Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

I hope she wore the York tiara, that would have been a lovely link with her mother, and it's such a pretty design too.

Eaumyword · 17/07/2020 15:09

There had better have been a tiara! Grin
I'm dying to see the bride's dress and the outfits of attendees.
I've felt critical of the Yorks previously (Andrew and Fergie/Eugenie's massive wedding) but I'm seriously impressed by B&E quietly getting on with it like this. Good for them!Star

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 15:30

That looks like a no on the Queen changing for the Sir Tom.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 15:32

@itswinetime Just coming to post same. What a lovely day for the Queen. She really looks happy! Arise Sir Tom. Although he did say if he knelt down he wouldn’t be able to get back up!!

Eaumyword · 17/07/2020 15:45

Beautiful photo of HMQ and lovely Captain Tom and his family. How exciting for the family, they'll never forget that moment. Love the ballerina skirt the girl is wearing, so pretty.
I wonder if Queenie popped out to do the investiture and is popping back in for the reception and nibbles!

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 15:53

Receptions are still banned aren't they? It's weddings o my with up to 30. Receptions can start from the 1st of august I believe. I guess a group in the garden is allowed not sure what the maximum number is for a Sumer picnic Wink

ajandjjmum · 17/07/2020 16:07

Although it couldn't possibly have been planned - what an absolutely perfect day for the Queen to partially re-emerge from the gloom of Covid.

The wedding of a much loved GD, who presumably was aware of the controversy that would surround a large wedding, and took advantage of the situation for her special day, and knighting a man who the nation has taken to heart as their father/grandfather.

Eaumyword · 17/07/2020 16:19

Oh are receptions still banned? Lovely day for a mini garden party then!Grin

banivani · 17/07/2020 16:41

Popping in, waiting for the wedding photos! 🙌

Gonegrey31 · 17/07/2020 17:13

Apparently no photographs of the wedding are being released today so as not to overshadow the investiture of Sir Tom. That is a thoroughly decent and gracious decision. Well done and congratulations to the newly weds.

Becles · 17/07/2020 17:39

@itswinetime

Tiara! Of course how could I forget the Bling! Do you think she would still have worn one?
😲 What are you even doing on these threads if you're not prepared to ask about the tiara before anything else?

Shocked by how standards have slipped without Queen. Truly sad GrinGrin

Congratulations to Beatrice and Eduardo. 🎉 I hope they have had a lovely day with memories to treasure.
It will be interesting to see if one of the long term effects of C19 is a return to smaller weddings. Our DS1 gets married next August and the commercial aspect of wedding fairs has been a revelation.

AppleKatie · 17/07/2020 18:01

Looking forward to seeing the dress and tiara but yes, a dignified small wedding sounds right in the circs.

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 18:03

I know I hang my head in shame......I guess I just can face the disappointment if there is no bling!!! It's been so long I'm going into withdrawals Blush

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 18:13

Knighthoods were obviously made to be done with social distancing in mind

Absolutely the right decision made by B&E! I bet she is quite happy to avoid the media circus... can't wait to see the photos. The Queen looked great today!

FATEdestiny · 17/07/2020 20:00

I've had a Google of tiaras worn by Sarah, Duchess of York and I can't find any she wore apart from the York tiera. It's significance is such that if it's not worn/inherited by either daughter it will be a loss.

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 20:33

A florist from Windsor has posted these a Beatrice's flowers obviously could be fake but if it's true the colours are beautiful

What a lovely wedding bouquet & I think I can just about make out some Myrtle in there. I believe it's a royal tradiction to have some Myrtle in a royal wedding bouquet & the Myrtle comes from the original bush given to Queen Victoria. Myrtle is meant to represent fidelity & luck.
I had some sprigs of Myrtle in my wedding bouquet.

Has anyone seen Anne's interview in woman's weekly

Princess Anne looks great, can hardly believe she is 70! 😲

Spudlet · 17/07/2020 21:27

Princess Anne is mildly terrifying, but she looks great! And I do admire her willingness to speak her mind, even when I don’t necessarily agree with her. (Not that she’d care!).

I tried to make myself a linen dress, in a Meghan-esque green no less and a cocoon shape too. Bloody disaster Grin I ended up chopping the bottom off and making it into a top!

StartupRepair · 17/07/2020 22:39

Love Anne's casual look. Hope Bea had a very happy and special day. How classy to keep it private. Works on lots of levels.

banivani · 17/07/2020 22:50

Ooo @Spudlet what pattern were you using?

MotherofPearl · 17/07/2020 22:51

Wow, Princess Anne does look amazing. I look forward to reading the interview; thanks for posting it wine.

I hope that someone will start a new thread if Bea's photos are released tomorrow, as I fear we are going to need a new one. @LadyEloise?
