Why would anyone want to smell like faeces or urine??? Or stomach contents?? Or am I just not getting something?

these are notes so i assume they appeal on some level - musk perfume is an obvious example, not exactly clean origins.

I missed off urinous! Honey notes can have that effect - see Diva.

I guess we're animals and are interested in the smell of animals?

Roudnitska is interesting for including small amounts of dirty 'grit' to his beautiful compositions - adding complexity, contrast, depth, I guess?

I love Jicky. I would describe it as arse (some people get vomit) but it morphs into plastic then settles into its component parts of vanilla and lavender. Weird stuff.

I’m awaiting my selection of 8ml 4711 florals following a lead on another thread. 4x bottles-4711, Rose,Lilac and White Jasmine versions. Anyone tried them?

I'm sending the burberry body back...it was manufactured 6 years ago and the top notes have gone funny imo.

Just been into Boots and spotted a Yardley fragrance I hadn’t seen before. They’re obviously updating their image/packaging and I spotted Freesia and Bergamot edt. 2 of my favourite smells so treated myself. Bargain at £14.99 for 120ml. DH has just asked what the lovely smell is.

SOTD Altaia Yu Son, green tea, orange blossom and mandarine (citrus). I love this in the warm weather.

Kali, I’m happy to send a sample of Theo Fennell Scent to you? That’s probably the most obvious example of a skanky perfume, but it’s worth the difficult opening to get to the gorgeousness beyond.

Talking about skanky perfumes, I’ve been wearing Sira des Indes (Patou) with notes of champaca, banana and sandalwood. In warm weather it is stunning, and is missing the initial baby poo note that I get in winter (but reviewers on Fragrantica don’t!).

It's chilly again here and I can report that the baby poo note in Sira des Indes is present and correct! Your temperature theory is looking good Calm .

That’ll be the banana. I always get whiff of ‘bum’ when I pick up a bunch of damp bananas in the supermarket

I blind bought Marc Jacobs Rain and its...unusual. it actually does smell like rain int he very first top notes then it becomes a strange almost plasticky floral. its lovely, nice and refreshing just unusual, i dont have anything else like it i dont think
