Sadly QueenoftheAndals has decided to bow out and not create any more Royal Style and Beauty threads SadSadSad
I'm really hoping she'll reconsider.
Are any of the regular posters interested in continuing her great work ?

ajandjj completely agree.

It is so nice that it was private and about them and not about unpleasantness.

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 12:55

I can see that covid has given them the perfect reason for a small quiet wedding which it a seemed liked they wanted but with the increased pressure and publicity around Andrew at the moment was probably for the best.

FATEdestiny · 17/07/2020 13:03

Captain Tom Moore being knighted this afternoon. Will the Queen change for this?

justasking111 · 17/07/2020 13:28

Wish them and all couples getting married this year much joy and love. It is in the end about two people and loved ones celebrating the occasion.

FATEdestiny · 17/07/2020 13:29

BBC now announcing the wedding happened this morning.

Horsemad · 17/07/2020 13:31

How exciting, having a private wedding. 🙂 Shame we don't get the build up to it, I hope we see her dress.

Surprised it wasn't picked up before now; the banns must have been read fairly recently? 🤔

ajandjjmum · 17/07/2020 13:47

Maybe the Queen was able to give special dispensation.

I am thrilled that she has been able to have her day without the inevitable sniping that would have happened for a 'planned' wedding. Andrew deserves everything thrown at him, but she seems a lovely woman, and should not be denigrated for having him as a father.

Laiste · 17/07/2020 13:47

Wow they did an amazing job of keeping that under wraps! Shock

Congratulations B :) Flowers

What a weird world we're in right now. In the spring i would have put money on B having the same (if not bigger) do than her sister. I imagined disagreements here on MN about Andrew and the will she wont she have a carriage drive and the cost ect. The cost of security and who's going in comparison to E's wedding. (M and H) And now this!

To be honest this way feels more dignified and royal than all the usual hoo har and celebrity hanger oners. Especially as these girls are 'wider family' royals now really. I guess we'll get some nice photos in a day or two and i'm looking forward to it.

MotherofPearl · 17/07/2020 13:53

Gosh, just catching up with the big news! I totally agree Laiste, this feels like a dignified, tasteful option under the circumstances (Covid, Andrew etc). I wish them well.

I really hope we get to see some photos though, both of her dress and of the guests.

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 13:55

I always got the impression Beatrice didn't want all the 'fuss' of previous royal weddings. She seems quieter and more withdrawn from public life than the others but that may just be completely wrong.

I hope that this has still be the kind of wedding she would have wanted for her sake. I agree it's the best option I imagine the the guest list would have been a nightmare not many people want their name linked to Andrew in anyway at the moment!

Fingers crossed for some dress pictures.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 13:58

I love small weddings. May be a bit biased as I had a grand total of 4 guests.

Obviously nothing wrong with big weddings either but there just is something more intimate and loving about a small one. I have probably not explained what I mean well but congratulations Bea and Edo!

Becles · 17/07/2020 14:03

I want pictures of dresses and a tiara to plan a heist for 😫

I hope they have a good day, I know 3 people who postponed weddings and it's been so stressful.

Fingers crossed the nitpicking crew don't accuse her of deliberately stealing the limelight by marrying on Camilla's birthday.

I do love a good wedding 💒

Horsemad · 17/07/2020 14:04

I agree @alliwantisagoodnightssleep. I had 9 guests at mine, it was fab. We all fitted round one table and it was so intimate, just lovely. It was also winter time and Christmas - the light was gorgeous as it moved from day to night, lots of candlelight and really beautiful. ♥️

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 14:04

Pictures won’t be released until tomorrow. They don’t want to overshadow Captain Tom. According to ITV tweet.

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 14:08

Tiara! Of course how could I forget the Bling! Do you think she would still have worn one?

frugalkitty · 17/07/2020 14:08

The little chapel they got married in is lovely! Good for her, it's lovely that they've just gone ahead and done it I still want to see photos though

Laiste · 17/07/2020 14:25

I bet it was a small version of a big wedding though. By our standards y'know?

I imagine she still wore a wonderful £££ dress and some lovely rocks and the chapel was bursting with beautiful flowers :)

I can't wait to see what everyone wore! And all the little bridesmaids and page boys.

The more i think about it the more it really feels such a refreshing change waiting for the pics to be published of this royal wedding (just like the majority of the public would have had to in the old days) rather than the same old TV circus we always have now with the same old faces simpering about what's going on.

Laiste · 17/07/2020 14:37

If they followed the rules and had up to 30 people i wonder who was there?

frugalkitty · 17/07/2020 14:50

I planned to only have thirty at our wedding back in the day, but the reception venue had a minimum of 60 during the peak months so 60 it was. I bet the royals thoroughly enjoyed a family occasion without being on show for once.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 14:50

@Laiste I think it was 20 guests so presumably no W&K and children.

itswinetime · 17/07/2020 14:54

I'd be very surprised if Charles, Camilla and the Cambridge's were there. Partly because of the current situation but also why would they be there and not Anne, Zara, Peter, Edward the list goes on. No I think it will have been immediate family on both sides maybe a few friends I'm not even sure there will have been pageboys/flower girls.

Laiste · 17/07/2020 14:56

OH 20!

Ooh gosh - i wonder if they had 10 each or more from B's side?

Laiste · 17/07/2020 14:58

I was hoping to see some pics of catherine and the DCs.
Bum!

Laiste · 17/07/2020 15:00

20 is really small isn't it? I had 25 (2nd time) and it felt small.

I guess they didn't umm and err about The Queen Grin

queenofarles · 17/07/2020 15:06

ajandjjmum was thinking that too,

I feel there is no point in postponing, low key wedding is the right thing to do. Big weddings will probably be on the way out soon.

Former Queen of Jordan’s Daughter < Rania’s SIL got married a few weeks earlier in a very simple ceremony too.

I do wish Bea a happy marriage,

linen, I love it, I’ve been living in midi length shirt dresses lately, so light and comfy!

There are good linens that are light and doesn’t crease horribly, and then there are the heavier ones that are just made out of short low quality yarn and will instantly crease.
most high street linens are horrible, you need to pay a bit more for good ones or search for cotton and linen mix instead.

And Bamford products are really nice. Hand and body wash smells amazing.

We’ve been using dayelsford for the last few months, their produce is really fresh.
