They're really light and a sort of yellowy colour. The listing stated it was brown henna.
Is there another that's darker that I can use?

I don’t know about using henna, but I’ve seen people on social media using “Freck” for temporary freckles which looks alright.

SansaClegane · 24/05/2020 14:03

Isn't it the longer you leave it on, the darker it gets? So just try leaving it on for longer than you have previously?
Have to say I'm amazed though; had been completely oblivious to the fake freckles trend. It was only this morning when I looked in the mirror that I cursed my overly freckled face (can anyone confirm that they increase in number as you get older?!). Mine are very light but everywhere so it just looks like I've got a very uneven skin tone Sad

Samtsirch · 24/05/2020 14:09

I used to be a goth too, I absolutely loved it.
I was obsessed with Robert Smith from The Cure, and Suzi and the Banshees.
I am sure I have read about temporary tattoo freckle kits on the internet, have a look online, they may have a shade to suit you.
My daughter just used to use a waterproof eyeliner pencil to make dots.

whichteaareyou · 24/05/2020 14:10

Watch glow up on bbc iPlayer- tbe face off challenge last week was to create freckles!

L777 · 24/05/2020 17:18

No idea how you could do this, but can't believe the horribleness on this thread. It's disgusting. Do as you please and don't care what they think or say!!!

Pangur2 · 24/05/2020 17:26

Why are people being so horrible about freckles?! Fake freckles are huge right now; which I presume my real ones are also stylish for once! Hurrah!

There’s a whole brand emerging just for fake freckles (the aforementioned Freck). I’ve also seen fake freckle pens on Look Fantastic and PLT. I’ve also seen someone else use the brown eyebrow tattoo tint from Maybelline; this would probably be darker but perhaps not last as long as henna. Easier to control and predict though.

RedRed9 · 24/05/2020 17:33

@AnyFucker maybe you need to take a break from the internet if that’s the first conclusion you jump to?

@MaggyMaysBeenTakenAway have you seen this video? m.youtube.com/watch?v=2Lu6zKxdcdk She did another successful attempt at it later but this one was hilarious (bless her)!

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/05/2020 17:37

I don’t think people were terribly horrible - they just questioned it. That isn’t bullying but that is what OP accused some of. That isn’t nice either. But they also followed it up with a be kind. When they were accusing people of bullying?

We are allowed opinions. That in itself isn’t disgusting. Or vile. Or worthy of a wow. Or indeed being told not to say anything.

If you want to bandy about ‘be kind’ you need to be kind yourself and realise that some on here may question what you are doing.

MaggyMaysBeenTakenAway · 24/05/2020 18:46

RedRed that's what inspired me to try... Not the red one obviously 😂

SabrinaTheTeenageBitch · 24/05/2020 19:26

I don't think anyone was horrible. And I quite like freckles (not that I could be arsed to draw them on personally) It was more of a 'why henna?!' reaction from me. I've used indian henna, lush henna in colours ranging from bright red to dark brown and they ALL faded orange on my skin. Had some unfortunate moments when I ran out of gloves Grin

helloPig · 24/05/2020 21:22

@AnyFucker i’ve reported your post.

i mean, i get that it’s your ‘thing’ to be edgy and rude, but this is a low even for you. as a previous poster said, you should step away from the internet for a bit.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/05/2020 22:11

To be fair, on the posts I’ve seen @AnyFucker on, they usually have it bob on.

I had platform boots under my goth robes. It doesn’t mean I was a 70s deject or showaddywaddy devotee. Merely a short arse.

If I’d have put maryjanes on I would have been tit height with the goths I slunk about with...

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/05/2020 22:13

Threads not posts.

Too tired.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/05/2020 22:14

And reject not deject. Christ.

PawPawNoodle · 24/05/2020 22:17

Goth must have changed a lot in the last decade, everyone in my circles would cover freckles in a full inch of foundation to cover freckles, not draw them on. 🤷‍♀️

Either way, contour powder or a non-shimmery bronzer mixed in with setting spray flicked on with a fan brush is a good technique that can at least be washed off.

noraclavicle · 24/05/2020 22:21

And why exactly would goths would have freckles Confused

comeasyouare1 · 24/05/2020 22:23

Hi OP have you tried the henna for brows? That may work better than standard henna. You can get darker browns, it might work better for you

noraclavicle · 24/05/2020 22:23

Alright, I’ll backtrack slightly. I was a goth once & I’ve always had freckles..just wondering when the requirement to paint them on came into force Grin

ThanksForAllTheFish · 24/05/2020 22:45

For darker henna you can mix it with black tea rather than water to get a deeper colour. I do my hair with henna and mix it with a red berry fruit tea to get a less orange and more red shade.
Also you need to make sure you have left the dye long enough to release the dye. It can take anywhere from 2-12 hours depending on how fresh the powder is, room temperature, water/liquid temperature. How long you leave the henna on can also make a difference to the colour.

JenNtonic · 24/05/2020 23:07

Oooooh this sounds gorgeous ! Didn't even know it was a thing!!!! Please post a teeny tiny pic !? Xx

fairydustandpixies · 24/05/2020 23:30

Fake freckles? You can have my real ones if you like, I've been trying to get rid of them for many, many years!

Why would you want to do that? Why are you not happy as you are?

You're perfect OP. Don't try and change yourself.

Stillabitemo · 24/05/2020 23:41

Freck make up gives a great effect, although if you’re looking longer term you might want to have a look at semi permanent make up, ive seen some gorgeous outcomes.

managedmis · 25/05/2020 02:38

You can have my freckles if you want, op, I don't want them Smile

RyanBergarasTeeth · 25/05/2020 02:59

People on here losing their shit over fake freckles will absolutely piss their pants when i tell them that tattooed on freckles are also a thing now. Perminantly tattooed on freckles. Henna darkens and adding lemon juice helps. As people habe said eyebrow dyes might also work.

thebabessavedme · 25/05/2020 09:07

don't understand the rudeness Hmm this is S&B, not AIBU. I often see things on here that I don't like, ie, I would never recommend fat face or sea salt, I dislike that style but loads of people love it, their choice and all that OP, if you want fake freckles and they make you happy, just go for it, ignore the boring old ladies on here Grin, they can hoist up their elasticated leisure pants and bugger off back to AIBU
