They're really light and a sort of yellowy colour. The listing stated it was brown henna.
Is there another that's darker that I can use?

Anyfucker

Seriously? Because I put fake freckles on you're insinuating I'm a man?

I'm a radical feminist who is part of my local LGB party and strongly against gender recognition act so you are barking so far up the wrong tree that you're gonna need a parachute to get down Biscuit

Why wouldn’t OP be welcome here?

Didn't say that OP would be unwelcome, and thats clearly not the case. Just that it's possible people wouldn't be of a similar demographic and therefore not able to offer the advice being sought (like you said yourself, funnily enough).

if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all

And this is semantic, emotionally manipulative bullshit. Women can say any words they choose.

Mermaidwaves · 24/05/2020 12:42

How long ago did you do this? My daughter is a henna artist so I know a bit about henna on the skin. Henna at first looks very light but it darkens over a few hours so DONT put on any more as you may not know yet how dark it will come out. Henna tends to have an orangey tone on fair skin, assuming youre white? I wouldn't recommend henna for this use as its unlikely to look like real freckles.

Ah, the lamb's blood might have something to do with that. You need better nutrition.

Also, Eyelure do a black eyebrow dye and is available on Amazon. Although it's probably serious negative karma to line Bezos' pockets.

vengeancer · 24/05/2020 12:46

is that a thing now?

oohnicevase · 24/05/2020 12:47

Fake tan!

DonLewis · 24/05/2020 12:48

For hair henna, you mix it with coffee to get a darker shade. Might that help?

Mermaidwaves · 24/05/2020 12:50

If youre set on using henna for this purpose again then wait for this period to fade then start again. Use natural henna as that is safest for the skin. Leave it on for as long as you can and use lemon juice to dab on it to keep it moist as the drying effect helps to stain the skin better. The acid in lemons helps to darken it too.

wedding2021 · 24/05/2020 12:54

Good for you op! I'd love to see a picture. A lot of MN don't like anything 'out of the ordinary'.

moonset · 24/05/2020 12:54

Fake freckles were on Glow Up and they're a pretty mainstream popular thing to do if you're younger generation.

Perhaps being a (full) goth in 2020 is different to the goths of the 1980s who wouldn't be seen dead with any hint of colour or sunlight on their pale complexionsWink

And sorry OP but I did wonder if you were genuine too!

TheQueef · 24/05/2020 12:55

Some spiteful posts on this thread.

I darken my freckles or spots temporarily with Avon glimmerstick, doesn't budge until I remove it. If you dab over it it lightens slightly so can be adjusted.

LilyMarshall · 24/05/2020 12:56

My very with it niece has just posted on instagram a selfie with fake freckles.

MitziK · 24/05/2020 12:59

Don't buy anything labelled Black Henna. That's a one way ticket to extreme reactions to hair dye in the future, if not scarring now. Yemeni henna is generally regarded as the best.

The longer the (normal, safe) henna takes to dry, the darker the colour. A humid, warm environment is ideal.

Looking at my very much crap Goth skin, I have to say that although it's assumed freckles are dark brown, those are - for me at least - moles. The freckles you have created are exactly the colour you don't want.

I remember the days when, surrounded by everybody else Doing Goth Right, I stood out like a sore thumb, thanks to the wet squirrel coloured hair and a billion freckles all year round. Sounds like it would have been much easier to fit in now.

PatsyJStone · 24/05/2020 12:59

Do you still need a handhold with your DP due to arrive to break up with you? Or is it just the freckles you are concerned about now?

SheSaidNoFuckThat · 24/05/2020 13:02

Can not believe the rudeness on this thread! Seriously grow up people and be kind!

Op I don't have any tips as I've not done it myself, but you do you, don't let others get you down

ClientQ · 24/05/2020 13:06

They're not permanent of course but here, L’Oréal magic root touch up to create freckles

MoMagic · 24/05/2020 13:10

You have another thread going where you are worried about your partner breaking up with you and being a Single mum. You seem quite distressed on that one how are you feeling now?

Fozzleyplum · 24/05/2020 13:18

I sincerely hope that none of the sarcastic/unpleasant posters on here have ever used foundation, eyeliner, blusher, lipstick, or any other colour cosmetic. Otherwise, you'd be as hypocritical as you are vile.

Wagamamas · 24/05/2020 13:25

I'm really curious how that turned out? Would you mind posting a close photo?

Coffeeandteach · 24/05/2020 13:27

I love that you love freckles 😁 I hate the ones on my face. Mine are always really pale the first few weeks of Summer so yours probably look like ones that are starting to develop. I have no advice on how to make them darker but hope you ignore all the negativity on here.

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 24/05/2020 13:28

Be kind. And vile. Did I miss a ‘wow’?

In my goth days I didn’t want freckles and desperately wanted pale skin with no patches of freckles/blotches. All change now it seems.

A desperate henna accident left me with Ronald Macdonalds hair too once. I was left very wary of the powers of henna.

Would a brown eyeliner pen not work?

Whenasuitcasejustwontdo · 24/05/2020 13:32

I can't help with what would work, but just wanted to double check that you won't use black henna- some give horrific burns. Please be careful Smile.

And ignore the nastiness within this thread. We're not, as some posters seem to want, all the same. And thank goodness for that!

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 24/05/2020 13:39

The crap some posters come up with.
Anyfucker, seriously ffs.
Can't help with the henna OP but have used fake tan to good effect.

maryboleyn · 24/05/2020 13:49

I wear mendhi (henna) quite often, Eid, weddings etc. I put a concoction of lemon juice and sugar on it to allow it to 'cook' and come out darker. PLEASE DO NOT USE ANYTHING LABELLED BLACK HENNA. HTH x
