen's vintage dresses. How special.

Eaumyword · 18/07/2020 22:16

That whole 'blood princess' bobbins turns my stomach but it's a wonderful tiara, looks like giant stalactites of diamonds!

Plastictattoo · 18/07/2020 22:16

Just beautiful. Love her delighted grin

paradyning · 18/07/2020 22:17

Wow amazing!

itswinetime · 18/07/2020 22:19

According to the royal family twitter

Princess Beatrice wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell and the Queen Mary diamond fringe tiara, both belonging to Her Majesty The Queen.

The tiara was worn by Her Majesty on her wedding day in 1947.

A vintage dress that's lovely! I forget how many times on here I have seen people say that's the York girls have a similar figure to the Queen I guess this proves it!

ineedaholidaynow · 18/07/2020 22:19

Stunning flowers! Lovely pictures

paradyning · 18/07/2020 22:21

I guess HM has a couple of wardrobes of white court dresses to rifle through

paradyning · 18/07/2020 22:23

Ooo remodelled by Stewart Parvin! My own dress designer!!

mathanxiety · 18/07/2020 22:24

The vertical style of the tiara echoed the vertical embellishment on the dress.

I think she should have left off the added sleeves - but the dress was a lovely choice, very appropriate for the circumstances with so much economic uncertainty and human suffering afoot.

chocolatecheesecake · 18/07/2020 22:24

I love the dress and flowers, though I do wonder what has happened to the dress she originally planned as presumably she would have already ordered something before lockdown happened? Think this may have turned out better for them to do this rather than their original plans as they could relax and enjoy the day away from the media spotlight.

paradyning · 18/07/2020 22:25

It's lovely

Well! I think Beatrice knocked it out of the park there. She looks fab; love the dress, love the tiara, love the flowers, love the privacy of it all. 😃

thisenglishlife · 18/07/2020 22:25

The dress was remodelled and fitted by the Queen's senior dresser Angela Kelly and designer Stewart Parvin, Buckingham Palace said.

I quite like the sleeves, adds to the ethereal vintage look!

paradyning · 18/07/2020 22:28

That's such a great pic. The flower arch is incredible as someone upthread said already

chocolatecheesecake · 18/07/2020 22:28

I like the sleeves too - it wouldn't have looked bridal with the original straps and they balance the veil and skirt

Becles · 18/07/2020 22:28

Thank you for the pictures!!!

If Bea was wearing one of the queen's old dresses, that confirms the theory by an earlier (several threads ago) that she has a lovely natural frame (ans as the queen was tiny, quite petite)

itswinetime · 18/07/2020 22:31

I love the dress and flowers, though I do wonder what has happened to the dress she originally planned as presumably she would have already ordered something before lockdown happened?

There were rumours Beatrice was struggling to find a designer so maybe this was the plan all along. Then she would have had a custom reception dress which she can still wear if they do have an Italian celebration.

Good point!

I’ve never liked that tiara as I’m afraid it reminds me of teeth somehow.

The vintage dress make me certain they’re planning a big do down the line. That’s when you’ll see the designer dress.

Choux · 18/07/2020 22:33

The skirt of the dress was reworked with a replacement tier added. First worn in 1962!

It does beg the question though what has happened to the York tiara? Had it been sold off or are the York girls more superstitiousnormal than the Wales boys and think jewellery linked to public divorce isn't that romantic! Cough William cough!
