If you had some cash spare (limit £200) which house and what scent would you go for???

Yes it was me @1frenchfoodie who bought Black Calamus and it is absolutely delicious. It smells amazing and lasts really well.
@Greenpop21 at having a signature scent! Today I tried one as soon as I got up, while I was considering what sort of a mood I was in, then put something else on after my shower which I wore all day, then another one when I came in from the garden this evening. Having a signature scent seems a bit dull; where's the fun in wearing the same perfume all the time when there are so many others to ruin your credit card on try.
@yoikes, no idea, I don't have anything on my FB list atm [hangs head in shame] so I would probably go crazy with some samples. Was there anything in the layering box you were tempted by? Any 'classics' you've been considering for a while?

Ha ha @FloraMacDonald yeah I get you. I guess I’m quite sentimental and like associating scents with people and apply that to me too. I do have different ones but tend to wear one or two until they’re gone then switch.

Trying to get my perfume groove back, but it feels a bit forced. Being wearing JM nectarine and honey blossom as DS1 declared I smelt delicious in it.

Hope everyone is well (and thanks for checking in @teta). We're enjoying the nice weather, neighbours eid celebrations, and rediscovering scrubs from the beginning. God I can't wait for life to get exciting again!

It's been an odd day.

My aunt died today. She was ill for a long time and in many ways it was a blessed release. She was great. I admired her immensely.

Yet another reminder that life is short - so that's why I'm thinking of buying something special...but then I worry I would forever associate it with lockdown! Grr.

I'm so sorry yoikes. Will you be able to celebrate her life at all?

No idea lots I hope so at some point in the future.

Final calendar review up. for yoikes, One and calm, sorry to hear all your sad news, was thinking of you all and everyone else having a tough time whilst writing this entry.

Nothing much else to say from me, feeling royally fed up now and really quite despondent which is unlike me. Hoping it passes soon!

Sotd is Sweat - gardening and potting and planting white cosmos seeds.

yoikes so sorry to hear about your aunt. My FB list has both Tauer Carillon Pour Ange, and Tauer Gardenia on it, and I am also really tempted by Aerin Lilac Path (largely because we have a huge lilac tree in the garden and it smells amazing right now).

SOTD 4160 WIDOMH. It's too chilly for it now - it was glorious sunshine this morning but now I need to put a cardigan on.

I've just ordered that candle today judy plus their tomato vine ones. Inspired by spending lots and lots of time in the garden at the moment.

SOTD was diptyque l'ombre dans l'eau. I love it in this hot weather.

yoikes I can't imagine how hard it must be not knowing when you'll get to celebrate and mourn your aunt as a family. I'm so sorry.

lots the funeral is being live streamed tomorrow (in Ireland burials are within 3 days).

Still haven't decided on a perfume to treat myself to!

I can't imagine a socially distanced Irish funeral. They're usually such social occasions with everyone coming to pay their respects ... and invariably end up down the pub for a long evening of it.

Some thoughts about your perfume. Rather than buy a perfume to remind you of lockdown, can you buy one that will remind you of your Aunt and the qualities you most admired in her?

Fragantica is a useful resource, as if you register you can sort out your profile list of haves & wants and notes on interesting ones.

Sotd avon lbd weekend as it's so sunny. I'm SO tired!

SOTD MIss Dior. I am sorry I haven't done my calendar - work has been an utter shit show. I'll get onto it tonight.

SOTD Encens Flamboyant. I haven’t done my calendar either. Yet again the children are refusing to do anything including basic hygiene and going to bed.

SOTD Stella. I did do my calendar in the end!

I'm working my way through all my samples again. SOTD is connock kukui, which I hated when I tried it previously. I remember it being really green, but it isn't at all (at least, not today). It's a lovely white floral. I don't normally like white florals, but this is good. Not long-lasting enough to make it on to my FB list though.
