Good luck getting a test yoikes.

Bad Thing part 2 has arrived: 2 X 50ml of Ealing Green, 30ml of Prada Iris and a mini bottle of 4711 cologne, although that was only a couple of £ so doesn't really count. The Prada Iris is a blind buy that I'm not sure about. Ealing Green had been on my list for a while, although I really only intended to buy one bottle. I'll see if it's possible to return the 2nd bottle!

Have you tried all the remedies that are recommended for poxy children teta? Could you try a bath with a net bag of oats in the water,? It might relieve the itchiness. 💐

yoikes · 24/09/2020 11:33

Vira soothe gel might help too teta

PearsMorgan · 24/09/2020 18:17

SOTD Tauer Incense Extreme. Loving my new blue bottle Smile

yoikes · 24/09/2020 20:18

Sotd clean reserve sueded oud

Got ds2 a test appt fairly locally (20 miles away) for tomorrow (which is his birthday)

teta · 24/09/2020 23:01

Thank you @yoikes.
I've never heard of that before. That's a brilliant idea. Well done on finding a test slot.
Your bad things sound delightful @FloraMacDonald.
Sotd is Une Rose by Malle plus a couple of spray of Lavender from L'Occitane.

PearsMorgan · 25/09/2020 08:11

Happy birthday @yoikes junior. Second the oats @teta and hope you’re not feeling too rough. It is pouring with rain here. SOTD will be incense extreme. Thanks to whoever originally recommended it to me. There are also a couple of weird and wonderful samples in the box to try. I will report back.

yoikes · 25/09/2020 08:21

I think it may have been me :)
One of my fave tauers.
Ds2 likes his gifts and I'm about to decorate his cake 🎂
Have a good day all x

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/09/2020 08:37

SOTD Chanel Coco. Happy birthday, mini-Yoikes! Hope he feels better soon.

Happy birthday @Yoikes ds.
Thank you for the oats tip. I will try it today.
Sotd is Nuda Veritas by Atelier des ors. DH doesn't like it .He's just told me to stop wearing it as it smells like engine oil 🙄. His biggest compliment in the past was his comment that Baccarat Rouge smells like mouldy wood and Mary Greenwell Lemon smells like toilets.
Whatever ... I'm still going to wear what I like.

MrsLorenson · 25/09/2020 10:00

Morning. Hope everyone's OK?

Only 6 degrees here at 9am and it's stormy - have broken out some of my precious Sahara Noir in an attempt to warm up.

FloraMacDonald · 25/09/2020 11:01

I'm considering putting the heating back on in the mornings. I also need new slippers.

Not blown away by either of my blind buys or the Acqua Di Parma colonia futura sample I was sent. Maybe I'm just grumpy today.

Happy birthday yoikesling. Hope you get a quick negative.

yoikes · 25/09/2020 11:46

I put the heating on this morning!

Ds2s test is at 1.30pm

Thank you for the birthday wishes 😘

yoikes · 25/09/2020 14:37

Ds2 has had his test and was a ⭐
We've cut the cake and tucked in Smile
I'm off to bed for a nap!

FloofyAndYetFragrant · 25/09/2020 18:43

It's fucking freezing and blowing a gale here. I'm trying to find the lead for my electric warm throw blanket thing (best thing ever, cannot recommend it enough).

Yoikes (autocorrect changed that to toilet Hmm) how scary for you. Are you all having to SI until he gets results? I hope they come back very very quickly and very negatively.

Tests are like gold dust here, I dread in our house anyone getting a cough. Unfortunately I pretty much spend Sept-May coughing as it is (not CV, bad lungs) and have already had one very unpleasant encounter about it this week Hmm I live in a local lockdown area and people seem to have turned into self obsessed rude arseholes (even allowing a generous allowance for people's worry and stress). I failed at shielding Blush already this year as I just couldn't do it, but bloody hell I might give it another go just to avoid interaction with dickheads, never mind protecting my lungs Grin

I have decided (although I'm not a fan of the #BeKind smug instructions mostly aimed at assertive women from people not at all kind themselves) we all need some more kindness and good things in our lives.

I therefore suggest that DABT (Doing A Bad Thing, aka buying perfume, for any lurkers) be changed into DAGT (Doing A Good Thing) as it is good for our mental health and the economy and just makes us happy quite frankly. (Unless it is a disappointingly shit Blind Buy of course Grin)

And on that note would anyone like a teeny 4ml little bottle (very cute and in a little box) of Chanel Jersey? I have tried it twice and it's a scrubber for me (on paper I should love it and I can appreciate the drydown but not enough to wait for it!) and it needs a good home. I can imagine it smelling wonderful on the right skin! Let me know if anyone would like it, or PM me?

SOTD is Anais Anais (the original one of course not the yukky remake!) as I needed comfort. Unfortunately it worked too well and I am in bed already eating cake in my nightdress. Blush

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/09/2020 18:54

What notes are in the chanel floofy not that im aginst blind testing haha you all know i am the queen of blind buys Grin

FloofyAndYetFragrant · 25/09/2020 19:35

Well apparently...

JERSEY combines the softness of lavender with that of Bourbon vanilla in a creamy accord heightened with notes of white musk.

The Roaring Twenties. Mademoiselle Chanel took jersey, the beautifully raw, supple fabric used to make sailor sweaters, and dressed women in flowing garments that could be worn with natural, effortless elegance. JERSEY evokes the joy of this flight of freedom in a soft and creamy fragrance.

So there you go Grin

yoikes · 25/09/2020 20:11

Thank you
I'm a bit in denial about what a positive test will mean tbh...but if we have to SI thats what we will do
Ds1 has cough variant asthma so...its gonna be a looong winter

yoikes · 25/09/2020 20:20

Sote al rehab choco musk

yoikes · 25/09/2020 21:23

Not keen on do son or eau de sens which is a shame. They came in a lovely cotton drawstring bag too.
I think I'd like tam dao or eau duelle

teta · 25/09/2020 22:38

Yoikes I have tam dao EDP. I can swop for your samples. I like them and would be happy to do this. I do have some decant tubes somewhere ...

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/09/2020 22:38

yoikes im coughing but i also have cough variant asthma and i know its not covid, its just because the seasons are changing, i cough this time of year, EVERY year and I havent been around anyone who has tested positive and im showing abolsutely no other symptoms. Im used to covering my face this time of year and through the winter because of my asthma so wearing a mask doesnt feel any different to me. IF i developed a temp or anything like that, even though id be positive it was my autumn chest infection right on time, id get a test just because thats the right thing to do even though id be 99.% certain it would be negative.

floofy if no ones pm'd, id try it, i havent tried a singl eon of the chanel exclusives, they are sadly soemwhat out of my price range. If someone got there first, no worries, id like to hear their thoughts on it though. Im wary of buying decants on place slike ebay because i dont know im getting the genuine article, you know?

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 25/09/2020 23:04

Another cougher here - I have sinus issues and constant post nasal drip. In summer I also get horrific hay fever so that has also been a pleasure, even with prescription nasal spray and pills.

FloofyAndYetFragrant · 26/09/2020 09:25

@OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack I would be delighted to send it to you, PM your address and I'll pop it in the post? The Exclusifs FBs are also about a million miles out of my price range so in some ways I wish I hadn't tried Beige especially as now I need a FB of it Grin I am looking at a few decants of it on eBay, I only ever buy perfume from sellers with very good feedback though and photos of their original bottles, not just stock photos. eBay are so far on the side of buyers (she says as a seller Wink) that you'll wont lose your money if it's a fake. And I pay via PayPal for protection too.

Beige seems like a crap name for a perfume though doesn't it Grin

I'm looking at all the student/uni news this morning and feeling so much for everyone (and their parents and uni staff!) in that situation. One of my DCs deferred until next year and while it was for a different reason, I'm quite glad of it now. I'm sure she, and a lot of other young ones living away from home for the first time, would have really struggled with all this on her own. It's so awful.

In my efforts to pretend we are back in happier times my SOTD is the Pp dupe of YSL In Love Again.

I hope everyone's days aren't too stressful and we all get some lovely Autumn sunlight. It was misty here this morning. Favourite time of year. Still resisting getting my A/W perfumes and clothes out though...

FloofyAndYetFragrant · 26/09/2020 09:28

I also meant to say sympathy for everyone else who coughs. It's seriously putting me off going out again as other people are such knobs about it. I wonder if burning at the stake will be revived. If I was a man I'm sure people wouldn't be so rude.

PearsMorgan · 26/09/2020 09:47

It’s wearing isn’t it floofy. Not me, but child has onset of winter, wheeze related cough that she gets every year at the same time her eczema flares up. She’s totally fine but I dread her doing it in public.
