Ooh @Sickoffamilydrama yes, show us your bangles.

Thanks @Ellapaella Here's my new DMs. They are the Voss ones, and I thought when I ordered them that they'd look good with my L&Y Lola dungarees. I'm going to have to keep them now because I've just walked the dog in them. They are amazingly comfy...even better than Birkenstocks, which I previously thought were the comfiest shoes in the world. I also like that the DMs add a couple of inches to my height.
Hopefully the shoe design itself will grow on me because they feel great to wear.

Love, love, love the sandals @quantumdog. They're fab. Also super envious that you have Lolas!

No outfit for me today. I've been at the yard all day. The horse and I have fallen out after she was a little shit bag today (typically when a prospective buyer was riding her). 🤦‍♀️ Anyway, I'm currently in DH's old thermal Under Armour leggings, a pink M&S thermal top (it's bloody freezing!), an old hoodie of DH's, and a manky old Horseware gilet. It's a great look... 🙈

Might have an actual outfit to show later as I'm meant to be doing a Zoom catch-up with friends who are all fairly pulled together, so feel like I ought to make a bit of an effort, rather than rolling up to it looking like I've been dragged through a haystack backwards.

Ellapaella · 06/06/2020 18:57

Ah @quantumdog I was hoping you were going to tell me they were so uncomfortable they ripped your feet to shreds... if they are super comfy now I am going to have to buy a pair Grin I love them, they look fab.

Softpebbles · 06/06/2020 19:18

I can see you rocking them @EllaPaella

They look great @quantumdog

happytobemrsg · 06/06/2020 19:22

I love your sandals @quantumdog I’ve been eyeing up some DM sandals but worried about all the breaking in. I love the look of these:

I'm still following this wonderful thread every day and everyday I kick myself for forgetting to take a photo.

Must. Try. Harder.

I was actually wearing something close to an outfit today but managed to get soaked on on dog walk so got back into yoga pants. Yesterday I was wearing reasonably fancy and coordinated riding clothes which is a first; I normally look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards.

I'll try to post a blurry photo

Talisin · 06/06/2020 20:17

Argh! Why did you have to show me those DM sandals, @quantumdog?! They look amazing. Want!

quantumdog · 06/06/2020 20:24

Yeah, I heard that they'd need breaking in but they've been ridiculously comfy from the off. When I'm wearing them I feel all light and bouncy. 😆 The soles feel super cushioned and soft, and the leather straps are nice and soft too.
Love the Blair sandals @happytobemrsg I think they'd look amazing with your ever expanding L&Y wardrobe. In fact, I think I perhaps should have got that style instead.

@toastfiend I'm a bit scared to wear the Lolas outside! They cheer me up when I put them on, but every now and again I catch a glimpse of myself in the hall mirror and wonder if I look ridiculous. They're a bit of a departure from my normal 'safe' style. You'd look amazing in them though...Lucy & Yak really seems to suit you.

Shannith · 06/06/2020 20:27

This is the closest I’ve been to wearing an outfit appropriate for outside the house for a few days

Hat - can’t remember (it’s at the yard) Gatehouse I think
Top - Rydale
Jodhpurs - Dublin
Chaps - Ariat
Boots - Tuffa
Gloves - not sure, nice leather ones

Horse - welsh cob!

MamaOdie · 06/06/2020 20:27

@quantumdog fab sandals! Would they be good for wide feet, do you think?

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you @Sooverthehill

ClientQ · 06/06/2020 20:31

I can't wait to wear actual normal clothes again Grin
I'm shielding and WFH so my outfits are basically a t shirt type top and harems or leggings as I sit for 8.5hrs and find jeans aren't comfy for that long
Bit different to work as I always wear dresses and heels!! I bought some more Lucy locket leggings, that's my sole contribution Grin

Shannith · 06/06/2020 20:32

@toastfiend mine was also a shitbag yesterday without any excuse whatsoever. As soon as DD got bored and wandered off with my phone she decided to go all stressage pony.

I swear she deliberately waits until no one is looking.

Ootd86 · 06/06/2020 20:38

Rejoining (changed username) after many, many months! Been following sneakily for a while and jumping in again after a very... odd year.

What I wore today: Hobbs jumper, J Brand jeans and yes, those shiny gold things are my slippers Blush you can never have too much glitter and gold in your life, IMO.

OK, I know this is an S&B thread but can we have more horsies, please? Photobombing cats and dogs also welcome.

ClientQ · 06/06/2020 20:51

I lost my girl in August last year, definitely the worst emotional pain I've ever felt. Someone described it perfectly "her absence feels like homesickness, I want to go home but I can't"
But my god, it was worth every second of the heartbreak for the decade I got with her Smile
There's never quite enough time, is there?

@ClientQ she is a beauty. You look amazing on her. So sorry she gone.

@Talisin for you - lovely pony, stupid dog and idiot cat.

Haha @Talisin . Sorry...I think based on comfort alone you should invest. @Ellapaella They'd look great on you, as would the Blair style.
@MamaOdie My feet are fairly wide and there's plenty of room either side on the toe band bit, if that makes sense. They don't pinch, but they feel nice and supportive at the same time. I wasn't sure about them, but now thanks to those of you who've shown some love for the DMs I'm also loving them.

Amazing slippers @Ootd86

And beautiful horse @ClientQ
If I could rule the world I'd make sure that horses live forever, and dogs.

KiteflyingKat · 06/06/2020 21:23

Well I’ve been in cycling gear all day so no photo.

Love the horse pictures. I gave mine (a loan) up a few years ago then I got pregnant. I’d love to ride again but I have literally no idea how people balance having a young child, job & a horse - at least until child is old enough to come to the yard without being a massive safety risk for them. Lessons are prohibitively expensive (I’m just outside London...) .

So in the meantime I cycle. Which I do love, but it can be squeezed into a smaller chunk of time.

I’ve actually ordered some cheapo dungas off eBay. Worried I might regret this. But I’m so unsure about them I don’t want to fork out £60 for Lucy & Yak , and even second hand they are still expensive.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/06/2020 21:26

No outfit from me, because it’s lashing rain and I just had a bath, then put on joggers and a jumper, but I can oblige with a cat photo. She finds working from home VERY tedious.

@shannith - lovely neddy. Smile

@ClientQ another lovely neddy. So sorry to hear of your loss. I had to say goodbye to my beautiful gentleman of an ex-racer at the start of this year. He took a piece of my heart with him when he went over the rainbow bridge. I felt I could take on the world when I was on him. There's an A. A Milne quote that really resonates with me "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." You're right, the time with them is worth the heartbreak.

@quantumdog thank you, that's really kind! I bet the Lolas look amazing on you! Wear them with pride! Grin

No outfit. Still smelling like horse and looking like I got dragged through a hay bale. 😂 I am going to join in the horse pics, though. First pic is my wonderful old boy, I absolutely adored that horse. Second is the current one, who disgraced herself today by broncing the whole way down the arena with a prospective purchaser on board, after I'd reassured them she would never do such a thing (she wouldn't usually!) She's only 4 and another ex-racer. They're my kryptonite. Love a Thoroughbred.

Loving all the horse and cat pics. @ClientQ your horse looks beautiful and beautiful words from you, so sorry for your loss.

Here is my special friend - she came back from the vets today after having to spend the last two nights there having IV fluids. She's been terrifically poorly with a horrible gastroenteritis which left her with bloody diarrhoea every 30 minutes as well as vomiting. I have been beside myself with worry but she's home and on the mend. It's been a terrible couple of days seeing her empty basket and feeling her absence- it's like missing my right arm. I can't tell you how lovely it is to have her home and she is in her basket by my bed now snoring away. The best noise ever 💕
