Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

The first dress should be Hobbs Delilah in polka dot print, not Wallis

FATEdestiny · 14/07/2020 17:09

I've listened to DoC several times on the news today. I can't get past the fact that she sounds like she's on the verge of tears. Or I should say, she sounds like I sound when I'm on the verge of tears.

I can't figure out what it is, high pitched maybe. I've never previously thought she sounded like that, it's new.

MotherofPearl · 14/07/2020 19:35

Ooooh, thanks @thisenglishlife! I love all those pearl earrings, but my favourites are the very simple drops (top, middle). So elegant and classy.

I totally agree about Kate's hair. It's too light, and I dislike all those choppy layers. Chrystal Carrington is about right. I also really like her hair darker, mid-length, with the big soft waves. I aspire to hair like that!

It's CPV's 43rd birthday today, so she and her family took part in a photo opp. The dress is a bit much for me, but she looks pretty and happy.

Leti and SFF attended a dinner. Leti looks amazing in the red dress usual.

Leti looks like she hasn't eaten any carbs since 2007. She's super chic but if the camera is supposed to add ten pounds, well she must be teeny weeny in reality. (Size not height).

thisenglishlife · 14/07/2020 20:34

@MotherofPearl the top middle are actually two different pieces worn together:
A diamond hoop (Kiki Mcdonough, £1300) and a pearl attachment (Annoushka Baroque Drop” style £350).

Here's a £60 replica:

Don’t like the hair extensions.

QuietFlame · 14/07/2020 22:00

I wonder if Kate’s hair is that colour or its a trick of the light?
I have brunette hair which can look orangey in some lights, especially strong sunlight.
Mind you she went lighter last summer too,I remember the pictures of her taking Charlotte to school in September and it was a similar style and colour then.

thisenglishlife · 14/07/2020 22:31

Recent engagements vs the Charlotte first day at school hair (2019) - it was her lightest ever colour.

That's interesting about those earrings english. Thanks for the tip about the replicas; very tempting. I'm turning into a RepliKate!

thisenglishlife · 14/07/2020 22:48

@MotherofPearl Kate's earrings (in the pearl earrings collage) on the second row, first picture are these faux pearl ones (£64):

Oh there's another replikate pearl item on The Royal collection website:
www.royalcollectionshop.co.uk/buckingham-palace-large-pearl-earrings.html?refSrc=1235&nosto=nosto-page-product1

The earrings she wore after Louis was born (part of the Queen's collection and dating back to the late 1800s) .

I spotted those ones on the Royal Collection site too. They're lovely. You're quite the jewellery sleuth english! Grin

paradyning · 15/07/2020 03:50

Leti's shoes are amazing!

itswinetime · 15/07/2020 05:23

Loving the jewel sleuthing! I do wish the royals would be less shy with their jewels. I get it might not be the popular choice these days but I love seeing some bling!

The queen has been active on zoom again. Must be such a strange thing for her when you think all the changes she has in technology but I think it's quite nice to see some more of her than the normal wave and handshake.

itswinetime · 15/07/2020 05:37

Full video here on YouTube for those that are interested I may be bored of zoom calls personally but I find it very refreshing to see a more personal side to the Queen. Normally we are limited to photos on visits and the queens speech a positive for me in all this is seeing the queens interactions a bit more.

StartupRepair · 15/07/2020 10:06

Do you think the Queen has an IT support person standing discreetly out of sight and saying Ma'am you are on mute?

AppleKatie · 15/07/2020 10:55

Thanks for sharing that Zoom, it’s lovely to see her interaction with people. Impressive!

Tablefor4 · 15/07/2020 13:35

The Crown never mutes.

I always think the DoC has a very strained voice, quite nasal, and as if she has a mouth full of marbles. I think she must feel self conscious about sounding 'posh-enough' and so maybe puts it on a bit.

justasking111 · 15/07/2020 14:30

I had to do presentations occasionally, great in rehearsal, prompt cards, charts, etc. my voice sounded strained at the actual event too. Public speaking is an art which you learn the more you do.

itswinetime · 15/07/2020 21:35

Camilla out and about today she's gone to see the Chelsea pensioners our first formal ish out fit in a while it suits her.

Cams looks good in those pale shades. But I still think she needs a visit to Rigby & Peller.
